The acolytes looked at each other before they began to laugh; their laughter turned demonic with each moment. They stopped and looked at White and Anna with cold eyes and demonic grins.
"HAHA! That's funny!" one of the Refined-Seekers stepped forward and dashed towards Anna, and another followed and attacked White.
White and Anna blocked the attacks with their dagger as they moved in a practised synergy, their movements sharp yet nimble. They moved with intent to reap the lives of the acolytes standing before them.
The acolytes were no slouches either; they pushed forward with increased intensity and continued to cut at their flesh.
Blood began to pool on the floor as the duo's injuries worsened, but none of them were lethal, and they were too focused on survival and killing the acolytes that they didn't even care about their own bodies.
