Ling Uzumaki was about to scold Might Guy, but the moment she saw the hopeful look in his eyes, she couldn't bring herself to say a word.
She knew all too well the immense effort and pain Guy had endured to become a ninja. Now that he'd finally received recognition—especially from someone she respected—how could she bring herself to reprimand him?
"Of course it's true." Shiyu Uchiha smiled and nodded firmly, patting Might Guy's shoulder to show his approval and encouragement.
Even without saying much, Shiyu's gaze and tone alone were enough to give Guy confidence—as if whispering, *"Believe in yourself. You've got this!"*
Guy's heart felt like it had received a powerful injection of courage. His previously uncertain eyes shone brightly again, and he saw his own glimmer of hope.
In the original story, it was Might Duy who passed down the kinjutsu, [Eight Gates], to Guy, allowing him to see the dawn of hope. Now, Shiyu Uchiha's appearance had undoubtedly given him another possibility—an opportunity to realize his dream.
"Teacher, I promise I won't let you or my father down," Might Guy declared loudly, his voice filled with unwavering determination. At that moment, he seemed to already see his future self—a truly powerful ninja.
Just then, a green blur shot toward them like the wind. It was Might Duy. He immediately swept Might Guy into a tight hug, overwhelmed with emotion and bursting into tears. Ling Uzumaki was taken completely by surprise by the sudden turn of events and nearly screamed.
Shiyu Uchiha, however, had sensed Duy's presence long before and wasn't surprised, only offering a slight smile.
After all, as Guy's father, Duy understood everything his son had been through over the years. Now that he had finally witnessed his son's growth, his joy was beyond words.
Shiyu Uchiha stood aside quietly, watching the two express their emotions. However, as time passed, their behavior became increasingly exaggerated, nearly startling Ling again. Feeling somewhat awkward, Uchiha decided to interrupt them by suggesting it was time to continue treating Guy's leg injury.
Once Ling resumed the treatment, Uchiha brought up the matter of taking Guy as his disciple to Might Duy: "What do you think, Senior Duy?"
Duy was practically bursting with joy as he stammered, "Lord Shiyu, if you're willing to take Guy as your disciple, it would be the greatest honor for him! May I express my gratitude by inviting you to our home for dinner tomorrow evening? I sincerely hope you'll accept this humble invitation."
Shiyu Uchiha smiled and nodded in agreement: "Alright, then tomorrow evening." Hearing the conversation between his teacher and father, Might Guy couldn't help but get excited again. But this time, Ling was prepared. She shot Guy a sharp glare, successfully calming him down.
After a while, the treatment was finally completed. Father and son politely bid farewell to Shiyu Uchiha and Ling, then left—doing handstands as they went.
After the two had left, Shiyu Uchiha and Ling sat together on a swing outside his house, enjoying the peaceful moment.
After chatting for a while, Ling Uzumaki asked curiously, "What's so special about him? Why are you so sure that Guy can become a powerful ninja?"
Shiyu Uchiha slightly lifted the corner of his mouth, leaning close to Ling's ear and whispering, "That's my secret! Only those closest to me will know. Are you ready to listen?" His warm breath brushed past her ear, instantly causing a shy blush to rise on Ling's cheeks. However, she still firmly nodded.
Just as Shiyu was thinking about how to explain it to Ling, a familiar chakra fluctuation caught his attention. He turned his head and saw a figure rapidly approaching—red hair and massive chakra reserves immediately allowed him to identify the person as Kushina Uzumaki.
As Kushina arrived, Shiyu keenly sensed a pair of eyes watching from afar. Quickly pinpointing the location, he speculated that it might be someone from Anbu or Root division. However, he showed no reaction outwardly, pretending not to notice anything at all.
Still, with Kushina's arrival, Shiyu had no choice but to reluctantly stop teasing Ling and simply said, "Kushina's here."
At these words, Ling jumped in surprise, her body trembling slightly before quickly standing up from the swing. Just then, Kushina came rushing over like the wind, shouting excitedly, "Shiyu! So it really is you! When did you come back?"
Shiyu replied helplessly, "I just got back today, and then you interrupted me spending time with Ling."
Haha, sorry about that. How about you come over to my place?
Although saying this with an apologetic tone, Kushina's face showed no sign of guilt whatsoever, instead inviting him enthusiastically.
After exchanging glances with Ling, Shiyu accepted Kushina's invitation with a slightly reluctant expression. The three headed together toward Kushina's house.
Inwardly, Shiyu had wanted to ask about Minato Namikaze's recent situation, since he knew that Minato had been away on missions for quite some time now.
Since the two houses weren't too far apart, they reached their destination shortly after Kushina led the way.
While casually chatting with Kushina for a bit, Shiyu learned many updates—for example, that Minato had recently joined Anbu and, thanks to his solid foundational abilities enhanced by the Flying Thunder God technique, had already become Anbu squad leader and gradually gained recognition within Anbu as the "Second White Fang" (the title of Minato's father).
Hearing this, Kushina looked extremely excited, as if it made her happier than if she'd received the honor herself. However, since Minato was currently on a mission, Shiyu eventually left the two girls behind and took his leave. Ling was kept behind by Kushina, and the plan to visit the orphanage had to be postponed until another day.
Before leaving though, Shiyu generously gifted them the Uzumaki sealing techniques he had obtained in the Land of Demons. He gave them so generously to Kushina specifically because of her remarkable talent in this field. With her guidance, Ling would surely progress further in sealing arts. Shiyu truly looked forward to seeing Ling master the [Yin Seal] someday.
Shiyu Uchiha made his way home, constantly wondering what Minato Namikaze looked like now and how strong he had become. He mused to himself that Minato had mastered the Flying Thunder God Technique years earlier than in the original canon, which probably meant his current power far surpassed what was originally depicted.
Judging by the timeline, Minato had likely already completed his refinement of the Flying Thunder God Technique, transforming it into a unique ninjutsu of his own. With this, Minato's strength had surely exceeded the Kage level, making him fully deserving of the title, The Shinobi World's First Flash.
