The Wright home glowed with evening light as Samantha kicked off her heels in the foyer. Her mother looked up from the sofa with the television remote in her hand. She instantly spotted trouble in her daughters expression.
"Yikes. That face. No Alan tonight?" she asked while patting the cushion beside her.
Samantha dropped onto the sofa in dramatic exhaustion and let her head fall back.
"Oh I got to his place just fine. And guess what. Some woman was there."
A gorgeous woman who looked like she had rolled out of bed looking perfect. Samantha had stayed in her car until midnight and waited. She watched the mystery woman finally leave Alans house before she drove home with her mind racing with horrible possibilities.
Her mothers lips curved into a knowing smile.
"Honey. Men like Alan always have women buzzing around. Trust me. It means absolutely nothing."
