"Therefore, based on my deduction, the mysterious individual who saved Minato today and the mysterious individual who has been secretly residing in the village are one and the same."
Hiruzen Sarutobi paced thoughtfully before the assembled group, his assessment met with unanimous agreement.
After all, the number of top-tier shinobi in the world is limited. The Five Kage essentially represent the pinnacle of current ninja abilities, with perhaps only Hanzo, known as the Demigod, surpassing them.
Under these circumstances, a shinobi exceeding Kage-level strength is exceptionally rare. The existence of one such individual is noteworthy; the appearance of two, both seemingly benevolent towards Konoha, actively intervening to save Konoha, and both proficient in the same black flame technique, is highly improbable.
The most likely scenario is that the mysterious individual who intervened today is the same mysterious individual who has been secretly residing in Konoha.
"To think that this mysterious individual not only masters space-time ninjutsu but also Minato's Flying Thunder God Technique. It's simply unbelievable."
Considering the power of the mysterious individual as described by Minato Namikaze, a palpable sense of awe and unease filled the room. This was a shinobi operating on a completely different level, far surpassing their own capabilities.
Fortunately, this powerful individual was a friend of Konoha, not an enemy.
Subsequently, including Kouki, the surviving Konoha ANBU and Military Police officers underwent questioning by Konoha authorities.
Their testimonies were remarkably consistent with Minato Namikaze's account, thus arousing no suspicion within Konoha.
—These individuals, however, were not so fortunate. Kouki had not wasted Kotoamatsukami on them; he had simply used a standard Mangekyo Sharingan genjutsu to control them. They were, after all, mere insignificant pawns.
Konoha's high command quickly shifted their focus to the "Masked Man." The mysterious individual's repeated interventions to save Konoha were viewed as a positive development; the only immediate threat was the Masked Man.
…
After the Konoha interrogation, Kouki rested briefly before returning to the Konoha Military Police.
Shortly after his return, he and another "surviving" Military Police officer were summoned by Clan Head Fugaku Uchiha.
Fugaku Uchiha's expression was grave. He stared intently at Kouki and the other officer, asking in a low, serious tone, "Can you confirm that the Masked Man who attacked you was an Uchiha?"
"Clan Head, we can confirm. We saw clearly; he possessed a Sharingan," Kouki and the other officer replied truthfully.
Fugaku meticulously questioned them about Obito's dōjutsu and other details, seemingly attempting to confirm Obito's identity.
Unfortunately, the Masked Man had worn a mask throughout the encounter, making positive identification impossible.
"Very well, I understand. Return to the Military Police. Remember, do not discuss the Masked Man with anyone," Fugaku Uchiha instructed sternly.
The Uchiha clan and the village already had deep-seated tensions. If news of a mysterious Uchiha attacking the Hokage and Konoha were to spread, the existing rift would worsen significantly.
Even now, Fugaku Uchiha could sense the suspicion and distrust from the village elders. Hiruzen Sarutobi and Homura Mitokado had both directly and indirectly questioned him about the Masked Man's whereabouts.
"Just who is this Uchiha?"
After Kouki and the other officer left, Fugaku Uchiha fell into deep thought. He racked his brain, but could not recall who this individual might be.
Upon returning from the Clan Head, Kouki resumed his duties with the Konoha Military Police, patrolling the village.
"Kurenai, I bought two movie tickets. Are you free tonight?"
"Asuma, I've told you, stop bothering me! I don't like you!"
"It doesn't matter if you don't like me now; I won't give up. You'll eventually accept me."
"I will never like you. I already have someone I like!"
While patrolling a street corner, Kouki witnessed a heated argument between a man and a woman.
It was Kurenai Yuhi and Asuma Sarutobi. Asuma was relentlessly pursuing Kurenai.
"Kouki, that guy's bothering your woman again."
"Heh, Kouki, looks like someone didn't learn his lesson last time!"
Kouki's companion smirked, looking at Kouki. "Kouki, what are you going to do?"
"Wait here."
Kouki replied casually, striding towards Asuma and Kurenai.
"Kouki!"
Hearing footsteps, Kurenai glanced up and saw Kouki approaching. Her eyes lit up, and she blurted out his name.
Seeing Kurenai's familiar and comfortable demeanor towards Kouki, Asuma's face darkened considerably. His fists clenched involuntarily.
He was envious and resentful of Kurenai and Kouki's relationship, and he couldn't help but recall the humiliation Kouki had inflicted upon him in the past.
"Ma'am, is this man harassing you?" Kouki ignored Asuma's furious glare, addressing Kurenai with a righteous tone.
"Uchiha Kouki, don't push it!" Asuma shouted angrily.
"What? Just because you're the Hokage's son, you think you can ignore Konoha's rules? Get away from Kurenai, or I'll deal with you!"
Kouki turned, looking down at Asuma with a cold, dismissive gaze.
Asuma was furious.
"Kouki, let it go," Kurenai pleaded, tugging on Kouki's arm, unwilling to escalate the situation.
"Whether I let it go or not isn't up to you," Kouki's gaze remained fixed on Asuma, the threat implicit.
"Asuma, leave. Don't bother me again," Kurenai said firmly.
Asuma's face flushed crimson. In the heat of the moment, his youthful arrogance overwhelmed him, and he roared, "You've pushed me too far!"
