The Bedroom
"Are you ready, baby?" Charlie hollered to the bathroom in a more enthusiastic tone than normal, seeing their man dressed in mainly a pair of pants that was provided by Carmilla before she departed to her compound for temporary work.
Noctis, nervous as ever, turned to the princess with a flat look at her dumb question while still trying to perfect brushing his teeth while having fangs.
"We are going to heaven, where I'm going to be having a meeting with the one who killed me." He pointed out in a matter of fact tone, making her blush at both his shirtless state and the obvious conflict to come. "What do you think?"
Charlie realized the stupidity behind her question and smiled sheepishly.
"Right. Sorry."
He rolled his eyes and went back to his task at hand, accidentally hitting his gums while she double checked her packing.
While Noctis was mentally kicking himself for a now bleeding gum, Vaggie had ahold of Max and was doing one last bottle feed before he would have to be handed off to Angel Dust who begrudgingly accepted.
Biting her lip, the one eyed woman eyed Noctis from the bed as he cursed himself in the midst of Charlie overpacking, while going over the list too eagerly.
"Ok, I have my warm weather clothes and my cold weather clothes. I have a light jacket, flak jacket and rain jacket-"
Suddenly it dawned to her. "Wait, does it rain in Heaven?"
Vaggie chuckled at her bubbly thinking as Max squeaked from suckling his bottle. "Charlie, you and Noctis are only going to be up there for a few hours."
"We're going to be up there for a whole day." Charlie reminded as Noctis came out fully dressed, "Dad called early this morning and said that representatives will meet us for us to explore heaven while also allowing us to meet the Seraph to show that the hotel works."
"Right, the seraphim." He chuckled nervously as the fear showed on his forced smile. "Oh I am so fucked."
"Not until we get back." Vaggie implied with a wiggle of her eyebrows, making him blush to get his mind off the dangers.
"We got this!" Charlie stated, completely unaware of the dirty thinking Vaggie had. "And who knows, its been thousands of years so the seraphim might not recognize that Noctis is Romna."
"Oh I hope she doesn't." He groaned, hoping for the best.
Vaggie nodded in agreement as she gently burped max, suddenly acting nervous. "Yeah, I wish I could come, sweetie, but I have that…thing."
The two lovers arched an eyebrow and looked to her, even as Charlie asked, "What thing?"
Vaggie stumbled on to that one, as she said, trying to come up with a good lie, "The thing with the… thing uhm..."
In the end she just slouched in defeat, as she groaned, "Fuck, gah, I'm such a bad liar."
Thankfully Charlie was always one to cheer her up, and took her hand to reassure while offering that loving smile while Noctis sat next to her with his arm around her waist.
"Vaggie, you're our partner. We need you there with us to get through this." Charlie admitted before looking to the glaring man. "Noctis especially needs us both there since he's sticking his neck out the most."
"No shit." He maintained said glare while holding Vaggie tighter. "If shit goes awry I don't know if I can handle myself."
He suddenly chuckled dramatically with more swimming thoughts of the seraphim. "Besides, even if you said no I'd drag you with us to this crap."
As much as she enjoyed the dominance coming off Noctis, Vaggie was still apprehensive to the idea of going to heaven but defeated by the duo needing her as backup.
"Ugh…..fine."
"Yes!" Charlie cheered before she and Noctis trapped Vaggie with kisses on her cheeks.
"But you better make it worth it!" Vaggie dropped her lazy smile and glared at Noctis.
"Oh I've got that covered." Charlie smiles proudly with her fists on her hips, confusing the two before Max started to squeak hiccups.
"And how do you have that covered?" Noctis asked in suspicion, watching the princess go to her dresser and pull out a pair of handcuffs.
She wiggled her eyebrows with implication that made Vaggie grin expectantly while Noctis' eyes widened.
"Oh crap…."
"Just a little something I got from Angel Dust." Charlie explained bedore tossing the the cuffs onto the bed. "Hope you don't mind cuffs baby."
"Fuck me." Noctis groaned before facepalming.
Vaggie rolled her eyes playfully at him and said 'later' before leaning in with a nip to his neck.
Normally that would've made Noctis shiver to her delight but the sight of handcuffs made him uncomfortable and annoyed when their entire sex life consisted of being overpowered by the two whether gentle or absolutely rough and worn down.
Even with powers he was defeated every time by both girls finding their satisfaction.
"Perverts." He snipped.
Later in the lobby the three lovers came down to find that Angel was exhausted on the couch after 16 hour shift at the studio but suddenly perked up after an explosion happened .
"The fuck!?" Noctis jumped with both girls hugging onto him, his gaze turning to the source as the radiating aura about him came from his sudden rise of anger.
"What the fuck is up with that wall?" Angel Dust exclaimed.
Inside said came hole a one-eyed curvy figure that gave herself a booming entrance.
"What up hoes!" This figure exclaimed with laughter that perked up the spider demon.
"Holy shit. Cherri Bomb!" Angel Dist suddenly perked up to his long time friend. "Long time no see, Baby!"
"I don't get paid for this shit." Noctis growled quietly, hair whipping around and eyes burning brightly with malicious intent after Charlie and Vaggie separated from him to meet this newcomer.
His eyes remained fixed on the wall as Charlie and Vaggie approached the woman, while he on the other hand went to the destruction just as Carmilla pulled up in her limousine and stepped out to assume her role of tending to Max while he was gone.
"What happened?" She barked, turning her attention to the group inside.
Noctis remained fixated on the hole with a despairing look of touching the framework in complete shambles.
"I just plastered it." He whined as the overlord entered through said hole.
Suddenly his demeanor became aggressively raging before he scowled back to the culprit talking to the eager porn demon.
"I'm gonna kill her."
Cherri jumped into the room, as she smiled at the fun encounter.
"Angie, ya bitch! You been texting me depressin' shit all day!" She pointed out with a contemplative look. "Figured we could tear shit up like old times. It's been fucking forever!"
Cherri sensed Charlie coming up behind her and tossed the bomb in her hand back without a thought of consequences.
"Here, hold this."
Sadly for Charlie she was foolish enough to catch and play hot potato with the armed explosive, freaking out.
"Ah, oh my god! Oh my god!"
"Nope, gimme that!" Vaggie ordered sharply before she took said bomb and threw it quickly to the hole.
Unfortunately it was too quickly without recognition of Noctis still at the hole and examining the damage. Painfully the bomb bounced off his head and skipped out of the hotel before exploding.
"HEY!"
"Sorry baby!" Vaggie winced.
Noctis could only rub his head and groan to the throbbing headache to come as Carmilla watched with him the interaction.
"Are you alright darling?" She asked with a hint of concern as she forced his head down for checking.
"I'm fine mom." He replied in annoyance and tried to move back while Charlie conversed with the unimpressed Cherri Bomb about a night out.
Sadly for him it was not going to that way any longer with the overlord taking her new role as serious as she could. A mother's love was the purest thing but also the harshest when crossed, and that's exactly what he did with trying to get away.
Carmilla hardened herself and grabbed Noctis by his arm before jerking back into her proximity.
"Young man I will not tolerate your attitude. Now be still." She scolded and went back to checking for a bump.
Unamused as is, Noctis accepted his defeat by standing still as Charlie finished up her conversation with paying Cherri Bomb a stack of money to coerce her into getting everyone out of the hotel.
His eyes snapped wide just as the overlord finished and surprisingly pecked his head before approaching Vaggie.
"She's never paid me!"
"I'll be taking him." Carmilla took Max from the spear user just as the portal to heaven opened.
Before either Vaggie or Noctis could react they found themselves thrusted into heaven without getting a chance to say goodbye.
Eagerly she was about to step through but found the touch of the overlord on her arm.
"Hold it." Carmila said sharply and tucked Max into her arm.
Charlie was going to ask why she was stopped but was immediately given a cold and darkened glare that had sent shivers down her spine.
"Keep him safe." Carmilla warned dangerously. "Or you will come to understand why I am the weapons overlord."
Charlie gulped at the threat and nodded before leaving for her meeting.
Once inside there was nothing but mesmerization from the princess as she looked all the heavenly room for all of its majesty, taking the scenery with each step while Vaggie was holding Noctis by hisnhand and much less enthusiastic.
"Guys, look at this place! It's so clean! Isn't that amazing?"
"Yup, super cool. Heaven. Wow." Vaggie sarcastically said with a roll of her eye, clearly dismissing the princess while Noctis was on his nerves.
"Oh boy…." He exhaled as they followed Charlie to the gates.
It was now or never for the divine beast to help Charlie with getting extermination day to stop, but the stiffness in his posture had Vaggie knowingly worried and adding emphasis of comfort by wrapping her arms around his.
"Don't worry baby. We won't let anything to you."
Charlie and Vaggie approach the front desk where a human looking angel with a pair of wings pops up from behind his desk, greeting them faith alkost sickening sweetness.
"Hiya! Welcome to Heaven! Can I get your name, please?" The figure asked as he opened his book.
"Oh!" Charlie exclaimed, before she nervously said, "Uhhh, uh, uh, Charlie Morningstar!"
The angel then scanned through the large book before him that is supposed to be a list of names, cataloging for those who have earned their way to enter heaven.
"Charlie Morningstar, hmm," He hummed in thought before he mumbled names from list.
Slowly the search became disheartening for the Angel until he reached the end of the catalogue with Charlie not there.
"I'm not seeing you on my list here, that's so odd."
"Uh, um, my dad got me this meeting, so maybe..." Charlie tripped over her own words as she got nervous and suggested quietly with her best smile.
"Try Lucifer... Morning... star?"
The Angel then realized who Charlie was by the name of the most infamous fallen angel in all of existence.
"Oh, fuck!" He exclaimed before a quick but very awkward composure of himself, laughing nervously. "Yeah, hoooo, hehehe. Yikes, am I right?"
"Hey!" Noctis barked at the angel, becoming defensive for Charlie while the person flinched at his aggression. "That's her dad. Watch your mouth!"
"Noctis." Charlie growled quietly. "Behave."
Behaving wasn't in his vocabulary when it came to defending his princess. Reluctantly though he bit his tongue as the angel flew down from his podium and spoke matter of factly.
"Are you sure you're in the right place? Because I think you might be a little lost." The angel tried to be subtle about it for Charlie and turned his attention to Noctis.
Vaggie was already unamused of the angel and his dismissal, crossing her arms in disappointment but keeping herself leaned on Noctis while the angel eyed him up and down. "Oh, here we go..."
"Strange," the angel turned his attention to Noctis with a lingering familiarity to him, narrowing his gaze. "So human yet those claws and fangs. I feel as though I've met you before."
He suddenly got closer in a flash of light, startling them with his closeness to the uncomfortable man.
"What's your name young man?" He asked after squinting his eyes.
Noctis was already nervous as is that the angel had a sense of seeing him before and gulped thickly.
"Shit." Charlie whispered, finally coming back from her own need for this meeting to the reality of why Noctis was here.
"Noctis." The divine beast stuttered with a line of sweat falling off the side of his head.
"Those eyes...and that hair..." The angel hummed in thought.
Suddenly in the golden skies above them came an angelic voice from the light cast over them that beamed down.
"Saint Peter, we can take it from here."
Noctis felt his skin suddenly crawl while Vaggie clutched his arm again, his body tensing as two figures with six wings in rank transformed into more human-like angels that descended to the golden bridge with serene smiles.
Behind them came two other angels with only two wings but wearing armor and brandishing different weapons that strapped behind them, following with neutral expressions behind the two women.
Noctis felt his breath almost hitch as the memory of Lucifer's past that he shared replayed in his mind like a horror movie. This was it for him, to meet the one who started it all, and internally he was absolutely terrified and about to break his casual expression as the woman greeted herself to Charlie.
The other Seraph that was about Charlie's height ceased bouncing with excitement and squealed quietly as she approached the princess.
"Remember Charlie." Vaggie whispered very quietly, reminding the hellish princess that they were taking a risk with Noctis.
Charlie had almost forgot, and part of her underneath the smiling facade was a little ashamed to have dismissed Noctis' safety so easily as she met the younger angel.
The other Seraph couldn't contain her excitement as she stopped in front of Charlie. "I'm Emily, the other seraphim in charge of the same district, though you can call me Em! Emmy, E, whatever you want, I go by whatever."
"And these—" Sera gestured to the two angels behind her. "Are our Archangels—Michael and Gabriel."
"Greetings." Gabriel did offer a wave of hand while Michael was as his reputation preceded him, a very silent and calculating angel that observed the three with a critical stare.
"Don't mind him," Emily giggled to Charlie. "He's always grumpy."
"Dearly beloved," Saint Peter took their attention as he guided everyone through the gates and gestured. "It is my pleasure to say unto thee...welcome to heaven."
Suddenly he broke out into song with choir music going.
"Starting to hate music." Noctis whispered to Vaggie as they walked inside with Charlie now holding his other hand.
He looked back from the corner of his eye to the elder angel noticing his look, and beamed with her gentleness directly towards him.
His eyes widened bedore he looked forward once more to the song and dance with his body shaking in their grasps, hearing Sera chuckle lightly at his reaction.
She was oblivious...but for how long?
"Girls, I'm scared." He whispered.
"Just stay calm baby." Charlie whispered reassuringly while keeping a straight face. "She hasn't recognized you."
"Don't give her reason." Vaggie added and reached up with a soft peck of to his cheek.
An intimate scene not unnoticed by Sera or the archangels behind her.
But at this moment for the High Seraphim, as she followed behind, she was taken from watching the interaction to the glow in her sleeve that hummed.
"The fragment?"
Curious yet apprehensive of removing it, she made sure no one ahead of her was looking back and pulled the soul fragment from her sleeve to find it pulsing powerfully all of a sudden.
It meant the most obvious conclusion she had been waiting for all these months.
"He's close." She told herself before her mind was struck with why it would do that.
He wasn't just close. He was here. He had to be.
Slowly she looked up from the fragment in her hands to the three lovers watching as Emily joined in on the fun of singing about heaven with Peter. Her eyes narrowed in suspicion as it she got closer to him.
She then turned her attention to the back of Noctis' head as Saint Peter went on about singing the perks of heaven, and that serene smile turned into anxious hope for the fragment to be true.
"Sera?" Gabriel touched her shoulder and tried to grab her attention.
It was all for naught when the seraphim slowly pointed the fragment to Noctis with shaking hands and watched it respond with Michael and Gabriel eyeing the confusing motion.
Until it stopped pulsing and burned brightly, continuously to be returned to its owner.
She gasped so loudly in recognition as her hands subconsciously trembled and almost dropped the fragment.
The realm of heaven seemed to drown out when she blinked again in disbelief and saw that it was no illusion of him being held protectively by Vaggie while Charlie saw from the corner of her eye how tense things got while Emily and Peter came to the closer of their song.
"Oh no…."
"Romna?"
Noctis didn't move but heard that name and almost broke character of Sera breaking her voice just to say it.
His eyes widened in fear as he listened to her footsteps slowly grow closer from behind.
"Is that you…."
"What do we do?" Vaggie whispered while Emily saw how distraught Sera had become and ran over to help her.
"Sera, what's wrong?"
Noctis didn't know what to do now and stood there like a statue as the patrons around them watched their elegant leader suddenly creep closer to the three with her eyes wide and locked on the back of his head.
"This is bad. This is bad. This is bad." Charlie whispered with sweat actually starting to fall off her.
Sera carried a haunted look on her face as she couldn't believe all her efforts were finally having the result she wanted.
Romna was back, her beloved son had finally returned after being impossibly revived by whatever force.
If only she knew…..
But now she was still gapped by the way Noctis was still standing there with his back turned.
Did he not remember?
"Romna, dont you recognize me?" She asked in almost desperate tone of voice, reaching for her child's shoulder. "My darling , it's me….."
An epiphany struck Noctis, Vaggie and Charlie as they heard Sera ask such a question, a chance to keep the entire situation under their control and still maintain this facade.
"She thinks he doesn't remember." Charlie whispered to herself, though Noctis and Vaggie heard her.
"Play along." Noctis whispered, hardening his heart and suppressing the fear with an idea in mind.
"My love, please….." Sera began to cry in front of her subjects with her hand just inches from touching him. "Please look at your mother."
It was a dangerous gamble Noctis was about to play with the angel as Gabriel and Michael watched with their own shock, but he was ready to take that risk.
Slowly he turned with Vaggie and Charlie following and still holding his hands as they looked up to the High Seraphim, eyes bloodshot with growing tears.
"Your majesty, are you okay?" He asked casually with the best poker face of curiosity and concern he could make. "And who's Romna?"
"This better work!" Charlie and Vaggie screamed mentally, cringing at the thought of Noctis backfiring his faux innocence.
An eerie silence passed from th High Seraphim as she recoiled from her own son bombarding her with such innocence and trembled.
"He doesn't know me...his reincarnation….."
Charlie could feel her stomach twisting in a knot and wanted to throw up while Sera slowly lifted a shaky finger at the man. Every fiber of her body was tense with prayer that they could fool the leader of heaven.
"You are….." she breathed with broken certainty. "You are Romna. Don't you know you're own name?"
Charlie and Vaggie breathed a sigh of relief.
Noctis looked down at the for a moment and then back up to the woman before chuckling with a smile as if amused by her torment.
"I'm sorry Sera, but my name is Noctis."
Sera felt her heartbeat become rapid she feared the worst.
"He doesn't know me….."
"Sera," Michael touched her shoulder to grab her attention. "The soul fragment."
Sera felt herself snap back to reality at his words and hastily took the fragment back out with hope that she wasn't making a fool of herself.
"Here." She thrusted said fragment to Noctis and surprised him. "Touch it."
Vaggie and Charlie widened their eyes at the fragment glowing brightly and realized what this meant for them and their lover.
"She had the missing piece!" They mentally screamed.
Noctis continued to play the innocent man but deep down had a mild resentment to know after all this time the same woman that killed him in his previous life had been holding the missing piece of his soul the entire time. The pain of being partial, the mystery to where his whole was at, it was right in front of him and burning with a need to take it.
"Take it." She pleaded quietly, verging on tears. "It's yours my child."
"Do you have any idea what is happening?" Saint Peter whispered to Emily, getting a shake of the head from her before Gabriel explained to them.
"He is Sera's reincarnated son."
They gawked at this shocking as the citizens around them started to circle and murmur to those words, sharing the same confusion to the leader so distraught.
"Take it." She whispered, shedding tears finally. "Please."
Noctis wanted to question why she had the missing piece of his soul but found no form of words come. He crept his hand to the fragment and watched is hummed louder and burn brighter the close he got.
It was calling to him, to it's owner.
"Noctis?" Charlie was concerned and stepped to his side while Vaggie took the other, both just as afraid as him.
As soon as his finger touched the shard, it vibrated in Sera's hand before flying right out as she anticipated for a response.
"The fuck!?" Noctis was startled into a scream, and the. immediately launched by the fragment impacting his chest and sending him across the marble street.
Sera smiled inwardly as she knew precisely what just happened while Charlie and Vaggie bolted to him, but kept to herself during her emotional conclusion.
"It is him!"
"Baby !" Charlie screamed whilst Noctis came to a sliding halt, blinking repeatedly with uncertainty at the sky while his lovers watched with no idea on how to check him.
"What the fuck just happened?" He asked casually.
"Sera?" Michael looked to his leader and watched the control in her completely shatter while Noctis sat up with the help of the girls.
She flared her wings and lunged in flight.
"You okay?" Vaggie touched his chest after the fragment disappeared into his body.
Noctis, still disoriented, turned to her and was going to answer when suddenly he was caught in the arms of Sera after she flew right at him. He disappeared in a blur of speed with Charlie and vaggie panicking bedore looking up to find her holding their lover in the air.
They realized that the seraphim was still fooled but she had given into her emotions. She had flapped her wings and shot like a bullet to take him into her arms.
"Oh Romna!" She cried happily, crushing his chest to hers while rubbing her cheek to his. "My darling Romna…..."
Noctis was completely ensnared in the sobbing angel and her grasp as she broke down in the air for all to see as he stared distantly in shock.
Like Charlie and Vaggie he had expected her to be hostile or a threat the moment she found out who he was originally, but now his judgment was clouded as they landed in front of his worried lovers that didn't know what to do.
"My precious star." She choked out those words and bombarded his face with kisses, leaving not an inch untouched while the others approached.
He couldn't even cringe with how fast each kiss touched him.
As soon as they landed he pushed off and got to his feet, backstepping hastily to Charlie and Vaggie while his rejection stung Sera so deeply.
"Romna…." She reached for him, feeling her heart break.
"My name is Noctis!" He exclaimed, making her flinch while wondering what the hell was going.
He felt tears rolling down his face against his will while the fuel behind his uncertainty was the confusion of Lucifer's memory compared to the woman that is now.
He couldn't make heads or tails of this angel…..this murderer…..that just took him into her arms and barrage his face with kisses and love.
Where was the killer she was made out to be?
"Why is she acting like this!? Did Lucifer lie to me!?"
Instinctively he let Charlie and Vaggie hold him protectively while Sera clutched her hands to her chest and quivered at his apprehension.
"But your name is Romna." She whimpered pathetically, quivering her lip as Michael and Gabriel held her. "You're my Romna."
"Sera, remember." Michael advised as they tried to mediate, trying to make her remember that he was a reincarnation.
But she was far from listening with how her regrets were now breaking her entire composure, a mother's love she would believe, overpowering her demeanor as The High Seraphim while she watched the girls keep him back.
Noctis looked to his lovers as the situation grew so intense he wasn't even sure if they could believe this side of Sera. Here they were ready to fool a cold-hearted killer playing saint but now unsure who this person was they were trying to trick.
The only reassurance for him was Vaggie still defensive but nodding that she and Charlie had him.
Sera couldn't take it anymore and lost the strength to remain standing as her subjects watched her kneel with open arms, pleading through her eyes for him to come.
"Please, I beg you. Don't push me away."
Noctis remained planted with the girls and questioned his own judgment, but most importantly he remained seated to the idea of playing stupid.
"Who are you?" He asked cautiously.
She clenched her teeth at that heartbreaking question but answered. Whether it was genuine or not, Noctis didn't know.
"I am your mother, my darling. I have waited for so long for you to come back."
"You have waited?" Charlie questioned, holding herself more steady but keeping a grip on Noctis.
"Yes." Sera nodded rapidly with her crown shaking. "Yes I have waited for millenia after millenia."
"Why?" Vaggie asked, keeping a defensive posture with Noctis.
"WHY?" She laughed bitterly with hostility in her voice, emphasis of each word with her hands at her chest. "Because I was robbed of Romna. I was robbed of my child!"
"You were robbed?" Charlie stepped into the question, playing her own faux innocence.
Sera wanted to lay out the truth on them but knew it was not going to get herself anywhere. Right now she just wanted her son back, the only matter in her mind and heart right now.
But when she looked at the princess and saw how intimate hers and Vaggie's touch was with Noctis, a deeply rooted disdain took its place when she realized why they were so protective.
"He is intimate with these foul creatures.....not for long."
She would have to play her cards right to bring them apart.
A trivial matter she thought to herself.
"Yes," her voice softened so suddenly as she stood up and collected herself. "I was robbed of my Romna a very long time ago by an old enemy. But it doesn't matter now."
They raised their eyebrows in suspicion.
"Please," she pleaded more quietly this time, clearly changing away from the subject. "Let me hold you."
Noctis shook off his tirade of mixed thoughts and started to focus on one thing when she said that.
Staying in one piece.
"What?"
"Please." Sera tried again but this time allowed herself the break of character, smiling needily with a love only she understood. "I need to hold you."
Noctis wanted to say things, very foul things to the seraphim and deny her request. But upon looking back at Charlie he remembered why he was here in heaven in the first place and stayed his tongue for her sake.
He had to go with his own idea and play along.
"I guess." He pretended to accept with Charlie and Vaggie confused by his answer, refusing to let go of his arms. "Girls, it's okay."
"Be careful." Charlie whispered and released him, followed with Vaggie scoffing before she did the same with a judgmental eye on the angel.
Noctis did as Sera requested and slowly walked into her arms, hoping it would calm things down. But he wasn't prepared for the sheer amount of love and tenderness he felt when her arms locked around, added with her wings cocooning them.
There were tears that dripped into his hair and matting with the kisses that pressed again and again from her lips.
He was disgusted that he was letting his murderer, his mother who killed him previously, cry silently and hold him.
Yet he was so confused that she was so loving and caring.
"I love you so much." Sera whispered.
He still wanted to gag at those words as the other angels and the citizens fell for the mother and son moment with heart aching sobs of their own.
"Stick with the plan."
Quickly he wrapped his arms around the angel and gave a gag face to Vaggie, making her almost smile as the fake love fooled Sera into quiet sobs.
"My darling….."
Suddenly she unfurled the cocoon of her wings and announced with joy to all who were in vicinity, booming her heavenly voice with cheer.
"REJOICE EVERYONE! MY SON, ROMNA—THE LEVIATHAN, HAS COME BACK TO US!"
"Ah shit." He grumbled before the street patrons erupted in cheers and heavenly music played somewhere.
"We are so screwed." Vaggie facepalmed.
A few minutes later the group was passing by a very familiar pair to Charlie who happened to be casually strolling the streets and without knowing what happened dur to their lack of care.
And the fact they were on the other side of the city when the announcement was made.
That is until the masked angel took a second to process Emily talking to Noctis closely, with Vaggie and Charlie following and eyeing the city as they were led to their place of stay.
This figure was all too familiar for his arrogance, but right now he spat his drink in shock and looked back to the sight shrinking from sight.
"Holy fucking shit balls. Am I seeing who I think I'm seeing?" Adam asked with obvious dislike and turned to Lute to see she bear the same aggression.
"What are they doing here?" She spat in disbelief. "How did they even get up here and who is that human?"
"Who cares?" Adam responded with hostility, disregarding where they were. "I'm handling this shit now!"
"That would be most unwise." A powerful figure warned before enveloping the two with his wings and taking them away to his private office.
The scenery changed in a flash of light to the personal office of the one angel nobody dares anger as Adam was startled by the suddenness.
"Fuck, Michael!" Adam exasperated with a shock look. "You can't do that shit!"
"Be quiet!" Michael ordered, flaring his dangerous aura while turning his attention to the other as the pressure became heavy. "And you, Lute, need to control this child more often before I find reason to erase him."
Lute didn't waste a second in making herself be small by kneeling to the mighty archangel, knowing all too well of his coldness to anyone and anything along with zero tolerance to disrespect.
"Forgive him, Lord Michael." She bowed her head to the glaring angel, though she did alone while Adam remained standing.
A disrespect not unnoticed by the powerful angel while Lute continued to speak with the utmost respect.
"My lord, why is the princess of hell here with a former of our own, and with a human?"
"That was no human." Michael lowered his aura for the sake of Lute being respectful, but maintained an intense dislike to Adam. "That was Romna."
"Romna!?" Adam exclaimed with his attitude immediately perked up. "No shit! The fucking leviathan!?"
Michael narrowed his gaze at Adam just as Lute covered his mouth, hoping this would help avoid his wrath by silencing the first man.
"Are you sure?" She asked.
Michael nodded and turned away to the outside world through his window and explained, his thoughts swimming about the return of what Heaven considered a sacred treasure.
"The soul fragment Sera had was absorbed by the boy you saw. But even I am no fool, his face was unmistakable."
"Oh man." Adam chuckled darkly after pushing Lute's hand away. "We have a real fucking powerhouse in our realm now. A divine beast to not just ensure extermiantion day, but a way to even kill them all."
Michael bristled his wings and spun in place to the overzealous angel, startling the two with his threatening posture of flaring his wings out.
"No!" He barked and almost gave them his true voice. "The boy is not to be touched!"
Finally Adam showed a hint of fear when the room grew colder and darkened under the menacing power of the archangel, his breath visible now while Lute kept her head low but stared at the floor with wide eyes and a slight shiver to his overwhelming presence.
"Romna, or Noctis as he goes by, is not to be touched. Do you understand?"
"What, why?" Adam exclaimed with a cocked eyebrow of his mask, finding the courage to question his superior. "We have a divine beast now. Heaven can be unstoppable if we—"
"He is having relations with the princess and the fallen girl." Michael surprised them with that interrupting revelation and crossed his arms.
Well that took then both by surprise, especially the first man who despised them with a fiery passion but had to give respect where it was due for having two women.
Simply he gave a small grin and said, "Nice."
"But sir," Lute paused long enough to stand up and face the critical angel. "That is blasphemous, a divine beast having relations with a demon and a fallen exorcist, how can you not—"
"Lucifer told me over the phone."
Both angels went silent as the archangel sighed at his own confession but remained hard on the matter, both for the sake of heaven and for hell. Even under their scrutiny he was not afraid of the judgment Adam and Lute were now giving while he stood there unphased.
"What did that traitor say?" Lute asked through clenched teeth.
"The truth," Michael answered. "That the boy is awakening his powers and it is triggered through intense emotions such as anger. He is volatile and dangerously close to the princess and her guard."
He narrowed his gaze on the two and warned, "So neither of you will make any attempt at the Morningstar Princess or the Fallen Girl, lest you want to invoke his wrath and even worse Sera's."
Lute paled to the idea of angering Sera, knowing full well the extent of her power wheb pushed. Adam on the other hand wasn't so impressed but bregrudgingly accepted with a scoff.
"Fine, don't touch either bitch." He said lightly.
At the heavenly palace…
Deep in the dining hall with inescapable invitation, Noctis, Charlie and Vaggie had followed Emily through the halls with Sera still as clingy as ever with the entire walk being that she refused to take her hands off Noctis as they were introduced to of the higher angels in rank.
Inside the man was a deeply conflicted judgment of how Sera was supposed to be a killer, the very same killer that ended his previous life, yet right now she was acting like a mother that was terrified of losing her only child while the greetings from other angels had him concerned.
"My lord…." Metatron, scribe of god, bowed after seeing him up close and the other angels that gathered into the dining hall.
Noctis gave these angels a raised eyebrow as they gathered to the table, confused by the respect.
"This wasn't part of our stay." Vaggie pointed out while finding themselves seated at a golden table that extended much like a kingly feast, acting more cautious as Charlie skipped a chair so Noctis sat between them.
Sera chuckled at their uneasiness while taking her own seat across, petting noctis repeatedly on his head.
"No, but you both have done a great service bringing back my son. So I will extend the stay a little to show my thanks before we have the meeting."
Noctis was already getting sick of letting the seraphim continue touching him and slipped away to sit between his girls, ignoring the hurt in Sera's expression as she reached out with a needy hand.
Charlie and Vaggie saw this reaction and together made a mental note to keep an eye on the desperation while more angels came in and gathered to bow at Noctis before taking their seats.
Noctis kept receiving respect and adoration from these angels as he walked around the table, enduring the touches of those shaking his hand or requesting that he sits next to them.
Sera dropped her hand but kept her gaze on him and watched as Charlie and Vaggie offered comfort in the form of a kiss on each cheek.
A loving display of affection that fueled her prejudice against their relationship.
"Romna," she continued to use that name so casually and gestured to the seat next to her. "You should be next to me. You are my son and a lord after all."
Noctis wanted to glare and chastise that implication but remained calm with displaying his loyalty to both girls by holding their hands.
"First off, and I repeat, my name is Noctis. Secondly, I feel better being with them when everything is so confusing right now. And lastly I'm the handyman of Hazbin Hotel, not a lord."
Sera didn't take that kindly but remained collected to a mild sorrow, but underneath rested jealousy at the sight of two unworthy women that have his love and attention. Worst of all, they were his security and the comfort that should be her.
Not some demon and her girlfriend.
She looks down at her hands in her lap, clenching them out of frustration for a moment and then taking control of herself with that serene smile.
"I understand. It must be confusing to have your life altered so dramatically." She crooned to him, thinking it would soften his defiance.
"How is he a lord?" Vaggie asked, curious by the title.
Sera was starting to get annoyed by the interruptions of winning her child back but explained it to Vaggie calmly.
"Well a divine beast is revered for their initial sacrifice from relinquishing being an angel. They are considered royalty somewhat for their duties and power to heaven and hell."
The other angels nodded in agreement as she turned her attention to the princess. She beamed that same smile to Charlie, though none of the three were falling for it.
However, she did notice how calm Noctis was after being told of his title, and it drew suspicion while she spoke.
"Charlie, you have my utmost gratitude for keeping my ROMNA safe."
Charlie flinched at the gratitude but offered a smile of her own while knowing she had a role to play to keeping Sera fooled.
Unfortunately she was competing now when she realized the arrogance in Sera's smirk for how she used Noctis' old name.
"You're very welcome," she leaned over to Noctis and hugged his arm with emphasis oh his name. "We love NOCTIS."
If Sera was any worse off right now she would have cast away the thread of civil manners and slapped Charlie for that, but an act of aggression wouldn't look good in front of her child.
Charlie wasn't done though.
Adding insult to injury, she kissed Noctis in front of the barely in control angel that twitched again while the gathering of angels continued.
Noctis could sense that this wasn't just a game of deception now when he saw a twitch in Sera's wings. This was now a war between his lovers and the same woman they were not sure was a killer after how she acted.
Nevertheless, they had to be on their toes.
"Now then," Sera waved a hand and materlized the dining table with food. "Let us eat in honor of Romna's return."
"Noctis." Vaggie corrected.
It was going to be a dangerous visit.
