Morgan added Dragonmaid Hospitality from her Deck to her hand. The targeted House Dragonmaid dissolved into light and returned to the Extra Deck. With this move, she not only broke free from Myura's control but also reclaimed House Dragonmaid.
Once Morgan's turn came, she could recycle Dragonmaid Changeover from her Graveyard and use Sheou's effect again.
Since House Dragonmaid disappeared, Fascinator's effect lost its target and failed to resolve.
Myura's expression twisted.
What she thought would be a decisive combo had been casually dismantled… She had noticed Morgan's Set card; however, she assumed it was mere battle protection. She never expected Morgan would use it to escape Fascinator's control.
Under Myura's possession, Hazel's face contorted in rage. She felt as if Morgan had played her for a fool. The smooth string of plays had backfired, leaving her looking like a clown. It was humiliation she hadn't suffered in years, and she burned for revenge. Yet with no resources left, her hand empty and only Vampire Fascinator on the field, her 2400 Attack meant nothing against House Dragonmaid—she couldn't even attack.
A sense of helplessness weighed on her. She had never imagined this girl named Morgan could push her so far.
"My turn, end."
With nothing else she could do, Myura ended bitterly.
The spectators erupted with excitement. Morgan had reversed the pressure and subdued Myura. Fear gave way to boldness, and their voices rose again.
"That ancient Shadow Duelist is actually being suppressed by Morgan! Am I seeing this right?"
"You're not wrong—that play was pure brilliance, it cornered her completely."
"So Shadow Duelists aren't so terrifying after all, huh? Easy pickings."
"Funny, weren't you the one nearly wetting yourself when she glared at you earlier?"
As the crowd debated, Isla finally exhaled. When Myura had seized Morgan's monster, her heart nearly leapt from her chest. This was a Shadow Game—no room for mistakes. Yet Morgan had turned it around with a single card.
She not only replenished her hand but stopped Myura's control and recovered her monster. Three benefits from one effect—it was of immense value.
Isla looked at Morgan with admiration. To stay so calm under the pressure of a Shadow Game and make such a precise call was beyond normal. She herself couldn't manage it; even just watching behind Morgan had her too nervous to think straight.
Jade cheered aloud. She didn't quite understand what happened; nonetheless, it seemed Morgan had foiled her opponent's scheme. That alone was enough for joy.
Hannah, on the other hand, stared at Morgan in shock. Not even Myura could suppress her. It was now clear: the Shadow Duelist organization's top priority must be converting Morgan. Left unchecked, she would become a dire threat.
Yet Hannah was conflicted. If Myura won, it would be simple. However, with her likely to lose, running would cut off Hannah's path to Morgan. She needed to stay and survive the coming purge. At least the identity her boss had prepared was a real one, solid enough to gamble on.
As for Hazel, once Myura departed, she would lose all memory of the possession. No risk of exposure.
Resolving herself, Hannah turned a cold gaze back to the field.
An'er watched Morgan in disbelief. In mere moments, she had flipped the duel and suppressed her opponent. This was an ancient Shadow Duelist—stories of them were legends she grew up on. And now, one was about to be defeated by her peer. It was absurd.
But deep down, she felt this duel would be remembered in Duel Academy's history.
The old man and the principal thought the same. They could see it clearly—Myura's resources were exhausted. To turn it around, she'd need a miracle draw.
That said, would Morgan ever give her that chance?
Of course not.
They exchanged a glance. From this moment, a new star rivaling even the Duel King had risen.
"My turn, draw!"
Morgan swiftly drew and added to her hand. She had expected Myura to run dry—after all, Vampire decks bled resources. Spending everything to seize control of her monsters was a desperate gamble; once it failed, there was no way back.
Dueling often came down to resource management. Decks that bricked or burned through cards had a natural disadvantage.
Thinking this, Morgan glanced at Vampire Fascinator. With both its effects already spent, it was just a 2400-Attack body now.
Surely no deck could fail to handle a blank 2400, right?
"I activate Dragonmaid Changeover's effect in my Graveyard!"
"Return Parlor Dragonmaid from my field to my hand, and return this card from the Graveyard to my hand!"
Morgan silently thanked Myura for repeatedly summoning her Dragonmaids back from the Graveyard. Changeover checked the archetype name, not Type, so even as Zombies, they worked.
Myura frowned at the familiar sequence. Though Changeover returned, Morgan still lacked the fusion material she needed. That was why she had searched Hospitality earlier—it could Special Summon a Dragonmaid from the Graveyard.
"From my hand, I activate the Spell, Dragonmaid Hospitality!"
