Monday morning arrived with the inevitable return to corporate life following what had been, without question, the most magical weekend of my existence. Our families had all departed back to Bellwood—my parents, Jasper's parents, Natalie's parents, and Darren's parents—leaving Morris and me to adjust to our new routine.
Morris had spoken with Kayla about joining our household full-time. He'd significantly increased her salary since she'd soon be caring for another child, news that brightened her entire demeanor. He'd also persuaded her to relocate to our residence, allowing her to earn rental income from her small house while enjoying more companionship. Though I suspected her enthusiasm had less to do with the practical arrangements and more with spending additional time near Albert, as the two seemed completely engrossed in each other's company whenever they conversed.
