Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: Mangekyō Sharingan

This news quickly spread throughout the village. Although no one spoke of it openly, everyone knew that Mito Uzumaki held the greatest authority and respect in the village.

So when such a high-ranking and powerful figure suddenly declared her intent to adopt a powerless, low-status orphan, how could it not shock everyone?

Still, Uchiha Noboru, being someone capable of serving as the vice-captain of the Police Force, wasn't without insight.

So after his initial shock, he understood Mito Uzumaki's intentions. But this only made Uchiha Hikaru more unreadable in his eyes.

Without a doubt, Uchiha Hikaru had just reminded him of the deeper meaning behind this adoption, prompting him to prepare early.

And that kind of maneuver didn't seem like something a six-year-old could pull off. Precocious or not, this was something far beyond that—he was fully ripened.

As the one in charge of informing Uchiha Hikaru, Uchiha Noboru had of course read his file.

The records detailed Hikaru's behavior from childhood to the present. After all, if he'd shown promise from a young age, the clan would never have abandoned him.

And his parents were merely ordinary Chūnin, who hadn't even awakened the Sharingan.

Under that kind of family and upbringing, it should have been impossible to raise a genius like Uchiha Hikaru.

'Could it be…?'

Uchiha Noboru narrowed his eyes, recalling the immense chakra just now, and a theory began to form.

The awakening of the Sharingan could drastically alter one's personality and power, and Uchiha Hikaru's behavior fit that transformation perfectly.

Combined with the fact that his parents had passed away, Uchiha Noboru began to believe that Hikaru had awakened his Sharingan.

Watching Uchiha Noboru go from stunned to thoughtful, then suddenly enlightened, Hikaru found the expression changes quite amusing.

This level of facial artistry really was impressive—worthy of being a clansman of one of the "Uchiha Three Maniacal Laughing Legends." The expressiveness was top-tier.

As for whether his words truly gave Noboru any clues, Hikaru didn't care. The moment he gave that reminder, he had already prepared for some exposure.

Whether it was Mito Uzumaki's protection or the upcoming evolution of his Sharingan, his household now had enough confidence to risk revealing some trivial truths.

"What's wrong, big brother? Why the silly look on your face?"

At that, Uchiha Noboru blushed, but quickly regained his composure.

Even though he was sure this little brat was pretending to be innocent, the message he had just received was a favor nonetheless. Besides, he had more pressing matters to attend to now.

"Thank you for the warning, Hikaru. I also wish you happiness under Lady Mito's care. But for now, I must take my leave."

With those words, Uchiha Noboru was signaling his approval of Lady Mito's adoption.

It also meant that once he returned, he'd begin laying the groundwork to ensure this matter proceeded smoothly within the clan.

Seeing Hikaru nod in return, Noboru didn't waste another word. He vanished with a Body Flicker.

After he left, Hikaru stood up and changed out of his pajamas. Looking around at the mess in his room, he sighed.

'This was the place the original me lived in since childhood, after all. I should tidy it up.'

Grabbing a broom, he swept away the debris, propped up the fallen furniture, and tossed out anything too damaged.

In no time, the room looked neat again.

And while cleaning, he also took the opportunity to pack the things he needed to take with him.

Standing in the center of the room, Hikaru silently looked around.

'Original me, I've done right by you. On your parents' death anniversary, I'll bring flowers for you every year.'

At that moment, the sound of flowing water breaking through a dam suddenly echoed in Hikaru's mind.

His Sharingan activated again on its own. The three tomoe spun wildly, then linked together into a seamless form.

Unlike other Mangekyō patterns, the one appearing in Hikaru's eyes took the shape of a swirling vortex, with three tomoe at the center.

The pattern bore a strong resemblance to the Rinnegan's design, but retained the crimson color unique to the Sharingan, and included the tomoe as well.

His Mangekyō Sharingan resembled Indra's, but was also distinct in its own way.

As the name implied, there were practically no identical Mangekyō patterns in existence.

The awakening of the Mangekyō also greatly enhanced Hikaru's mental strength. His chakra, already difficult to control due to the morning's system upgrade, now surged uncontrollably due to the spike in spiritual power.

Thankfully, the room had been cleared earlier, and Hikaru stood in an open area, so it didn't result in the same disaster as before.

Even so, the violent chakra cracked the floor beneath him.

At the same time, information about his ocular abilities suddenly surfaced in his mind.

He deactivated his Sharingan and began reviewing it.

First was the divine power—Susanoo. But since he had only just awakened the Mangekyō, he could currently manifest only the skeletal form.

His left eye's ability was Mahāvairocana, which granted fire the attributes of creation and destruction, and allowed him to generate and control flames.

To break it down: the flames generated by this dōjutsu were white and burned at 1500°C, and he could freely manipulate the flames he created.

The flame control wasn't limited to his own jutsu—he could control all fire.

The "creation" aspect allowed Hikaru's future Fire Style techniques to carry healing potential. These flames wouldn't harm people, but rather help heal injuries.

As for the "destruction" aspect, that was simple. If anyone tried to show off with intangibility in front of him, his flames would teach them a lesson.

Destructive flames could break down anything—space included.

His right eye's ability was called Candle Dragon, much simpler by comparison—it allowed him to control the flow of time around himself.

Right now, the maximum multiplier was 2×. For example, doubling his time flow would make his enemies' movements appear in slow motion.

These powers did consume ocular energy, but Hikaru's Sharingan could slowly recover it over time.

As long as he didn't burn it all at once, it would gradually regenerate.

Of course, this was just the icing on the cake. The Idle Training System would eventually upgrade his Mangekyō to have infinite ocular power anyway.

Still, despite how overpowered the abilities sounded, they had their limitations.

For example, the fire control of Mahāvairocana stopped working beyond 3000°C—it could only interfere, not control, past that threshold.

And while the destruction attribute could damage space, it could only create small spatial rifts.

Naturally, just as the Sharingan could evolve into the Rinnegan, these abilities would grow stronger as the eyes advanced.
