Chapter 11 - Special Chapter 02 – The Wedding Chaos

Author Note :

As I was writing this, I suddenly imagined a

Dream Scene:

horse with tears in its eyes, staring at Jean with that "please marry me" look.

And just when the priest was about to announce Jean & Horse as husband and wife—

"NOOOO! HELL NO!" Jean screamed.

He jolted awake, gasping for breath. His mother shook him by the shoulder.

"Jean, get up already! You need to get ready for Eren and Mikasa's wedding."

Jean rubbed his face, muttering, "Tch… even in my dreams, that stupid horse is haunting me…"

Ymir's latest post blinked across everyone's feeds:

[2000 hours until Eren & Mikasa's wedding 💕 Can't wait!!]

Of course, that wasn't enough for her. The countdown continued daily—sometimes hourly. Pictures of Eren and Mikasa walking together, eating together, even accidentally sneezing together… Ymir uploaded everything.

By the time the actual wedding day arrived, she was vibrating with excitement. Her final set of updates scrolled like a drumroll:

[2000 minutes until wedding!]

[2000 seconds until wedding!! Omg I can see Mikasa right in front of me, she looks so beautiful 😭❤️]

And finally—

[The Wedding 🎉🥳👰🤵✨]

Her camera shutter worked harder than the scouts ever had during expeditions.

---

The courtyard was filled with laughter, tables of food, and everyone dressed in rare clean clothes. Ymir darted from corner to corner with her camera, making sure she caught everything.

Jean, however, was sulking in his seat. His thumb nail was nearly gone from nervous chewing. He stared at Eren and Mikasa at the altar.

Why him? Why does it always have to be him? That blockhead, that horse-brained idiot… Mikasa deserves better. She deserves…

Jean's inner thoughts cracked when a shadow loomed beside him.

Big Ymir leaned down, smirking, and said loudly enough for everyone to hear:

"If you're so jealous, Jean, you can always marry that horse standing next to you."

The horse neighed right on cue.

The crowd exploded in laughter. Jean nearly choked on air. His ears turned red as he tried to stammer back, but the horse nudged him with its nose like it actually agreed.

"Th-this is not funny!!" Jean shouted, but the laughter only grew louder.

---

Just then, the bouquet toss was announced. Mikasa turned around, bouquet in hand, her face calm but her inner thoughts far from peaceful.

Tch. If Eren wasn't here, I would've thrown this straight into Ymir's smug face. Another time…

But before she could even swing her arm back, Eren suddenly rushed forward—straight toward Ymir.

"Eren?! What the hell are you doing?!" Levi barked from his chair, halfway out of it already.

Armin blinked in disbelief. "Eren… are you running away from your own wedding? I know women can be scary, but come on, man—"

He didn't finish. Annie had silently grabbed his collar and dragged him a few steps away.

"W-wait, Annie! Please, I-I'm sorry, Eren! Please save me! She's going to kill me!" Armin flailed, but Annie didn't even glance back. She just pulled him close enough to hiss something only he could hear.

Everyone else turned back to Eren, who was now hugging Ymir tightly.

"I don't know why," he muttered, "but I felt something… weird. Like I had to protect her."

"From who?" someone asked.

"I… don't know. Just a feeling."

Everyone sweatdropped.

"You're so weird, man," Connie said flatly.

Jean groaned and muttered, See? Horse brain. Total horse brain.

---

Back at the altar, Mikasa sighed, grabbed Eren's hand firmly, and dragged him back into place. Her grip nearly crushed his fingers.

From the side, Jean was muttering again. "Unbelievable. That guy doesn't even know what he's doing, and he still gets everything…"

Levi, who was sharpening his patience (and secretly a knife), glanced at Jean.

"Tch. Don't worry, horse-face. Nobody's desperate enough to marry you."

The courtyard howled with laughter all over again. Jean buried his face in his hands, screaming internally.

---

The bouquet finally flew. It sailed higher than expected, twisted in mid-air, and landed perfectly between Annie and Armin.

For a moment, time froze. Annie stared at the bouquet. Armin stared at Annie.

Then, without warning, Armin leaned in and kissed her. Annie's eyes widened, her face turning scarlet. She didn't push him away.

The courtyard erupted in cheers—two weddings in one day!

Jean groaned louder. "First Mikasa, now Annie? At this rate, even the horse will get married before me…"

The horse neighed again, almost smugly.

---

Meanwhile, at the food tables, chaos of another kind was unfolding.

Sasha and Connie were already deep in battle, stuffing food into their mouths like it was their last day on earth. Connie's mom clapped happily at the sight, clearly proud.

Then Isabel locked eyes with Sasha. A silent spark passed between them. Without a word, both doubled their eating speed.

Furlan gawked. "H-hey, leave some for the rest of us!"

"Not a chance!" Sasha yelled through a mouthful.

"It's survival of the fittest!" Isabel added, cheeks bulging with bread.

Connie and Furlan both tried to hold them back, but that only made the competition fiercer. The table was stripped clean in seconds. Connie's mom laughed so hard she nearly fell over.

"Kids really do eat a lot these days," she chuckled. "I guess it's good—they'll need all that energy as they grow."

---

Elsewhere, Petra was desperately trying to stop Levi from stabbing Hange with a knife.

"Captain, please! It's just a joke—put the knife down!"

"There's nothing funny about her face," Levi muttered coldly.

Nearby, Isabel and Furlan paused from eating just long enough to try to stop each other from diving into someone else's plate.

And across the courtyard, Bartholdt had both arms wrapped around Ymir's waist, keeping her from strangling Reiner.

"Let me at him!" Ymir snarled.

"Nope. Not today," Bartholdt grunted, sweating buckets.

Historia blinked at the scene, cheeks pink, as Reiner's coat was tugged firmly by Ymir's hand. Reiner, of course, was dying inside.

---

The parents mingled together at a quieter corner. Eren's father, both his mothers, Mikasa's parents, and even Levi's relatives were there. For once, they all seemed relaxed.

Erwin's parents spoke kindly with others, and people nodded respectfully—after all, their son had been like a teacher to everyone's kids.

Kenny slouched in a chair, grinning.

"The boy I taught self-defense to… he turned into a damn strong man. Just wish he gained some height along the way."

Everyone laughed—even Levi's face twitched like he might kill Kenny later.

Jean's mom arrived a little late, carrying a large dish. "Hello, everyone! I'm sorry I'm late, but I brought food. This is my specialty!"

It was passed around, earning smiles and compliments.

For once, everyone was together—families, soldiers, and friends.

---

The last group picture Ymir posted captured everything at once:

Jean sulking in the corner while the horse posed proudly beside him.

Annie still blushing while Armin looked like he'd faint from happiness.

Reiner sweating as Historia sat calmly beside him, Ymir still tugging his coat.

Levi holding a knife while Petra restrained him.

Sasha and Isabel clashing over the last loaf of bread while Connie and Furlan tried to intervene.

The parents laughing, finally at peace.

And right in the middle—Eren and Mikasa, hand in hand, smiling like the world wasn't cursed anymore.

Ymir added the caption:

"Maybe the world was cruel. But today? Today it's beautiful. 💐"
