Like a puppet losing its strings, the Colossal Titan collapsed on the ground.
Feeling the tremors of its demise, Team Third, the Garrison soldiers, all roared victoriously.
Intense joy radiated from them, with happiness and triumph smiling on their faces.
But while they cheered in their victory, Armin stood in silence, a frown on his half-burnt face, looking at the body of the Colossal Titan, which released intense mist.
Noticing his unusual silence, Ian Dietrich approached him.
Hearing the sound of footfalls, Armin, who was glancing down, immediately raised his head and looked at Ian.
Arriving by his side, Ian for the first time got a clear view of his condition, glancing at the half-charred pale face and the various injuries that littered his body. Ian respected how he had charged alone at the Colossal Titan.
While silently admiring him, Ian praised Armin, "You are truly a brave soldier; if you hadn't distracted the Colossal Titan, I don't know if we would have even successfully arrived here."
"Huh," Armin seemed surprised to get the praise, and then with a little shy expression, he replied, "That wasn't much, sir; I just did my job."
"Yes, but you did your job very well, Mr.—"
"Armin, Armin Arlet, sir," Armin quickly said his name.
"Hm, Armin, you have really done a splendid job." Glancing at the massive size of the Colossal Titan, Ian still found it unbelievable that they had taken him down. "It is all thanks to you that this guy has been put to an end."
Looking back at Armin, Ian suddenly asked him, "Is something troubling you?" He looked at Armin with a questioning look; he looked at Armin with a questioning expression.
Hearing this, Armin suddenly seemed to have thought of something, hesitation flashing on his face.
"Don't hesitate," Ian's calm voice rang out. "You should speak your mind."
Exhaling lightly, Armin said, "Well, sir, what is troubling me is that the cut wasn't deep."
"Huh?" A confused expression appeared on Ian's face.
"What I mean is that, when I struck the nape of the Colossal Titan, it didn't cut deep." Armin looked back at the decomposing Colossal Titan. "And then his sudden appearance—I was stationed over the walls, overlooking the distance; there was no sight of it, but then with a sudden thunder, it materialized out of thin air."
"The whole situation is abnormal." With a worried frown, Armin continued, "The way the Colossal Titan has appeared and how he threw the cannons, using them against us, as if he wasn't a mindless Titan but someone..."
"...Someone?" Ian questioned.
"A human," Armin replied.
"That is a strong word to say." Ian exclaimed in surprise.
"I know, sir, but that is what is troubling me."
Armin let out a tired sigh. "I just hope I'm worried for nothing, otherwise...."
"Your worries will be shared by the whole of humanity." Ian strongly stated, "Don't worry yourself too much; for now, focus on the present."
"The problems haven't been completely solved."
Both Ian and Armin looked inside the wall at the broken houses and people running in panic, with titans chasing them.
Although they took down the Colossal Titan, the clouds of gloom and despair still loomed over them.
The loud cheers and the triumphant roar of the Garrison soldiers died down; the initial fervor of winning against the Colossal Titan slowly receded.
"Everyone." Ian's commanding voice rang out.
Causing the soldiers to straighten their backs, looking at Ian Dietrich—their captain—admiration flashes in their eyes.
"We have won the battle, but the war is still going on." Ian's powerful voice quickly reached their hearts. "Humanity is still in turmoil and continues until we finish every Titan that enters the Trost district, so we can't yet celebrate, we can't stop, and we still have to fight, bleed, and die so that humanity can survive."
"Fill up your empty gas tanks and replenish your blades; we are going to wipe out every Titan from the Trost district."
Saying that, the spirited soldiers immediately took action.
Ian, Armin, and other soldiers all started to return to the Trost HQ to regather the supplies.
.....
Inside the Trost district.
In the midst of chaos, a soldier quickly entered inside an abandoned house; his figure wobbled, he quickly found a sofa and instantly sprawled on it.
The soldier, Bertolt Hoover, took deep breaths, steam coming out of his nostrils and mouth.
His body ached in fatigue, having transformed into his titan form; the aftereffects settled over him.
When Armin sliced at the nape of his titan form, he luckily survived by mere inches; after that, knowing the danger in staying there, he quickly faked his fall, and in the haze of mist, he quietly escaped from there.
Still feeling the moment when he almost got cut in half, he shuddered in fear and sighed in relief that he got saved.
Huff
'I have done what I can; now it depends on Reiner and Annie.' Bertolt silently thought, resolution flashing in his eyes.
'This time, we must lure out the Founding Titan; otherwise, it may be too late.'
Since arriving here, in Paradise Island, with the mission of retrieving the founding titan, they have already lost one of their teammates—a titan shifter—which instead puts them under pressure.
And on top of that, with unexpected changes happening, they quickly decided that they didn't have much time, so they must retrieve the founding titan before something unexpected happens.
.....
Boom
A large titan's hand quickly swatted a Garrison soldier.
Who bursts into pieces of flesh and organs.
The titan, who kills the soldier, has golden blonde hair over her head with strong muscles outlined all over her body.
Annie looks in silence at the dead body of the soldier.
Then her cold eyes travel to the soldiers in the distance as they charge at a titan, quickly killing it.
Seeing this, Annie makes a step toward that group of soldiers, knowing that they are that many titans to begin with and if the military soldiers took them down, then their plan of luring the founding titan may fail.
So ignoring the civilians, she immediately targets the military.
