Mitsuki's Pov
Two days have passed since the last time I talked to that man. I went to the police station. They told me they were going to investigate and update me if they find any clues, regardless of the case, but it seems they're not doing anything. The police I talked to didn't even look serious when I told them about it. Ugh! I'm losing hope.
And Kaito keeps spamming me with questions. I know how worried he is. I bet that he's extremely shocked about my sudden calls. I don't usually call him unless there's an emergency, and I regret calling him. Now, he won't stop texting or calling me. He's already busy with work and I just had to do that. I checked his last message and read it.
"If you don't answer me within 24 hours, I'll go there and drag you here with me to Australia. I know something is wrong. Ah. fuck! You know I can't lose you.. Please, Mitsuki. I'm so fucking worried here. Please, call me when you get this. I'll be waiting."
I sighed as I pressed my forehead and let my body fall onto my bed. What should I tell him? I keep staring at my phone. I'm not ready for this. But he's being serious when he says he'll come here. I finally clicked the dial button, and he answered my call in less than a second! He must be waiting!
["Are you alright?! Tell me what happened? You're not hurt, are you? Mitsuki!] His voice is shaking. This is why I don't want to worry him.
["Hey answer me."]
"I'm okay Kaito, don't worry too much." I tried to make my voice sound normal. So, he won't get suspicious again, but we both know that I can't fool him.
["How can I not? You called without telling me. I thought something must have happened. I'm sorry I couldn't answer you. I was in the shower at that time..."] He sounds so deeply concerned, it pains me to see my brother in that kind of situation.
["FUCK IT."] I heard him yell. He must have blamed himself for not answering my call on time. He's always been like that. When it comes to me, he always loses his cool. I know how much he cares about me. I remember he promised to do everything just to protect me. I let out a small sigh and spoke.
"Hey, chill. I'm really okay. I just felt lonely at that time. So, I called you. You know me... I'm a bit random sometimes." I added a chuckle. I don't want to lie to him anymore, but I don't want to lose them either, so I'll keep my mouth shut for now and do whatever I can to stop that man from harming my loved ones. I'm the one who started this, so I should be the one to end this bullshit. I swear I will find any evidence or information I can use to sue that man.
["Please, just...."]
["Are you listening......"]
["I'm really worried........"]
["Please, say something. I cannot help you if you don't tell me what's wrong. I always told you not to keep your problems to yourself. Please say something."] I flinched. Ah fuck! I'm so deep in my thoughts again. I didn't even hear him.
"Everything is okay. Do not worry. I promise if there's a problem I can't solve on my own, then I will ask for your help. Please, can you just trust me, Kaito." I said. My voice rather sounds like it's begging. I just don't want to drag you into my mess. I heard him sigh, he sounds really frustrated.
"Don't you have a work?" I tried to change the subject.
["Don't try to change the subject. I know you're lying. I know that you're hiding something from me. And it concerns me deeply. However, I'll trust your words and this is the last time I will let this slide. You understand me?"] His worried voice changed into a serious voice. He can be scary sometimes. I admit that.
"Yes, boss." I joked, but he seemed so serious, I even heard him sighed.
["You have to answer your phone when I call you."]
"I will!"
["Take care, okay?"]
"Yes, sir!" He let out a small sigh before he spoke again.
["I love you. You cry baby."] I couldn't help but smile. It's been ages since you said those words to me. He is so cute.
"I love you too, Kaito." I heard him chuckling, and then we said our goodbyes.
After our call, I put my phone on the side table. I should take a rest for now, I'm so beat up!
Before I close my eyes, my phone beeps. It must be from Kaito. I grinned and took my phone again. I opened the inbox and saw an unregistered number, and now the dark feeling within me has returned.
"See you tomorrow."
