Chapter 2 - You were meant to see me

Liza stood by the window. Though it was morning, the sky was still covered with clouds, and not a trace of sunlight had appeared. The events of last night still echoed in her mind — the terrifying sound of gunshots, the masked men in black clothes, and… that man.

The one whose eyes held a mysterious pull, a gaze that spoke everything without a single word.

Then, that letter.

She had found it in the morning, a small envelope placed under her door. No sender name — only her name written on the front: "Liza."

She opened it, and a small piece of paper slid out:

"Stay away from the rain… especially at night. You don't belong here."

— D

Just a single letter at the end — D.

Who is D? What does he want? Was he that silent man from last night? Or someone else?

Liza's breath grew heavier.

Was this city not meant for her? She had only come here to study. After losing her father at a young age, her mother had raised her alone.

But this city… this city kept reminding her she wasn't safe here.

Today was her first day at the new college.

Despite the fear, Liza composed herself. She couldn't back down now — she had come to fulfill her father's dream. She would study and build a safe future for herself.

Wearing a white shirt and a blue skirt, she slung her bag over her shoulder and stepped out.

As she walked down the street, the image of those eyes came back to her — there was something magnetic about them, as if they had silently whispered secrets only to her.

But why?

When she reached college, she felt a little uncomfortable at first — a new environment, unfamiliar faces.

But soon, she met a girl.

Her name was Zareen — lively, talkative, and kind.

"You're new here, right?" Zareen asked with a cheerful smile.

Liza nodded with a soft smile. "Yes, it's my first day."

"Come, I'll show you your class." Zareen took her hand.

As they walked, they chatted casually.

"This city is beautiful, but..." Zareen paused.

"But?" Liza asked curiously.

"But you should be careful. Especially at night, and when it rains... strange things can happen. Things you wouldn't believe.

There are rumors... that the mafia operates here, under the protection of the rich.

No one dares to speak out."

Liza shivered. Her heart skipped a beat.

Last night's events became clearer in her mind.

"Have you seen anything?" Zareen suddenly asked.

Liza shook her head. "No… nothing."

She knew that admitting the truth would be like digging her own grave.

But those mysterious eyes still haunted her.

Who was he?

Why did he spare her?

And why the letter?

The day passed with classes and introductions to new friends. But Liza's mind wasn't in it.

Zareen noticed too.

"Something's wrong, Liza. Your eyes look… scared."

"No, it's nothing," Liza replied. But her voice trembled.

Before sunset, Liza returned home.

But the moment she closed the door, she froze.

On the table was a red rose… and a small note.

"You were meant to see me."

— D

Liza's heart pounded.

Who was this D?

Was he watching her all the time?

How did he know where she lived?

Once again, the image of the man in black rose in her mind. His eyes weren't threatening — they were possessive.

"Forget what you saw…"

But how could Liza forget?

That night, a light drizzle began.

Liza stared out of the window, lost in thought.

Suddenly, her phone buzzed with a notification.

She calmly picked it up and saw a message — from an unknown number.

She opened it:

"Are you asleep, baby? If not, then fall asleep soon."

— D
