"I can promise on my good name that it's not a trap."
The Blue Fox insisted as he gathered the papers that had flown around the room. "Though, I'd appreciate you sharing a bit of your findings with me after you check it out. Think of it as a mutually beneficial sort of thing."
"The Count probably only meets the Cardinal for some other kind of charity work," I complained.
"There's no way to know for sure until a certain someone checks it out," the Blue Fox smiled. "And I don't have a fancy 'Baron's wife' title to get me into the sacred building."
"We both know it's all about bribing the right people," I shook my head. "But fine. I'll investigate it. And maybe share what I learn with you."
"Good enough for me." The man tipped his hat to me as he prepared to exit. "Do be careful, though. The Church is rather serious when it comes to punishing sinners." Then he disappeared into the hallway and out the front door.
