Morris's POV
Eddie was driving me insane. Now he was complaining about the office floor of all things, but I knew he wasn't going anywhere. I couldn't tolerate this insufferable man another minute. The audit team was digging deeper into years of financial records, and Harris warned it might take considerable time. Meanwhile, I was stuck dealing with this nightmare.
I'd been sequestered in my office all day handling our New Fisher clients. The contract negotiations were progressing exceptionally well, and they were interested in expanding their business with us. Jason and I had been compiling extensive documentation they requested. Travel would likely be necessary soon, but perhaps some distance would do me good.
"I return after a month-long journey and there's no celebration? Not even a single balloon? What kind of friends have I raised?" Paula waltzed in with her usual humor. "Though I must say, this office looks spectacular!"
