Chapter 2 - The Awakening of Devil Empress

Azure mist forest ,Fengxian Empire

The ancient forest was silent, shrouded in a heavy, unnatural stillness.

Towering trees stretched toward the heavens, their gnarled branches casting long shadows over the forest floor. In the center of this forgotten land, hidden deep within the misty wilderness, a massive crater marred the land. Its jagged edges glowed faintly with residual demonic energy, and even the fiercest of spirit beasts circled it warily, unwilling to step any closer.

Fear rippled through their primal instincts.

At the heart of the crater, surrounded by scorched soil and eerie silence, lay a girl—unmoving, yet impossibly radiant.

Her snow-white skin shimmered beneath the moonlight, so flawless and ethereal that it seemed untouched by the dust or blood of the mortal world. She looked as though she had descended from the Nine Heavens themselves, a celestial being fallen to earth. Yet there was a faint aura of demonic allure surrounding her, dark and intoxicating.

Her long black hair, laced with subtle streaks of crimson, fanned out beneath her like a silken pool of night, flowing endlessly in every direction. Her lips were crimson like blood, slightly parted as if whispering to the void. Her features were exquisite beyond comprehension—delicate, yet impossibly seductive, with long lashes resting on porcelain cheeks, and a serene expression that veiled immense power.

She wore a tattered black and red robe, intricately woven with arcane patterns, clinging to her perfect form in just the right places. The robe, though torn, could not hide her divine curves. Her body radiated a deadly allure, the kind that could shatter kingdoms and tempt even the heavens.

The wind rustled the leaves above, and the sky was veiled by shifting clouds, casting silvery light over the crater.

Amid the eerie stillness, the girl's long lashes trembled, and then, her eyes fluttered open.

A pair of crimson irises, glowing faintly with a demonic hue, stared up at the sky—deep, bottomless, and seductive enough to steal one's soul. Those eyes seemed to draw the very light from the air, exuding an otherworldly charm that was both hypnotic and terrifying.

She blinked slowly, her gaze moving across the forest canopy, then around at the cracked land and the distant silhouettes of beasts trembling in fear.

Her brows furrowed slightly, the only sign of her confusion.

> "What is this place…?"

Her voice was low, melodic, and cold—carrying an unshakable sense of authority.

"Where... am I?" she murmured, her gaze narrowing. "I… was in the hospital..."

Suddenly, a sharp pain lanced through her head.

> "Ah…" she gasped softly, clutching her temples as a torrent of memories flooded her mind—not just her own, but memories of another life, filled with blood, power, and darkness.

Her lips curled into a faint, chilling smile.

> "I've… been reincarnated," she whispered, her tone filled with cold amusement. "Looks like Satan wants to give me a chance..."

A low, unfeeling chuckle escaped her lips.

> "Heh..."

Her eyes swept the crater's edge. Around her, powerful spirit beasts—normally rulers of the forest—were now kneeling, trembling as if worshiping a god. Others fled in terror, their howls echoing through the trees.

To any other soul, the sight of such creatures bowing or fleeing would evoke shock, fear, or awe.

But to her?

She looked at them as one might glance at ants.

Her gaze was calm, composed, cold—a woman untouched by emotion, as if no force in the world could ever shake her soul.

Even in reincarnation, even the terror of beasts, was beneath her notice.

She rose slowly to her feet, her tattered robes flowing with the wind like dark flames, her slender figure regal and supreme. Her very presence seemed to suppress the air around her.

The night wind brushed against her skin, but the girl paid it no mind. Her crimson eyes scanned the unfamiliar forest, the dense trees whispering in a language only nature knew. Her gaze lingered on the terrain—the jagged crater, the eerie stillness, and the faint traces of demonic energy in the air.

> "I have to figure out where I am… what this world is," she murmured, her voice soft but unwavering. She took a graceful step forward, her bare foot brushing against the blackened soil.

But before her second step landed, a sudden tremor shook her soul.

Her body froze. She took a graceful step forward, her bare foot brushing against the blackened soil. But before her second step landed, a sudden tremor shook her soul.

Her body froze.

A chilling sensation surged through her veins—not from the outside, but from within. It was as though something ancient had awakened in the depths of her spirit, gripping her soul and dragging her inward.

Her pupils contracted.

> "What—?"Before she could resist, a force seized her consciousness, and the world around her shattered into darkness.

----Within the Soul Space

She opened her eyes to find herself standing in a vast, endless void, a realm of complete blackness, where even light itself seemed to bow to an unseen force.

Floating in the center of this dark expanse was a tower—immense, ancient, and utterly still.

Its surface was forged from obsidian stone, and it pulsed faintly with a dull, blood-red light. Strange runes and arcane symbols crawled across its surface like living veins.

On the front, glowing in silver demonic script, were the words:

"Heaven Suppressing System"

A flicker of interest crossed her face—curiosity, cold and calculating.

> "A soul tower?" she whispered. "It's within me…"

Her steps were slow and deliberate as she approached the tower

Her steps were slow and deliberate as she approached the tower. The void beneath her feet rippled with each step, and yet she remained calm, regal even in this alien world.

She stood before the massive iron doors, her fingers reaching out. Her palm pressed against the cold metal, and with a faint push—

Creeeeeeak...

The doors swung open, and a pulse of energy rushed out like a wave, brushing past her hair and robe, making them flutter as if caught in a storm.

A feminine voice echoed through the void—ethereal and ancient, carrying the weight of countless years.

> "Looks like... you have finally woken up." .The Empress's eyes narrowed, her hand lowering as she stepped calmly inside.

> "Who are you?" she asked, her tone unshaken. "And what is this pavilion... within my soul?"

Silence followed. Then came the soft sound of footsteps deeper inside, and a shadow began to form in the distance…
