Chapter 2 - CHAPTER 2: Status? Bloodlines? Huh?

Seeing that Claude was appalled at the system insistence but still could he stop it? Since he could not he chose to stay there silently. After a while of not hearing any further from the voice he assumed the incredibly unfavorable odds did as predicted.

But still even with the disappearance questions still lingered a lot of them in fact he at one point pondered whether he would die from curiosity seeing how it had killed so many cats before hand.

'Seems like I'm more confused than at the start.' Claude thought, looking around the room planning his first step.

Standing up from that thing made him a bit relieved, maybe because it was a bit different than even his fantasies it was deemed as repulsive by his brain, he wondered if that thing was faster than Bartold the fastest man of that era.

'Just a bit slower, definitely faster than anything I've seen so far.' Staring at that thing made him think and at the time had too much to think about so he shut off his eyes trying to limit the stimuli from the outside, a big part of that is why he enjoyed sleep. A means to escape something all humans needed.

Opening his eyes made the boy jump from fright quickly backing away from the air in which a bright blue screen levitated unperturbed.

"Now these hallucinations are getting out of hand, i almost grazed my back." He said looking at his back mere inches away from a metal leg supporting a locker.

(Legendary achievement unlocked, surpassing the odds special prize will be added to candidates window. Unlocked ultimate trait limitless, trait will be sealed, only passive effects will be felt.)

After the voice came the blue screen glowed with a dim gold before stopping. Having come to his feet and cautiously approaching the screen, he noticed some similarity with a game board complete with abilities inventory and all the other whatnot.

'So I'm in some sort of game?'

Thinking that seemed insane but the only logical thing he could do.

'Maybe there is way of raising my st...'

He pondered until he saw instead of the usual attribute panel three sentences singly encompassed his strength as a whole

Claude Liverier

AUTHORITY: Peasant

ABILITY: Life seed, Stage 2

BLOODLINE: *******8888*****

Although the first two seemed like insults the last one an oddity he wondered if the screen had a bug as the voice had previously mentioned. Tired of wondering he finally came up with a plan. There were laws supreme to psychology and he was about to use the one most people never dreamt of. Asking.

"Hey voice can you interpret this for me?" He calmly asked a large part of himself knowing full well he would not receive an answer nonetheless a satisfactory one.

(The bloodline is either too weak or too strong, Life seed is the natality of all creation hence it's weakest form the levels of power up to fifteen ahead of you are:

 Life seed

 Post natal

 Realization

 Evolution

 Pre-Awakening

 Awakening

 Post-Awakening

 Refinement

 Perfection

 APEX

 Dominator

The list seemed to stretch but what was evident was that he was at the very bottom, the significance of that would be seen according to the rarity of power. It was the same method used to access vain criteria for judging human beauty; if there were too many 5 feet people obviously the scale would be more lenient to them the same way if there were too many strong people the less habitable this new world would prove to be.

Judging by it's movements the thing was definitely above him, good thing it died even if by accident. Looking at the corpse Claude sudenly thought of something

"Hey can i level up my ability or is it fixed?" He asked now knowing the voice would answer

(Those with bloodlines are freed from the curse of stagnation if you offer sacrifices to your bloodline it will give you good rewards.) The voice responded still mechanical and as if pre-meditative it was clear it was a suspected question.

"How do I offer to the bloodline?" Claude's next obvious question came about.

(Through ending another and empowering yourself your bloodline will surely give back.) The voice said making Clude wonder if the reason he was at stage 2 was because of the dead thing.

Feeling grateful he bowed towards it as he took things he thought would come in handy out there.

Fully armed for exploration he stepped out with a confident grin quickly turning his head left and right trying to scout for any abnormal enemy like the thing which he had adeptly termed the speed variant zombie or S.V in short.

Common sense told him that if the world was riddled with things that strong he would have already been dead, despite this the simple reasoning of competition outshined dominance if there were things which had bloodlines like him maybe they constantly fought for dominance.

Clutching his head and slightly groaned Claude hit his head against the wall

'Why am I accepting this so easily, something's up.' He remarked as he noticed a shallow depression on the wall ad a gushing blood stream from his head.

The pain was excessive so any previous thoughts of dream hood vanished.

Still scouting the window popped up again after the first time in the room this time it had few more words

[Regular quest: Escape the school (2 evolution points)]

[Rare quest: Reclaim the school (5 evolution points)]

[Epic quest: Survive the school for 12 days (13 evolution points, chance to awaken dormant bloodline(0.00000000000001%)]

[Legendary quest: Subdue the school, make it suitable base, clear all abnormalities (33 evolution points, trait ruler(epic)]

[Current limit with the trait limitless in passive mode, more options will appear as the trait is advanced.]

[Choose the desired quest, additional rewards will be consumed by limitless if not of the B+ rank and above, the higher it goes the more it consumes.]

Claude finally found it the fluidity these course of events required acquire limitless then acquire rewards eventually become the strongest.

It was too simple in fact it almost seemed scripted but still he chose to explain the current ability to see through the flow as a side effect of watching too many fantasy films.

'What to choose?' Of course the principle of high risk high reward made him weary of choosing past the epic quest.

'Considering his luck in achieving the status board against an infinite odds, I should be more gravitated towards the more riskier option

[Failure results in de-evolution for higher rarity tasks.]

The system chimed in as if being able to sense the greed the legendary option had instilled onto the unwitting Claude

'Even the status advices against it then i will definitely go for the harder difficulty task.' He thought as the quests all disappeared after the choice selection, a bit regretful over not having the ability to do multiple related quests at once.

'That would be greedy, this enough should suffice.' He thought as the status now showed some numerical values.

 Abnormalities: 2400

 Base completion: 0%

 Subjection of place: 0.02%

[To clear the completion has to be at 65% and all the enemies died at least amounts to 2000]

Claude grimaced as he saw this complex scenario initially he thought it would be tolerable considering the high rewards put this time greed overwhelmed the naive Claude.

[Detected abnormality (10)]

'With warning he found the tall task of finding the abnormalities would significantly reduce making the quest somewhat managlble
