Chapter 36 - Chapter 36 Time Stopped

Not long after, Sunny arrived fashionably late; she and Wang Li had forgotten their memories of each other, and with Kim Shin and Eun Tak accompanying her, her days were now quite good.

"Eun Sang, I didn't expect you and Lee Yeong to progress so quickly; you're already preparing for an engagement. Poor me, I haven't even found a boyfriend yet."

Watching Kim Shin and Ji Eun Tak constantly display their affection, Sunny was both happy and sad; it was practically tormenting her!

"When fate arrives, love will naturally follow; you can't rush it!"

"Eun Sang is right, we believe you will definitely meet your Prince Charming, Sunny; at least for now, I'm still single with you!"

"I know you're jealous, alright? We'll just avoid you from now on, hahaha..."

While comforting Sunny, Cha Eun Sang and the other two women didn't forget to tease her. Soon after, everyone was immersed in laughter.

Happy times always pass quickly, and in a flash, it was already afternoon.

...

The news of the East River Sect's annihilation had spread, and under the pressure of public opinion, and also to appease the common people, the General Bureau ordered the joint investigation team to solve the case within three days.

"Everyone, I am Prosecutor Min Tae-yeon, recently transferred to handle this case. I would like to know the current situation in detail."

Min Tae-yeon was a vampire living among humans, possessing acute senses and the ability to see what the deceased saw in their eyes before their death through their blood.

He believed that the result was often more important than the process, and therefore, he would even commit illegal acts for the sake of evidence.

"Last night, everyone in the East River Sect was slaughtered. The East River Sect's mobile unit and headquarters are 20 kilometers apart. A total of 215 people died, with the time of death between eleven and twelve o'clock."

"They were discovered at seven o'clock this morning. All victims were killed with a single blow, all from sword wounds."

"A handgun was found at the death scene of Choi Mu-jin, the leader of the East River Sect, and the fingerprints detected were his. It is presumed that he fired back, but the bullets did not hit the killer."

"At the time of the incident, all surveillance cameras within a one-kilometer radius were paralyzed, and no suspicious activity was found on cameras outside of the one-kilometer range."

Knowing that the newcomer was a Prosecutor, the captains did not hide anything, informing Min Tae-yeon of the general situation of the case and the collected information.

After reviewing all the information, Min Tae-yeon concluded that this was definitely not an internal gang conflict, but a targeted revenge.

"I remember that more than a month ago, Yoon Dong-hoon, the second-in-command of the East River Sect, was shot dead, and the killer has not been caught yet. Could the destruction of the East River Sect be by the same force?"

Hearing this, Cha Gi-ho hesitated a little; however, since the East River Sect had already been destroyed, there was no longer any need to conceal the matter of the undercover agent.

"The killer of Yoon Dong-hoon was Choi Mu-jin. Yoon Dong-hoon's original name was Song Joon-su, and he was an undercover police officer I placed in the East River Sect."

"The bullet in his body and the bullet from the handgun at Choi Mu-jin's death scene were the same, both fired from Song Joon-su's service weapon."

As soon as Cha Gi-ho spoke, everyone's gaze fell on him, as this news was indeed very shocking.

He did not explain further, instead taking out Yoon Dong-hoon's information. Everyone understood that undercover intelligence was absolutely confidential, and even if an undercover agent died before the criminal was caught, their identity could not be exposed.

Min Tae-yeon saw that these materials were not helpful, so he decided to look for clues at the scene.

He really didn't want to use his so-called trump card, as absorbing the blood of the deceased would also make him feel their pain at the time. Unless absolutely necessary, he didn't want to try it.

"I'll go to the scene again. Maybe I can find some clues?"

Everyone did not refuse the Prosecutor's request. Although they hadn't found anything themselves, perhaps this newly transferred Prosecutor had a unique insight.

...

Lee Yeong was unaware of what was happening at the police station. At this moment, he was discussing the engagement banquet with everyone.

"Young Master, Jennifer and I discussed it, and we plan to prepare some entertainment programs, like singing and dancing. What do you think?"

Lee Yeong was well aware of Choi Micheala's little intentions. He had originally planned to give her some surprises anyway, so he simply indulged her.

"No problem, any program is fine; I will also invite some celebrities to attend. I'll leave the arrangements to you then!"

Seeing Lee Yeong agree, Choi Micheala was very excited, looking as if she had "waited so long and finally today has come."

Everyone found it amusing, but they all knew about Choi Micheala's dream of performing and were happy for her.

However, Lee Yeong's next words made her stand rooted to the spot.

"Do you remember I promised each of you one wish?"

"I was originally going to introduce some celebrities to you on the day of the engagement. With their help, you can stand on a bigger stage."

"Consider this a gift for you. I believe you can do it!"

Choi Micheala was already moved to tears upon hearing this. If it weren't for so many people, she would definitely give Lee Yeong a big hug.

In the last moments of her life, being able to meet Lee Yeong was truly a blessing from fate.

"Young Master, thank you. I will definitely perform well!"

Wiping away her tears, Choi Micheala seemed to let go of something, and a genuine smile appeared in her eyes.

Lee Yeong didn't know how much time she had left, nor did he know if Lee Do-ha, whose destiny was arranged for her, would still appear because of him. But he wouldn't let Choi Micheala's time run out and let her die.

He planned to look up Lee Do-ha's information later, but what he didn't know was that just now, Choi Micheala's time had stopped flowing, and even Choi Micheala herself hadn't noticed...

"Brother, what about my, Jennifer's, and Do Jin's wishes?"

It was fine when Lee Yeong didn't mention it, but as soon as he did, Kang Xialan also remembered that Lee Yeong owed each of them a wish. She quickly pulled Lee Yeong, blinking madly.

"No problem, as long as you're not afraid of hardship. Once you start, you can't back out!"

Lee Yeong naturally knew what she meant. Learning some martial arts could strengthen her body and protect herself, which was a good thing for her.

"Do Jin, what about you? Do you still want to be a host?"

"I can introduce you to a TV station for development. With your ability, hosting a program would definitely be very popular!"

Jang Do Jin, however, hesitated. She wanted to strive for it based on her own abilities, but her age and education restricted her.

But becoming a professional broadcaster and host had always been her dream, and she didn't want to miss such an opportunity.
