Monica's POV
Two weeks had flown by since I resumed my position at Group Lorenzo. The audit was progressing smoothly under my supervision, and everything seemed to be falling into place professionally. Morris and I had settled into a delicious routine of teasing, passion, and chocolate cake indulgences. True to his word, he'd fulfilled his promises about his desk, his chair, and that couch—my goodness, that couch had stories to tell now. Most nights were spent at my apartment, with Saturdays reserved for his place.
Life felt nearly perfect. I had a boyfriend who adored both me and my son, friends who brought joy to my life, and a career that challenged and fulfilled me. Eddie still lurked around the office, searching for opportunities to approach me, but Colin remained vigilant, ensuring those opportunities never materialized.
