Chapter 10 - Okay, I'm ready.

Nikolai POV:

The mate bond works indescribably fast. Well you saw what happened with Rose and Keegan. It took all of twenty minutes and now they are attached at the hip. "Paige, Rose, I'm sure gonna miss you girls but I'm so glad you get to experience something so amazing as the mate bond. It's the best thing I've ever experienced except for being a mother." The she-wolf spoke again. "Really?" Page asks her eyes brightening at the thought of actually being happy.

"Yes. Now go. Go with your mate. I'll close the diner early and take care of everything. Before you go though you need to take your get away cash." The she-wolf continued. "Trust your feelings and just let him love you. You will make a great Luna." She said proudly and kissed Paige on the cheek. "Okay." Paige said then the she-wolf turned to me. "My name is Sally Vandores. It is nice to meet you." She says extending her hand. I take it and give it a shake. "Alpha Nikolai Greystone." I reply politely.

We let go and she takes a step towards Rose before turning back to say. "Take care of my girl. She is special." And then goes to give Keegan the same speech before disappearing into the back. "I need to go get a few things. Could you take me?" Page asks touching my arm lightly. With her free hand and the sparks intensify.

Paige POV:

When I touch his arm with my other hand the tingles intensify and it makes me want to moan. Instead I let out a satisfied sigh and take a step closer to him. D**n I wonder what it will be like when we... "Yes my beautiful Luna. I'll take you." Nikolai says softly wrapping his arm around my waist and pulling me into a hug. It feels so good.

I inhale deeply and I love the way he smells. It's like a forest after a good rain. "You smell so good." I say before realizing it. "So do you." He growls lightly. But it doesn't scare me. It does the opposite. It makes me want him more. I have never been this attracted to anyone. Not even Trevor. "Let's go my Luna. I want to get you out of here." He says to me. I see his eyes glazed over and Ryker takes Trevor away.

I felt a rush of relief and let out a breath. "Okay let's go I'll show you the way." I say and step back from Nikolai. I shouldn't be so attracted to him like this. It isn't normal after everything I've been through. But I can't fight it either. Guess I'll have to do what Sally said. Follow my instincts and my heart. Trust the mate bond. Besides I do deserve to be happy right?

Nikolai leads me to the car and opens the passenger door. I slide in and he settles behind the wheel. I give him the simple directions and fifteen minutes later we arrive at Trevor's. Nikolai is right on my heels as we enter the house. I go to the room and gather the only thing I want. My mother's golden necklace, and my father's pocket watch.

"If you don't want to take clothes from here that's fine. We can buy some new ones." Nikolai says entering the door to the bedroom. "Really? You wouldn't mind?" I ask a bit shocked. "I would not. We can stop on the way home." He smiles and comes to kiss my hand. Those delicious tingles spread through me again and I suppress a moan.

"Is it just me or do the tingles feel like they are more intense?" I ask a little breathy. "They will continue to intensify until we mate and mark then they reach the peak and stay there." He says brushing his finger along my lips. I couldn't hold in the little moan that left my lips as I closed my eyes. When I opened my eyes and looked at him, I could see desire in his eyes. He growled lightly and chuckled.

You are going to be the death of me my sweet." This time when he spoke it was a deeper almost growl. I noticed his eyes had changed to a beautiful molten silver. "I am Kaelen, Nikolai's wolf. Your other mate." He smiled and I felt my heart skip a beat. His voice made me want to throw him into bed. But I couldn't do it here. Too many bad memories. Too many nights being told I wasn't good enough.

"Okay, I'm ready." I said confidently and took one last look around the room. Then I took Nikolai by the hand and led him out to the car. I placed my keys in the door on my way out. It was as if a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. The further we drove the lighter it got. We made it back to the diner and said our goodbyes to Sally. She gave me my get away money and I hugged her tight.

The last thing she said was "Trust your mate. Give yourself to him and he will not betray the bond." I hope she is right.
