In fact, Morgan had met Vortigern long ago. Their current relationship was even a nominal alliance. That's right, an alliance.
When Cang Ye had been sent out on her orders to find the Saberface and break the Sword of Selection, Morgan had, as she said she would, traveled to the north of Britain, to the White Dragon's stronghold of Londinium, and met with Vortigern. So, in the end, he had no choice but to accept Morgan's 'goodwill' and temporarily form a secret alliance with Camelot. It was only with Camelot's weapons, food, and magical support that the Saxon army, despite losing their divine protection and lacking a strong commander, could barely hold their own against the Celtic forces. But even so, they lost more than they won.
And this situation only worsened after Artoria took command of the Celtic army and boosted their morale with the fame of her Holy Sword. The balance was completely broken.
Yet, under such tense circumstances, Vortigern, instead of rushing to remedy his disadvantage, had specifically sent someone to Morgan to say he wanted to see her knight, Lamorak. This made her unable to understand his actions. If he wanted to 'borrow' Cang Ye to temporarily fend off the Red Dragon's attack, she felt that with Vortigern's personality, he would most likely come in person. But just to see him... that was intriguing.
After careful thought yielded no results, Morgan turned her gaze to Cang Ye. "What are your thoughts, Lamorak?"
Their relationship was now very close. Although Morgan still stubbornly insisted she didn't like him and only saw him as a subordinate and an emotional outlet, compared to before, she now occasionally looked at him as an equal and stood by his side. Sometimes, she would even ask for his thoughts on matters concerning him, instead of making decisions for him directly.
Hearing her question, Cang Ye instinctively began to think, his mind flashing back to his time with the Usurper King and some events from the second simulation. This should be the 'opportune moment' that the 'Dragon Core' reward mentioned.
And for some reason, hearing from Morgan today that Vortigern wanted to see him, he felt as if something had attached itself to him. The feeling was strange. If he had to describe it, it was like being entangled by an invisible thread.
Though puzzled, he first focused on the matter at hand. Thinking it over, he saw no reason to refuse a reward. Besides, he himself had some questions he wanted to ask Vortigern. So, after some thought, he gave his answer.
"My lady Morgan, if the Usurper King wishes to see me, then I shall go. I believe he has no reason to harm me."
"...Are you sure that is what you truly think?" Morgan fell silent for a moment. For some reason, a sense of panic flickered in her heart. The feeling came and went quickly, like a fleeting illusion, but she still caught it.
"My lady Morgan, if you do not wish for me to go, then I will refuse him," Cang Ye said, sensing the slight anomaly in her voice and speaking in the most tactful way possible.
But who would have thought that upon hearing this, Morgan would become inexplicably annoyed? She gave him a dissatisfied look and said coldly, "Lamorak, I have told you before, you do not need to hide your thoughts from me. If you have something you want to say or do, just tell me."

With that, Morgan stopped paying attention to him, rose from her throne, and left the throne room, leaving him standing alone.
Listening to the "clack, clack, clack" of her high heels fading into the distance, a look of helplessness crossed Cang Ye's face.
