Chapter 138 - Chapter 138: The Power of a Konoha Troublemaker

As a certain old man in his late nineties danced alone with surprising enthusiasm, the Uchiha genius made his way to the outer wall at the edge of Hidden Leaf Village.

"Do these walls even do anything? Even walls from Giant Island wouldn't hold back a shinobi." Shen naturally understood the purpose of the wall, but that didn't stop him from complaining about it.

"No wonder this place hasn't evolved in thousands of years. These walls are just pointless obstacles," Shen muttered in his mind while adding a demolition plan for the Hidden Leaf's walls, then lightly raised onto his toes and leaped into the air.

After landing, he looked toward the vast forest ahead and felt a sharp pang of discomfort: "Is Hashirama Senju some kind of poison master? Even after tearing down the wall there's still such a massive natural barrier. No wonder the shinobi world has been chaotic all along!"

Primitive defensive measures like these were obviously hindering progress in this world. Did locking themselves away behind multiple layers of protection really guarantee safety?

The transmigrator sighed, muttering to himself that if only people here had higher awareness, maybe he wouldn't need to bother promoting the trade relations between Konoha and Suna by himself.

Walls not only created physical barriers but also symbolized mental distances between people.

Luckily, he had reincarnated into the Naruto world. If he'd ended up in one of those grimdark author worlds, he'd have been completely lost from the start.

In those kinds of worlds filled with human nature discussions and philosophical thinking, his modest overpowered ability would be practically useless.

"Once peace is achieved someday, you're coming down with it," Shen postponed his demolition plan for the Hidden Leaf walls indefinitely as he moodily wandered through the forest.

"Haha, once I find a good place, I'll go back to sleep. Tomorrow—no, better yet, the day after—I'll pay the Third Hokage an unexpected visit."

This Konoha troublemaker, yawning lazily, had never forgotten or forgiven the Third Hokage's retaliation.

But this wasn't purely revenge. Showing off Hidden Leaf's strength to Sunagakure was his ultimate goal.

He could honestly swear—he wasn't doing this just for the sake of causing chaos.

(Third Hokage: Sure, whatever. Like I'd fall for that.)

"Hmm? Someone was here?" Shen quickly stepped forward, carefully observing the smooth, neat marks etched across the trunks of several trees.

He was certain—these were manmade.

"Not caused by chakra either; it was pure cutting power, though not direct slashing attacks."

Instantly activating his Sharingan, he confirmed there weren't even traces of chakra damage left behind.

From analyzing the almost continuous outlines between tree trunks, he deduced this must have been the aftermath of multiple long-range slash attacks.

"A remote and sharp weapon over forty meters long? That sounded ridiculous." He dismissed the idea immediately—not only because no one might possibly lift something so large, but mainly because in the Naruto world, no one would understand such a reference.

Therefore, he concluded firmly that these were slashing wounds purely made using skill and force alone.

Much like Guy—using peak physical conditioning to unleash powerful taijutsu… hmm, or perhaps it was more like kenjutsu?

"That's interesting. Someone with this kind of talent shouldn't be wasted. Why not recruit him right now—" Shen's eyes flickered as he plotted to recruit this individual.

Ever since obtaining the Chakra Channeling Blade, he had constantly struggled to improve his kenjutsu.

So he began searching throughout this vast forest for all sorts of clues and traces.

Somewhere in the forest outside Konoha Village.

A man in his early thirties, clad in white, stood silently beneath the moonlight, gripping a wooden sword with both hands.

"Ha—"

He slowly exhaled through his mouth, then raised his arms above his head.

The wooden sword didn't stand out at all in this pitch-black forest.

With no flourish, the man simply slashed downward through the air.

Surprisingly, during its descent, the wooden blade made absolutely no sound—not even the friction against the air itself.

At the moment he completed the downward swing, a tree directly before him suddenly developed a strange slash mark across its center.

"Shasha—"

The smooth, flat cut spread upward and downward along the trunk.

And this still-extending slash remained neatly uniform, not resembling at all a typical wound caused initially by a sword strike and spreading outward.

The man's eagle-like eyes locked onto the nearly split-in-two tree before him, seemingly waiting for something.

"Crack—"

A few seconds later, the straight-line slash reached the top of the trunk.

Meanwhile, the lower portion of the cut disappeared directly into the earth without trace.

Satisfied with what he saw, the man turned and strode away confidently.

"Boom!"

He hadn't taken many steps when the entire tree split left and right, crashing heavily to the ground.

Without even glancing back, the man kept walking forward confidently, not slowing his pace, clearly having predicted this result all along.

However, just as he was about to leave the forest, he abruptly lifted the wooden sword in his hand and blocked it in front of himself.

"Bang!"

A loud noise rang out a second later.

He stared blankly at the silver-bladed straight sword resting atop his wooden sword under the moonlight.

"This wooden sword is something special, or perhaps it's just the difference caused by the user?" Shen felt immense curiosity toward this man.

The moment he heard the noise, he instantly activated his Lightning Nature Chakra Mode, managing just in time to locate this fellow.

Looking into the man's eyes, Shen immediately recognized who he was: "Shen Uchiha? I don't recall offending your prestigious clans."

"You recognize me?"

"I believe everyone in the village should know Konoha's infamous instigator."

This straightforward statement made Shen feel awkward immediately; he already deeply regretted stepping foot here.

"Sigh, another victim of bad PR," Shen muttered bitterly.

Then, he sheathed his Chakra Channeling Blade — a weapon taller than himself.

Seeing that Shen posed no threat, the man calmly said as he turned to leave, "Then I'll be off—"

"Not so fast, mister! You trashed the forest, and I haven't even held you responsible for that yet!" Shen radiated righteous indignation, firmly rejecting the man's request to leave.

The man's usual blank expression wavered slightly as he bluntly asked, "Reforestation? What's that?"

Shen clasped his chest in exaggerated despair. "Uncle, don't you have even a shred of compassion? You're cutting down more than just a tree!"

"Then what is it?"

Seeing his chance, Shen immediately put on an overly sorrowful face. "It's the future! Today you cut one tree, tomorrow another. Sooner or later, you'll cut every last tree in the village!"

The longer he listened, the tighter the man's jaw clenched.

Now he truly understood how much trouble Konoha's notorious troublemaker could bring.

Wasn't going out to practice kenjutsu alone reason enough without being lectured like this?

Unseen by the man, Shen flashed a triumphant smile.
