Morning sunlight poured over Golden Garden as Amelia walked with her three children toward Alan's villa. The air smelled of fresh grass and blooming flowers. Luther walked along the path with great seriousness as if he were on a mission from the president himself. He kept scanning the ground for any stray soccer balls that might tempt his mother into another window breaking disaster. Adin practically hopped in place with bubbling curiosity while Ariel hummed a little tune that only she understood.
"Mom do you think they fixed it already" Adin asked as he skipped two steps ahead.
"We will see" Amelia replied while already calculating the repair cost in her head and adding it to her never ending list of expenses.
Samuel opened the front door before they even had a chance to knock. He rested his shoulder casually against the frame and watched them approach with obvious amusement dancing in his eyes.
