Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 – The Sacrifice (2025, India)

The humid Delhi afternoon in May 2025 carried the usual chaos of traffic: honking cars, swaying rickshaws, and the chatter of street vendors selling chaats and cold drinks. Deepak — the man who would later become the harbinger of global change — was walking down the crowded Chandni Chowk market after finishing his morning work. His life had been ordinary, unremarkable to most, but fate had chosen a different path for him.

Ahead, a child ran into the road chasing a brightly colored balloon, oblivious to the roaring traffic. Deepak noticed just in time: a speeding motorcycle bore down on the boy. Instinct overrode reason. Without a second thought, he lunged forward, scooping the child into his arms.

The impact was catastrophic. The motorcycle struck him instead, and the world went black.

Citizen POV: Witnessing the Sacrifice

Ramesh, a street vendor nearby, watched in horror. "Oh my God… he just jumped… he saved the boy!" His voice trembled as the crowd gathered. People murmured in shock and admiration, some capturing the moment on their phones.

"I can't believe it," whispered an elderly woman, clutching her shawl. "Such bravery… in this world of chaos, one man still cares."

Nearby, the child's mother ran toward them, tears streaming. "My son… thank you! Thank you, stranger!" But Deepak lay still, the life he had known ending in a heartbeat.

Heavenly Intervention: Gifts from God

In the liminal space beyond life, Deepak felt a strange warmth, a light that pulsed like the heartbeat of the universe. He was conscious but weightless, surrounded by a serene landscape that seemed to stretch infinitely.

A voice, calm and omnipotent, echoed:

"Deepak, your selfless act has been noted. You have earned a chance to correct the timeline, to rebuild, and to shape the destiny of nations. Five gifts shall be granted to you. Choose wisely."

Deepak, though in awe, felt clarity. "I… I want to go back," he said, "back to my 20-year-old self in 2014. I want to use these gifts to make a real difference."

The Gifts

The voice continued, "Very well. You shall receive:

1. An ageless, invincible body, immune to disease and decay.

2. Access to all technology of the Marvel universe, stored in a separate dimension, accessible anytime.

3. Infinite storage in that dimension, for any object, device, or material.

4. Two reserved wishes, to be used when you deem necessary.

5. *Full awareness of your prior life's knowledge and experience."

Deepak felt the power surge through him. Every particle in his being pulsed with energy. The thought of what could be done, the world he could shape, filled him with determination.

MC's First Thoughts

Before returning to his physical life, Deepak began planning. He knew the path would not be easy, but the gifts gave him a distinct advantage:

The vision of reshaping India and eventually the world formed clearly in his mind.

Family POV: The Loss

Back in Delhi, his parents and siblings mourned deeply. His mother, clutching a small photo of him, whispered repeatedly, "He was too good… too pure…" His father, normally stoic, shed silent tears. The community remembered him as a selfless hero, but none knew that this act was only the beginning of a much larger destiny.

---

Citizen POV: Society Reacts

The news spread across India. Television channels and newspapers carried the story of a young man who sacrificed his life to save a child. Social media exploded with tributes: hashtags, online vigils, and charity funds started in his name.

Ramesh, the vendor, kept repeating to everyone, "If one man can do this for a stranger… imagine what he could have done if given the chance."

Little did anyone know, that chance had been granted.
