The dream-eater, when it saw that I wasn't cowering in fear, became visually upset. The grin on his face disappeared, and so too did its mouth. The only thing visible on its 'face' was just the soulless black eyes.
I didn't wait for anything and used my staff to create light-constructs. They were beyond basic, the only thing I needed them for was to kill as many demons as possible. The constructs tore through the first row of weaker demons that were in front of me.
With that done, I gave the order
"KILL THEM ALL. MAKE THEM FEEL FEAR!!"
I wanted all of them to die, to kill them all, to make them feel helpless like I did. They would all die painfully, I would take that heart. I couldn't see what my summons were doing, but I knew they were doing something based on the howling, growling, and screams that came from all around me.
It almost reminded me of Hour of Joy, the sounds of death. The sounds of fear, of tearing, of fighting, and of pure chaos.
I didn't bother with the carnage that was happening around me. If Ruby died, then he would come back. His soul was tied to me, and I couldn't die. Emerald was just a demonic wolf, that I thought would be 'cool' if I tied to Ruby. Emerald`s death didn't mean shit for me, and Onyx that thing could go to hell for all I cared for it. It was only an experimental creature with the only purpose to help me with my task. Nothing more, and nothing less.
Their job was to distract the other demons so that I could kill the main one. If they died in the process then so be it.
The power that Ruby offered me was coursing through my body, as I came closer to the dream-eater. I wanted to be as physically strong and capable as possible. Ruby`s power was a boost that I would need in this fight.
The second light-constructs that I had formed blocked the dream-eater from leaving in the shadows. Once that was done, I ran up the stairs towards the demon. Taking out holy water I throw it at him.
The demon covered his face, screaming and riving in pain. The water acting like acid as smoke and hissing sound could be heard from it. When I finally got by him, I didn't do anything but punch him as hard as I could. I wanted to hurt him physically, not with just magic.
The demon slide just a few inches away from me, and he was about a hand reach away from the door. If I could get him in the ballroom, then I could do the ritual there. The demon looked up at me, his face still burning. It growled at me, the shadow tentacles reached for me but I saw them coming. It was easy to dodge out of the way. My body was faster, stronger, the mask allowing me to see as clear as day. The robe giving me increase strength and speed.
The third light-construct was just a giant block of light. The dream-eater was trapped. It couldn't leave left or right as the light-constructs I had made were still there. It couldn't go forward, because I was currently blocking the way. So, when it saw the flying block of light the only thing it could do was brace for impact.
The door busted open, as the demon was thrown into the ballroom. I didn't even give it a chance, as I threw more holy water at it. While the demon was trying to recover from my attacks, I used the wands to make a pre-made circle. It only took less than a second to throw the wands out and them making and completing the circle. Once the circle was made, I invoked the ritual.
Total time from me coming in and knocking this demon on his ass was maybe less than five seconds total. It was hard to tell with the rush of power and adrenaline I was feeling. It was amazing, I felt so fucking alive right now.
"GET UP! SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT!" I couldn't help but say to the demon, that was trying to stand. It knew what I had done. No words were needed for me to know how mad it was at me. The rage on its face was all I needed.
The demon tried again to use its tentacles to grab or hold me, but it couldn't even touch me. I could feel that it was trying to make me freeze with fear, or despair but that didn't work either.
I parried the strike that had came towards me, and knew what to do. With the momentum from the strike, I spun around and cut through the tentacle. The tentacle fell immediately to the floor, and the part that connected to the demon was hissing. The demon recoiled from that, bring all its limb back towards him.
Taking that small window of his recoil, I did a binding spell with my staff. It wasn't really a full binding spell. The only thing it did was use holy/light magic to create chain like structures that held a demon. It wouldn't last long, but a few seconds was all I needed.
The demon didn't know what had hit it after the moment it recoiled. All it saw was me pointing a staff at it and then chains appeared around it. The chains bound the demon`s limbs, making him collapse on the floor.
Racing towards him, I took my sword and swung it as fast as I could. With that the demon`s leg was cut from its body. Another cut saw one of his arms gone. Leaving the demon with only one leg, one arm and the shadow tentacles on its back by the time the spell broke and freed him.
As our fight continued it tried to do anything it could to hit me, claw at me, to do any type of damage. But, it all ended in failure.
My fear, my nightmare, the demon that killed me my first night here laid at my feet. I had cut all of its limbs, it was simply a no limbed creature wanting death. I wanted more.
Dropping the sword, I got close to its face and starting hit it. The black soulless eyes stared at me. Its face showed rage, but the eyes didn't relieve any emotions that it might have. I punched it again, the mouth tried to bite me. But, again I punched it. I just kept punching it.
It felt good to have this much power, to not feel helpless. To not feel weak. I don't know how many times I punched this thing in the face. When I was satisfied I did the next step in the ritual.
Using my sword I cut the chest of the demon. There I flayed open his skin, broke and tore through its muscle and bones to find my prize. The heart, the thing that would give me power and strength in this world. The SCP universe was beyond dangerous, with world ending threats happening every year. I wanted to have power, I wanted to be ready.
The heart continued to beat in my hands even after I took it out of the demon. The blood that ran down my hands felt cold, not warm like normal blood but cold...freezing even. The next part was my turn.
It was painful breaking my ribs, only to realize that I would need to rip them out. Breaking my ribs wouldn't allow enough space for the heart. So, that is what I did. Tore and ripped my insides trying to reach my heart.
When I finally ripped my heart out, I immediately put the new one in.
It felt cold, I felt a wave of coldness rushing through me.
Pain, pain like when the worms were given to me. I felt a change in my body.
'SNAP'
Screaming left my throat, that was all I could do. Darkness was approaching me from all sides; I couldn't fight it. I couldn't do anything but let it embrace me.
I felt like I was drowning, trying to reach the surface but only to reach nothing but liquid. I couldn't see, couldn't hear, couldn't anything. The only sensation I had was that of drowning, and my movements through this water.
It was in that moment of darkness, of drowning in fear that I saw light above me. The only thing I could do was swim towards it as best as I could, but then I felt something grab my feet.
I looked down and saw skeletal undead hand grabbing my foot and others reaching for me. They were all trying to grab on to me, trying to pull me towards them. Their faces changed constantly from the faces of the undead to the faces of living people. They were all part of some massive dark tide, reaching out for anything to get them out of their current massive collective form. The faces went from screaming, to rage, to crying, to happiness. Constantly changing forms.
I tried to use my spells, but nothing worked. No voice, no equipment, no magic. I tried swimming as fast as I could, but the more I tried going to the light the more I saw that it slowly dimming away.
There were more hands now grabbing me, pulling me. They had started at my feet, then my legs, and up to my face. There was a moment when I felt the cold hands of the undead on my cheek. It forced me to look at it, and there I saw nothing. Just a hooded figure staring at me, and then it screamed at me.
[A/N this is what Max saw]
I woke up to sunlight hitting my face. I jolted upright to see if anything happened, or had anything changed. The castle hadn't changed, but I felt different.
It wasn't like with Ruby, I felt…just different. I looked down at my arms to realize that my veins were black. I was light brown skinned person, but even then the black veins in coursing through my body were clearly visible. I wanted to freak out, but it just felt…normal. Like I always had black veins in me.
I couldn't understand the feeling, but everything felt different but normal at the same time. Like it was always like this, but then never supposed to happen. Lets check to see if any of my summons are still alive.
"Come here" My voice was still the same, that was good.
Ruby emerged from the shadow, along with onxy, emerald, and finally the dream-eater. I was surprised that they were alive.
"Return" and they did. They went back into the shadows from where they had emerged from.
I walked outside the ballroom, expecting to see carnage and blood. No, what I saw was a 'normal' entrance to the castle. The demons had disappeared for the day, but tomorrow they would be back. Tomorrow was the day that this place would be clean.
I made my way to the exit, and continued walking outside. The sun was bright in the sky as I made my way through the city. 'My city' I couldn't help but think. I had conquered this place, saved the townspeople, killed the monsters.
It was all mine by right of conquest.
[Please comment on how I did with the fight scene. There will be more fight scenes in the future, with this being in the SCP universe and all. I want to improve them as best as possible, so tell me what I can do improve on.]
