Seraphina's POV
Adrian looked confused. "What offer?"
"The one where you said to get my forgiveness, you'd do whatever I want," I clarified.
Understanding dawned in his eyes, and he nodded. "Yes. That offer still stands."
I looked at him for a moment, studying his face. "Are you free tomorrow?"
"No," he said without hesitation. Then his lips curved into the smallest hint of a smile. "But for you, I can clear my schedule."
My heart skipped a beat.
That line. That exact line was what the male lead had used to woo the female lead in one of the romance novels I'd read back in the werewolf world. It had made the female lead swoon, had made her heart flutter with butterflies.
And damn it, it was working on me too.
No! I scolded myself mentally. Stop it, Seraphina! You are not the female lead. This is not some romantic story. This is real life, and this man humiliated you just hours ago. You hate him. Remember? You HATE him!
