The battle power detection glasses quickly displayed Kakarot's location and battle power readings. Her battle power had also increased during this time, from three to six. Her location was about ten kilometers southwest.
It seemed she hadn't slacked off and had been diligently training in the Satan Fighting Technique that Broly taught her.
Since Kakarot was unharmed, Broly decided to first assess the situation. If she had truly transformed into a Giant Ape, it was impossible not to attract the attention of the FBI or S.H.I.E.L.D.
Maybe she was being controlled.
After crossing a field of destroyed corn, Broly entered Eagle Farm. Cade Eagle and his daughter, Tessa Eagle, were cleaning up the ruins together. Their house had been the most severely damaged, almost reduced to rubble. The father and daughter were trying to salvage anything usable from the wreckage to recoup their losses.
Seeing Broly return, Cade immediately looked as if a disaster had befallen him. He had watched the entire riot in Mexico City on FOX and instantly recognized Broly in the video. Then, he saw the news about the Reyes Group's downfall. In his mind, Broly was now akin to a demon crawling out of hell.
"What happened?" Broly gestured towards the destroyed cornfields and houses.
"A Giant Ape, similar to King Kong, suddenly appeared from the desert last night and wreaked havoc everywhere," Cade explained immediately.
Broly's expression was a little strange. It seemed the Eagles didn't know the Giant Ape was Kakarot. But unless one had seen it with their own eyes, most people wouldn't believe that a young girl could transform into a Giant Ape after seeing the full moon.
"Where's Kakarot?" he asked.
Cade Eagle's legs went weak, and he almost collapsed. He had actually planned to find some valuables and then run away with his daughter, but who knew Broly would return just then.
He felt like the sky was falling.
Kakarot used to go out every morning and wait for Broly in the wilderness outside of town, returning only late at night. Tessa had accompanied her at first, but then discovered that ordinary adults couldn't harm Kakarot at all. Plus, with her heavy schoolwork, Kakarot had been going alone for the past few days.
The Giant Ape had come last night, wreaking havoc in Lachitas Town. After the riot subsided, Kakarot never appeared. Clint was terrified and frantically searched for Kakarot around Lachitas Town, but found nothing.
"She's missing... maybe... maybe she was killed by that Giant Ape," Cade stammered.
"What happened to the Giant Ape? Was it finally subdued?" Broly asked. If Kakarot had been subdued, things would be a bit troublesome.
"The town police were no match for that Giant Ape. Their police cars were thrown onto the rooftops. After firing a few shots at the Giant Ape, they ran away. Then, a group of black-clad agents came and drove the Giant Ape into the desert," Cade Eagle described what happened that night. Those black-clad agents were now living in the town and warned the townsfolk that they hadn't killed the Giant Ape, and it could return at any time.
This warning didn't calm people down; it triggered an exodus. Almost everyone was fleeing Lachitas Town. Those who were quick had left last night, and another large group left after packing their belongings this morning. Cade had spent a lot of time searching for Kakarot, otherwise, he would have left long ago.
Texas was known for its strong folk customs, but it wasn't so strong that people would want to live next door to a Giant Ape dozens of meters tall.
"Black-clad agents?" There were too many spy organizations in the United States; it was impossible for non-professionals to distinguish their identities.
"You don't need to leave Lachitas Town; that Giant Ape won't appear again," Broly said. He planned to find Kakarot first.
Cade Eagle breathed a huge sigh of relief when he saw that Broly didn't blame him for losing Kakarot, as if he had returned from hell to heaven. Seeing that Broly seemed to be preparing to eliminate the Giant Ape, he was even more delighted.
In the eyes of many, being a farmer in the United States seemed like a very happy profession. But a considerable part of farmers were on the verge of bankruptcy, relying on loans to survive. Most farmers had cash flow problems. They needed loans to pay for pesticides, expensive Monsanto seeds, and the rent or repair fees of agricultural machinery.
They had to wait until the crops were harvested before they could repay the loans. Because of the decline in commodity prices, the pressure on the US agricultural sector had been increasing for many years. Their income was only half of what it was six years ago. They could only rely on US government subsidies for agricultural production to maintain this fragile balance.
Government subsidies already accounted for 12% to 24% of the producers' total income.
The Giant Ape's attack broke this fragile balance. Most farms in Lachitas Town would at least experience a sharp drop in production. Farmers who couldn't repay their loans would instantly go bankrupt, and even some small banks would go bankrupt due to overdue loans.
If the Giant Ape didn't come again, he could still stay and take care of the remaining corn in the fields. After the harvest, he might be able to barely repay the loans. Unfortunately, Tessa couldn't go to New York to study. He couldn't afford the expensive tuition now.
Broly didn't know so many thoughts were running through Cade's mind. Since a special agent organization was active, he didn't adopt the world-shocking method of running over there. He borrowed the car keys from Clint and drove towards Kakarot's direction.
The vast, yellow sand. The desert north of Lachitas Town was originally deserted. Only a few mules would pass through here to avoid DEA searches. After the Giant Ape appeared, even the mules, who didn't care about their lives, dared not approach this area.
Broly's hand on the steering wheel suddenly paused. A battle power reading suddenly appeared in the desert, with about twenty people. Their battle power was all around ten, and the highest even reached fifteen, comparable to Wade. This was a well-trained team. It was probably the agents who had driven off Kakarot.
They also discovered Broly. Five black, full-size Chevrolet Suburban SUVs surrounded the beat-up pickup truck.
"Sir, what's your name?" a slightly bald agent came down from the car, sizing up the person in the car. He found that there was only one person in the car, a handsome, elegant man, wearing a well-fitting suit. He had a great figure and belonged to the kind of person who would immediately attract a crowd of young girls if he ordered a drink at a bar.
"Bruce Wayne," the person in the car replied and handed over his driver's license.
Phil Coulson checked the driver's license and found that it didn't seem fake.
"Mr. Wayne, there are monsters appearing in this desert recently. Please leave here as soon as possible," he returned the driver's license to "Bruce Wayne."
"Ha, I'm a mystic enthusiast. I came from Austin because I heard there were monsters appearing here," "Bruce Wayne" said, showing the SLR camera on the passenger seat. His expression was natural, and he didn't show any abnormalities.
Phil Coulson pondered for a moment and returned to his car.
"Mr. Wayne, you'd better be careful. If you really encounter that Giant Ape, we won't risk rescuing you."
