Opening the door, Lindy ushered us in. She asked, "So, how are you little guy?"
"Fine," Jacob answered stiffly. He disliked Lindy very much. The only reason he came to her house because of his sister. Apparently, she still liked this woman.
Alice gave her an apologetic smile. She said, "He is tired. Pardon his crankiness."
Lindy shook her head and said, "I understand. It happens with all of us, doesn't it?" She could easily tell Jacob didn't like her. The kid's eyes were constantly glaring at her. Suddenly, an idea entered her mind. She grabbed Alice's shoulder, intensifying his glare.
Confused, Alice asked, "What happened?"
"Nothing, I thought you would be tired as well. Shall I escort you to the dining table?"
"Hmmm, okay."
Jacob immediately grabbed Alice's left leg and clung to her. With a childish voice, he asked, "Will you carry me? I am too tired."
