Festival of a completed revolution

12:00:05

It was the festival of a completed revolution. The Galaxy was full of stars that shine bright, outstanding especially in the midst of the very dark sky. Perriguin looked at the sky and saw her stars. Not like she had a star of her own. She only admired those three stars that were always in line. Somehow, it made her see reasons why the world had to be better. If stars could remain together, how much more humans? No matter the season, those three stars were always sticking together.

The maids including Perriguin were peeping through the windows and doors. The opportuned ones were dancing but the maids couldn't. Who were they? They were nothing but pieces of destroyed mossy rags. Perriguin held on to her broom, looking at the beautiful and gorgeous Apenta the Duchesses were putting on. They were the rear ones made out of the finest fabrics sown into unique styles of beautiful colours. The upper parts were strapless, complexly interwoven and edged with gold just below their breasts. The space between the upper part and the lower part was outstanding, revealing their glowing golden brown skin that were only but the function of the labour of the ointments and slaves. The lower parts were just centimeters away from their navels, stopping just after their posterior. The apenta had a way of bringing out all the curves. The men had Kubentas on. The kubenta was a long fabric tied from about their necks. Most of them had very long hairs, contrasting that of the duchesses. The duchesses were usually without hair. They all had elegant silver and golden crowns and jewelries of precious stones mined by the slaves. It was the only time men were allowed into the kingdom so all the royals were always in their best. From the festival, many got to find their better half. It was like the best time of the year to find love. Each duchess was with a Duke.

The slaves surveyed the wonders, trying not to get caught because them getting caught meant Lukana- a place of torture. Perriguin pictured herself in the shoes of the lucky royals. Putting on such Apenta was a dream. Theirs were the regular plain ones that were unskillfully made. Wishing she could put on all those and stand before those men, she held onto her . They've been broomcleaning the whole palace because of the many guests. There was a lot to be done because of the one month of dining and winning. The worst was that of the cooking department. They had to cook for all the royals. Yet, not a taste. Perriguin was deep in thoughts and fantasy. Lost in desire and lust, she was unconscious that she was no longer peeping. Something dropped on top of her broom suddenly. She jerked and looked at it. It was a paper- a letter. She was a slave but here, a letter had her name on it. Who was it from and how did it fly to her broom?

Reguin, her best friend dragged her in, pushing her into the room.

'Do you know Duchess Emaninewa was looking?' her best friend yelled.

The duchess looking was equivalent to death. What exactly was wrong with her? She could not help but curse the letter that made her lose her mind but what was the use? She was potentially dead.

'Du...chess Ema...ni...newa?' Perriguin stammered as tears travelled down.

'What was wrong with you?' Reguin yelled.

Perriguin looked at the letter and then looked at Reguin. She opened the letter. Yet, Reguin had said nothing. She shoved it at her. Yet, she was seeing nothing. Perriguin was confused. Was Reguin blind?

'Can you see this?' Perriguin asked.

'What?'

'The letter in my hand'

'What letter? You're really crazy!' Reguin exclaimed, flinging her hands and leaving.

Perriguin was left in confusion. She was holding a letter and she was sure. She knew many myths about ghosts but not for inanimate things like letters.

'Perriguin,

Can we have a dance?

Duke of Jumbadiway kingdom'

Perriguin threw the paper. Whatever was in there was an abomination in the highest order. Right in front of her eyes, the letter shrinked into dust gradually. Perriguin stood up in fear, running helter skelter.

'Perriguin!' Reguin yelled.

Perriguin was just so scared. She looked at the hands that bore the letter, they were fading like the paper. Tears travelled effortlessly down her checks.

'What is wrong with you!' Duchess Emaninewa yelled as she grabbed Perriguin's upper apenta.

Perriguin's heart was on the run. Her apenta was being held like a piece of trash that it was.

'Please...Duchess Emaninewa spare my life!' Perriguin cried, smelling death.

'What is the problem Duchess Emaninewa?' a Duke asked.

Perriguin looked at the extremely handsome Duke. Unlike the Duchesses that had no hair on their heads, the dukes kept their hair. This particular Duke had long fine hair packed to the back. His round crown rested on his packed hair.

'This slave dared to step out of the palace' she reported.

Perriguin could not even dare explain anything. She was intimidated. Looking at the hands alone had a way of stabbing her dead self esteem. Their eyes alone depicted superiority. The Duke looked at her fading hands and immediately, it healed. Perriguin was speechless.

'Duke Jumbadi, what should I do o this thing?' Duchess Emaninewa asked, looking into his eyes as her hands went around his neck.

Perriguin's eyes widened. The Duke was the Duke of Jumbadiway kingdom. He was the one that wrote the letter. They both exchanged looks for a while. Perriguin felt a connection somehow. He knew what he had done so why was he not speaking? Perriguin bowed her head, waiting for a miracle. The duchess loved the Duke and could let her go once he requested.

'What's the rule concerning that? let the law take its course' he asked, looking at Perriguin with a smirk on.

Perriguin looked at the window of the palace close to where Reguin was. Reguin looking through the window and probably crying. She knew the implications. Even if Perriguin was bold enough to explain, she had no proof. The letter was gone. Duchess Emaninewa called a servant and threw her at his feet.

'Take her to Lukana, where she belongs!' she said, smiling wickedly.
