Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Bloodbath in the Capital

[The night is the final tenderness. The beginning of dawn, at times, does not signify a beautiful start.]

[From that day on, you became the knight who protected Morgan from the shadows.]

[This was not Morgan's command; on the contrary, it was your request.]

[You understood that even though Morgan didn't say it, her eyes revealed her eagerness to introduce you to the world, to break King Uther's dying curse and show everyone that she, Morgan, was not unworthy of having a knight, not unworthy of being a king.]

[But even so, you still risked her anger to offer your counsel.]

[You said that accepting the fealty of a nameless knight was useless to a monarch and would only invite gossip. Thus, you pleaded for some time to carry out your own plans before she announced you as her knight.]

[By then, you could build great momentum for her.]

[Morgan, being the renowned witch of history, was wise. After some thought, she agreed to your proposal.]

[But before that, you had something more important to do.]

[That was to completely purge and control the royal capital, Camelot.]

[The death of King Uther symbolized the collapse of Britain's surface-level order.]

[Before the prophesied king pulled the sword from the stone and revealed himself to the world, lords and nobles from all over began to grow restless.]

[And the first place to fall into turmoil was the royal capital.]

[Because of your dalliance with Morgan, she did not immediately step forward to consolidate the situation. Thus, in just one day, the rats that had been waiting in the capital began to stir.]

[No matter where, the capital always holds paramount significance and status. In Britain, many understood this point.]

[You and Morgan discussed it and decided to let things play out first. When the rats finally crawled out of their holes to fight over the cake on the table, you would eliminate them all.]

[All those with treacherous hearts would pay the price in blood.]

[Soon, with Morgan's subtle pushing, all the rats were at the table.]

[And so, one month later, as the evening bell tolled, a massive magical barrier descended with the night, enveloping the capital.]

"No... no... no! You can't kill me! I am a comrade who fought alongside Lord Uther, the King of Orkney!"

The grand hall of the palace had long lost the splendor and majesty it had during Uther's reign. The luxurious artifacts and embedded gems had all been plundered, leaving only the solitary golden throne.

If not for the magical enchantments protecting it as a symbol of kingship, making it immovable and indestructible, it would have likely been pried away long ago.

Morgan's fingers lightly brushed across the dusty throne, recalling the image of her father seated upon it. She remembered how she had once yearned for and obsessed over this position, and she couldn't help but feel a little dazed.

However, someone's voice was getting rather grating.

Morgan frowned and turned. The cold moonlight reflected in her deep blue eyes, revealing dozens of knights' corpses below the throne, and a portly figure collapsed in a pool of blood, screaming in terror.

In front of him stood a white-haired knight in dark blue armor, holding a sharp spear. It was Cang Ye, now Lamorak.

And the bodies on the ground were, of course, his doing.

"Lamorak, silence this fool who dared to covet what is mine."

Ignoring the King of Orkney's pathetic pleas, the annoyed Morgan gave the kill order without hesitation.

"Yes, Lady Morgan."

Hearing Morgan's command, Lamorak immediately raised his spear. Before the terrified eyes of the King of Orkney, he pierced his throat, then swiftly stabbed through his heart, killing him completely.

The entire process was seamless, as effortless as crushing an ant.

Lamorak shook his spear, using magical energy to flick the blood from it.

This was a weapon gifted to him by Morgan. Although it was just a standard-issue spear, Cang Ye treasured anything from her.

After doing this, he glanced down at the King of Orkney at his feet and, with the system's help, recalled information about this character.

Hmm... if I remember correctly, this guy should be the father of the Sun Knight Gawain, as well as Gareth and Gaheris.

Well now, look at me. I just happened to stumble upon a rebel trying to seize the throne of Camelot, and it turns out to be this guy.

Excellent. Starting off as the killer of Gawain's father. This is just great.

But seriously, how did this pig-like King of Orkney manage to father someone as handsome as Gawain and someone as adorable as Gareth?

Biology truly is a mysterious thing.

Silently, Lamorak used his spear to smash the King of Orkney's fat face into pulp, then paid him no more mind.

Technically, this man was Morgan's uncle. Since Morgan had ordered his death, he felt no psychological burden.

Even if Gawain found out in the future, Lamorak wouldn't be afraid.

Everything for Morgan.

"Lady Morgan, it seems another group has arrived outside."

Lamorak's ears twitched. He heard the distant sound of footsteps and clanking armor outside the great hall and felt a slight vibration in the ground.

"There seem to be quite a few of them," Lamorak added.

"A mere hundred or so. Kill them all. Lamorak, you can handle a small matter like this, can't you?"

This time, Morgan didn't even bother to turn her head. After speaking, she ignored him.

She slowly sat down on the throne, a faint light flickering in her beautiful eyes.

"As you command, Lady Morgan."

Lamorak performed a knight's salute, then pushed open the great doors of the hall and walked straight out.

As expected, in the moonlight not far away, a group of knights in armor, holding swords, watched him warily.

Evidently, the strong smell of blood from the hall had made them stop here.

Before they could speak, Lamorak raised his spear and pointed it at them, a friendly smile on his handsome, jade-like face.

"Come at me, all of you."

The next moment, as magical energy burst from his body, he shot into the crowd like an arrow from a bow. Before the panicked eyes of the knights, he became a grim reaper, harvesting each of their lives.

In the original Britannic myths, there is the legend of the Knight of the Lake, Lancelot, who stood undefeated against thirty highly skilled knights.

But in the exaggerated world of Type-Moon—where the Greek gods were alien mechs and the Xia Dynasty fell due to contact with ancient gods and indescribable entities—Lancelot must have faced at least 300 men.

The number of knights present here was barely 120. Therefore, against Lamorak, who was empowered by the two great skills 『Incarnated Fae』 and 『Afterglow of the Divine Age』, it was a bloody massacre that took him only two and a half minutes.

And that was with him intentionally trying to get used to his new body. If he were more familiar with it, he probably could have finished them all in under a minute and a half.

"In the end, it was just a light frost."

Feeling his entire body begin to warm up from the exercise, and the pure power surging from within, Lamorak couldn't help but sigh.

Fighting is exhilarating!

[It turns out your deductions were correct.]

[Those nobles and lords who had professed extreme loyalty to Uther and Camelot during your visits swarmed into and infiltrated the capital like a tide within half a month of Uther's death.]

[Just by killing all the nobles and their knights who couldn't contain their greed and entered the palace, you fought until the latter half of the night.]

[Countless bodies carpeted the entire palace, and the blood soaked the ground three meters deep, dyeing it crimson.]

[When you pinned the last knight to the gate, you had successfully completed Morgan's mission.]

[For such an excellent knight, she naturally had a reward.]
