As they continued through the Hall, Jack noticed the subtle ways other gods observed their passage.
Some showed mild curiosity about the mortal in their midst, while others displayed obvious contempt for non-divine presence in their sacred space.
They passed groups of gods engaged in various forms of business. Negotiations over which pantheons would influence specific worlds, debates about where resources should go and the casual discussions of mortal affairs that would reshape entire civilizations.
"It's overwhelming," Jack admitted, watching a group of gods argue with what appeared to be deities from some technological pantheon about mining rights on uninhabited planets.
"It should be," Draven replied without attempting to minimize the scope of what Jack was witnessing. "You're seeing the machinery that drives reality itself, the decision-making processes that determine the fate of countless mortal realms."
