Chapter 36 - Closer Than Intended

The situation became even more uncomfortable as Amelia and Samuel maneuvered Alan through the doorway that led into the private bathroom. The entrance had always seemed spacious enough whenever Amelia used the room alone, but now that she had to guide Alan inside with Samuel assisting from the other side, the space seemed to shrink dramatically. The doorway that had appeared perfectly ordinary before now felt impossibly narrow, as though the walls themselves were pressing in and deliberately forcing her into closer proximity with the man she was supposed to be treating in a strictly professional manner.
