Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 – Betrayal’s Shadow

Elena's firm was in freefall. She'd lost three major clients in one week, and her employees were starting to panic.

Late one night, as she sifted through endless files, her assistant knocked timidly. "Elena… this just came for you."

It was an envelope, sealed with Blackthorne Enterprises' logo. Inside was a letter addressed to her father, dated two years before his death.

Elena's hands shook as she read the contents. The letter suggested her father had once worked closely with Damian—had even trusted him. But why?

Her mind spun with questions. Had Damian been targeting her firm out of revenge? Or was there a deeper connection she didn't understand?

Determined to find answers, Elena decided to confront Damian in person. She drove to his penthouse, her heart hammering as she stepped out of the elevator and knocked on the door.

When he opened it, shirt sleeves rolled up and tie loose around his neck, Elena's breath caught. He looked… different. Almost human.

"We need to talk," she said, holding up the letter.

Damian's expression hardened instantly. "Where did you get that?"

"My father kept secrets from me," Elena said, her voice trembling. "You're going to tell me the truth, Damian. All of it."
