Not far from a civilian village, Team One had gathered to discuss something.
"Shen, do you really think you can arrange accommodations for so many people?"
"No problem at all, Snake Uncle. I'm planning to build an amusement park once we return to the village. That way, we can settle them in first."
"Do you even have a heart? Building an amusement park isn't easier than laying down tracks, is it?"
"Am I that kind of guy? I'll definitely take care of everything like excavators and dump trucks."
"Excavators? Dump trucks? What are those?"
"Forget about that for now, Snake Uncle. We can work on developing these things together after returning to Konoha. By the way, Nayou, aren't you super excited about the amusement park right now?"
"Yeah, if it really lives up to your description, I'll be going there all the time."
"Hmph... You won't regret it, I promise."
Shen was instantly frightened by Nayou's words. What kind of person would actually want to visit an 'adult amusement park' daily?
Was he an idiot? A mad scientist? Or a fearless transmigrator?
It turned out to be a cute seven-year-old girl with good looks, a strong personality, and a normally cold, expressionless face.
Shen's guilt only lasted three seconds. He quickly decided—he'd invite her along for every exciting new 'adult' ride from now on.
After all, weren't they best friends? Of course good things should be shared!
Seeing his expression shift in seconds—from fear to shame to something downright weird—Nayou got a bad vibe.
She knew full well that someone was already plotting something sneaky against her again.
The last time she felt this way was when he dragged her around Konoha setting off sound devices, and earlier when sneaking into the written exam hall for the Chunin Exams.
Shen saw her thoughtful look and realized his little scheme hadn't escaped her notice.
With a bit of emotional intelligence showing through, he quickly assured her, "Relax, Nayou. I'm not gonna pull anything on you."
"Fine," she replied, though her eyes remained filled with deep suspicion.
Quickly changing the subject, he said, "Uncle Kishige looks swamped. I'll go see how his negotiations are going."
With that, he hurried off so swiftly that in the blink of an eye, not even a shadow remained behind.
"Hmph..." Nayou gave a few icy chuckles, immediately deciding that upon returning to Konoha, she'd buy a small notebook and start documenting each and every one of this guy's misdeeds.
"Why do I suddenly feel a chill? That idiot Nawaki must be badmouthing me behind my back again!" Totally unaware, Shen promptly pinned the blame on Nawaki.
Getting goosebumps all over his body, he strode toward a group of suffering civilians nearby.
At the exact same moment, a certain Mole King was stealthily approaching one particular white lab mouse.
"Too easy, seriously too easy. Got both Sword of Kusanagi blades like this. Not a shred of challenge at all."
Indeed, Zetsu, who was muttering under his breath, had already secured both Sword of Kusanagi blades. As the number one employee in the shinobi world, his efficiency was unmatched.
"Can something found in just two or three days really be useful?"
"And one of them is just a blade," Shen remarked, picking up a straight, elongated piece of sharp metal.
This particular knife was nothing special—lacking even a proper handle to grip. If someone wanted to use it in battle, they'd probably need to modify it a bit first before it could be used normally.
"Ugh, this is taking forever. When are they going to come back?"
Zetsu stared at the white lab mouse only partially visible above ground and, out of sheer boredom, kept poking at it with his finger repeatedly.
If a big tech company from another world had seen this scene, they'd have sent a dozen lawyers after him already.
That evening, Team One decided to stay together overnight in this small village, both sides agreeing they'd head back to Konoha the next day.
But for one poor cook, this night was about to become especially rough.
If things continued like this for a few more days, he felt certain—he'd end up becoming a total recluse.
Thus, by the next morning, he resolved to set off early.
"What you make isn't actually bad," Nawaki remarked unusually as they walked.
However, once those words reached Shen's ears, he immediately became annoyed. "Eat, eat, eat! That's all you ever do. Don't you have any bigger ambitions than food?"
Nawaki mimicked Shen's usual calm expression and replied flatly, "Aren't you the one who always says survival is most important? Then isn't eating our top priority?"
Right now, Shen truly qualified as someone who spent his life hunting geese only to be pecked in the eye by one—a classic case of the hunter becoming the victim.
He pointed at the other man with wide-eyed disbelief. "You—you—"
"What 'you'?" A gleaming-eyed Nawaki quickly fired back.
"You think I'll fall for that? Kid, you still have plenty to learn." But Shen clearly had the upper hand.
After declaring he was already a grown-up, he wasn't about to fall for such an old trick anymore.
"I—I—"
"What 'I'?"
"You—you—"
"What 'you'?"
In no time at all, Shen effortlessly turned the tables on Nawaki.
Smiling broadly, he hurried forward, happy to see the white lab mouse still hadn't woken up yet.
Who knows how hard he hit him back then, but judging from appearances, he hadn't killed the guy—though maybe added a few extra mental issues at most.
"Don't you dare run! Explain yourself right now!"
Shen ignored the raging but powerless fury coming from Nawaki. However, as he dived underground, his cheerful expression quickly turned stiff: "The Sword of Kusanagi is gone."
"???"
Everyone froze in shock. How did the most important thing disappear overnight while everything else remained?
"Are you looking for this?" From the rooftop of a nearby ruined house, a dark silhouette raised the Sword of Kusanagi and called down toward him.
"!!!" Staring blankly at the figure, Shen realized immediately something was very wrong.
Wasn't this the same black-clothed ninja who had fled yesterday after being punched away by Nawaki?
"Thanks, friends from Konoha," the shadow said, then turned and ran immediately.
Well, his speed today clearly couldn't compare to how fast he ran away yesterday.
"Snake Uncle, take the white lab mouse that's buried underground here. This person will be your next research subject," Shen instructed in the tone of a major investor.
Orochimaru had no objection and promptly bound the white lab mouse securely.
Shen also took out a piece of paper and quickly scribbled something on it.
"Sorry, Uncle Kishige, we have to chase after the mission target and can't go with you," he said, then tossed the written note and a small scroll toward the other man.
Kishige stood there stunned, holding the two items in his hands. As he read the contents of the note, his expression immediately turned even more frozen.
The note contained arrogant words from the second son of the wealthiest family in a certain village, basically declaring that commoners like them were all employees of the Uchiha Corporation and advising Konoha's defensive ninjas to behave accordingly.
As for the small scroll, it contained some food and daily necessities. After all, how were over a hundred people supposed to keep hunting along the way?
Without paying attention to the still bewildered Kishige, Shen released his prototype vehicle and quickly sat in the driver's seat, urging others, "Hurry up and get on board. There goes my freedom walking off with wings!"
"That was my mission reward!"
"That was my freedom!"
Orochimaru and Nawaki, each with someone slung over their shoulder, quickly shouted corrections.
Nayou got into the car without much thought.
She also urged the two: "Come on, that person runs so slowly; he should be injured."
So, Team One, plus a certain White Lab Mouse, drove off in their car, chasing after their fleeing mission target.
