Chapter 2 - Star Sect

Still holding Alrin in her arms young woman gently laid him on the ground although his body is still in a terrible condition after the trial she was not worried about him dying. Since she was also the one in charge of the trial she naturally had a way to heal him.

Squatting down next to him the woman opened his mouth and placed a golden pill with a star stamped on it inside his mouth. As soon as she did the pill turned into a warm energy that was would restore his corpse like body back to its peak condition in a matter of minutes. After feeding him the pill she didn't get up or move she simple continued to stare at his face with a smile on hers but it was still unknown what she was thinking about.

After a few more minutes Alrin's body was fully restored and his eyes snapped opening ending the nightmare he was having where the last thing he saw was a man plummeting out of the sky that was brought upon by the trial.

The first thing he saw upon opening his eyes was the pink eyes of a beautiful young woman with white hair wearing white and gold robes. For a moment he felt as if he had met her before but he quickly dismissed that idea their was no way he could have forgotten someone like her.

"Congratulations you've successfully passed the trial" she said as soon as he opened his eyes. Taking a stand the woman offered him her hand.

"Thank you, senior ." He said taking her hand although he had a moment of confusion since the trial had brought back unpleasant memories.

"No need for the formalities I'm Alara Nightstar but just call me Alara since we're the same age and we will be friends." She confidently said.

Hearing that Alrin naturally hesitated for a moment before deciding what to do. Clasping one hand over the other he bowed towards her still maintaining a respectful distance, "I'm Alrin Sunsetter and I'll be in your care Alara."

Hearing him use her name caused Alara to smile in satisfaction before she began to explain where he was since he passed the trial.

"Passing is made to bring you to the top of the fourth peak. Since you are now that you are part of the sect you should bask in its glory." She said pulling him to the edge of the peak.

What he saw was a beautiful view that he had seldom had the chance to see before. In the middle of 5 mountains stood the Star sect. Since it was early in the evening the aura of cultivators could be seen glowing as they flew all over the sect. Some could be seen flying on top of swords while other flew on top of mounts and a few even flew without the aid for external help something only true immortals could do.

The sect was very lively as it was still early into the evening. Cultivators could be seen sparing as Alrin watched the appearance of a a dragon made of flames soared into the sky in order to attack another cultivator. In comparison to the dragon the cultivator looked minuscule as he only held a sword but in an instant the man in the sky drew his sword and slashed destroying it in one move along with creating a large crevice in the ground of the arena. Just as the two were going to continue another appeared stopping them before proceeding to scold the two of them due to the scale of their attacks.

"Lively isn't it." she said with a smile.

"It looks quite peaceful." Fortunately Alrin had been cultivating for many years at this point and his senses were far better than an ordinary person otherwise he would have never been able to tell.

"Yes, despite her faults only someone like the founder would be able to create such a sect." After saying such she blew a whistle summon a mount. Only moments after she whistled a phoenix appeared and upon seeing her it bowed its head.

Seeing a phoenix being so casually used as a mount reaffirmed Alrin's decision to come join Star Sect. It was after all an immortal level Sen beast.

"Hop on I'll give you a tour before taking you to where you will be living from now on." She said as she jumped on.

Alrin wasn't one to be afraid of getting hurt or dying so he also got onto the legendary bird without fear.

"Is their really nothing else to joining the sect?" Alrin asked before they took off.

Hearing his question Alara chuckled slightly, "Alrin no need to overthink it you've officially become a disciple of the Star Sect after you passed the trial of will and heart."

"Is heart what the second part what?"

"Indeed you can't join the Star Sect if you have an evil hear no matter how talented you are." After saying that they took off.

As they soared through the air Alrin felt a bit of melancholy as he looked down on the sect. He had truly been through a lot over the years to reach this point but this was just the starting point of his journey.

Although Alara had said she would only show him around for a bit a few hours quickly passed causing Alrin to feel a bit troubled. It had been quite a long time since he had exchanged more than a few words with someone other than Kor which even that was Alrin mostly ignoring Kor. Yet now he was dealing with an incredibly friendly senior sister of his causing him to feel quite a bit awkward.

Fortunately for Alrin after being show most of the sect their Alara was finally taking him to his cultivation cave and while it was called a cave it was not an actual cave. A cultivation cave was simply a term from ancient time that has stuck around and was now used to refer to a home that was made for cultivators that increased the natural amount of Life Essence for cultivation.

"And this is where you will be staying. I personally picked it since it's one of the best caves an outer sect disciple can have." She said with a smile handing him an obsidian plaque with an inscription on it.

"Thank you for taking the time to show me around Alara."

"No need to thank me I already said it were friends now."

Hearing that Alrin was a bit speechless for a moment it was not because he disliked her in fact he felt a strong affinity with her but he was just so used be being alone that he found it difficult to deal with her, "Then I'll look forward to seeing you again."

"Ah I almost forgot do you have a space ring?" Space rings were used not only for storage since they contained a large space within them but also for communication.

"I do." He said pulling out the ring from his clothes.

"That's a very cute ring." She said upon seeing white and pink ring he pulled out.

"Thank you." He plainly said in response

She felt his something was off when she mentioned the ring so she didn't say anything else. Instead she tapped her black ring with a golden coiled dragon on it on with Alrins ring. Everyone that used Sencia had a unique energy signature and tapping the rings was a quick way to add it to ones own for communication.

"I'll come visit in a few days to see how your doing but if you need anything feel free to let me know." She said taking off.

After she left she immediately sent him a message as a reminder, "Remember although the sect leaves us with a large amount of freedom in what we do you do have to make some form of contribution to the sect every three months. This can be taking as simple as taking a mission or as grand as a discovery of a fallen world." Alara said giving him one last reminder.

Seeing the message he kindly thanked her before entering the first home he has had since he was a child but upon entering he was only searching for one specific room.

Being a small cave he quickly found the room he was looking for. This room was empty except for the obsidian mat sitting atop the wood floor covered in some type of formation he was unable to understand.

Sitting atop the mat Alrin immediately felt delighted as he felt his connection to the elements contained within Sencia boosting his cultivation speed.

At the same time in another part of the sect Alara had returned to her master's cave having sensed her return to the sect.

"To think the heaven's blessed would actually take an interest in someone." Joked a tall black haired woman with gray eyes wearing red robes and holding a gourd of alcohol named Lilith Nightstar.

"Tch, I thought you'd be gone for a few more days. Did the Sacred Sect leader finally give up on you?" Alara questioned.

"Of course not, I heard my dearest daughter was personally showing someone around the sect and hard to rush back and see who could have possibly interested you." She said looking off into the distance seeing Alrin sitting on his obsidian mat. "He's handsome but I can't see what about him caught your interest. Maybe I should go take a closer look at him?" She asked with a grin the whole time.

Hearing that Alara simply glared at her causing Lilith to let out a small laugh.

"Fine, fine I won't mess with him but what did catch your interest?" Lilith asked.

"It will be faster if you see it for yourself." Alara said retrieving a obsidian slip from her black space ring. Once retrieved it went flying towards Lilith's hand landing gently in it. Capable of storing information all a cultivator had to do was connect their minds to it and they could easily see the information it contained. Within this jade slip was a recording of Alrin's trial.

"Not bad but it still doesn't measure up to you anything else?." Lilith said having watched a recording of the trial.

"Intuition." Alara bluntly said

"Well I won't stop you, your life is your own. Just be careful not to fall for somebody whose abilities don't match up to yours it only ends in tragedy." Lilith said thinking about the numerous times she has seen it happen. "Well at least in this case he at least has a strong will those types of men are always a good choice."

"Shouldn't you be focused on yourself I know you've never been married let alone a union of paths." She said with a snarky grin.

"Get out of here, cheeky brat." Lilith said flicking her finger in Alara's direction sending her flying away. "Oh yeah be prepared for an intersect competition. The participants for the trial of the fallen world will be decided in a year." Her words echoed in Alara's head as she flew all the way back to her own cave before landing safely.
