With a dull, heavy sound, a fountain of crimson blood burst from Black Vegito's mouth, spraying into the air and forming a horrifying cloud of red mist.
His face instantly turned pale. He could clearly feel his body rapidly falling apart; every muscle and every bone felt as though it were being smashed by a giant hammer.
Even so, there wasn't a trace of fear in his eyes. Instead, they burned with fury.
"AAAAAH!!"
With a furious roar, Black Vegito unleashed the power that had been lying dormant within him. It surged through his body like a raging flood, rushing wildly through every vein.
A brilliant rosy-pink aura erupted around him, growing brighter and brighter until it resembled a blazing sun. At the same time, an overwhelming power rampaged through his body.
Black Vegito suddenly swung his arm. The two gigantic energy scythes floating on either side of him were drawn together by an invisible force, shooting toward each other at incredible speed and merging in midair into an even larger, monstrous energy scythe.
Using his Ki to control it, Black Vegito raised the enormous weapon high above his head. A violent gale swept across the battlefield, the howling wind shaking the entire Forest Module as a sharp, piercing whistle split the air.
Then…
Black Vegito gripped the giant scythe with both hands and swung it down with all his strength.
BOOM!!
A terrifying blade of energy slashed directly into the point where the Kamehameha and Final Flash met. In an instant, both attacks were cut apart, and the violent collision of energy erupted into a massive explosion.
A raging storm burst outward. Neither Bulla nor Goten had time to react before they were blown away. Like kites with their strings cut, both of them were sent crashing heavily to the ground, kicking up clouds of dust.
Goten clutched his chest with a pained expression. It felt as though all of his internal organs had shifted out of place, and every breath sent a stabbing pain through his body. Despite his injuries, he gritted his teeth and struggled to stand.
At the same time, Bulla felt her consciousness sinking into a thick fog. Everything before her eyes became blurry and distorted, swaying like reflections on rippling water.
High above... a mysterious violet light silently appeared in the sky. Like a bolt of lightning, it streaked across the heavens at incredible speed, its faint glow reflecting into Bulla's unfocused eyes.
For that brief instant, the entire world seemed to be dyed in that dreamlike purple radiance.
Bulla instinctively shook her heavy head, trying to force herself awake, but no matter how hard she fought it, the dizziness refused to leave.
Just then, a dark figure suddenly appeared in front of her. Looking closer, she saw that it was Black Vegito.
One hand clutched his wounded chest as he slowly walked toward her. His body blocked her view of the sky, and the mysterious purple light vanished from sight, leaving only the rosy glow radiating from Black Vegito.
His twisted face was filled with rage and hatred. Grinding his teeth, he glared at Bulla.
"You two... you've really done a number on me. Now it's time for you to pay the price!"
Before he even finished speaking, Black Vegito raised his enormous, razor-sharp scythe high into the air, the gleaming blade pointing directly at Bulla. He was clearly preparing to strike a killing blow.
[Stop! What are you doing?! Killing is against the rules of the tournament!]
Just then, Zamasu's voice echoed through Black Vegito's mind once again.
"Damn it... I don't care anymore!!" Black Vegito roared.
With that, he prepared to strike. But the very next second, he suddenly grabbed his head in pain.
"Y-You bastard...! Stop getting in my way!"
[If you want Lord Zeno to erase you, then go ahead.]
The moment he heard the word "erase," Black Vegito immediately calmed down. He reluctantly lowered his scythe, preparing to eliminate Bulla instead of killing her.
Just then…
A thin energy beam shot toward him from the distance. Black Vegito turned to look. A staggering figure was slowly making its way toward him.
Goten's eyes reflected Black Vegito's twisted face. At the same time, painful memories began flooding back.
"You... bastard... Get... away from her..." Goten spoke in a trembling voice. His battered body swayed as though it could collapse at any second, yet for some reason, an invisible force kept urging him to stand back up.
The moment he saw Bulla's tattered clothes, he understood. The tragedy of the Future Timeline... must never happen again...
Images flashed through his mind, his mother... Uncle Krillin... Aunt Bulma... all of them being murdered right in front of him. And now, this monster was about to attack Bulla.
Bulla regained a little of her awareness. She looked at Goten's staggering figure and murmured, "...Goten?"
Her voice carried a hint of confusion. Not because he had stood back up, but because he looked... different.
He was still in Super Saiyan 4 Boundary Breakthrough. However, his pupils were silently changing to a dark crimson color. Bulla noticed it immediately.
Black Vegito, on the other hand, hadn't realized anything yet. He smirked mockingly.
"Oh? And what if I don't?"
As he spoke, he raised his scythe again. Just as he was about to press the blade against Bulla's neck,
BAM!!
A dull impact suddenly came from his abdomen. Black Vegito looked down in disbelief. A fist... was sticking out through his stomach.
When he looked back up, he found himself staring into Goten's eyes. Those strange, crimson eyes locked onto his own. Only then did Black Vegito realize something was terribly wrong with the boy before him.
But before he could react, Goten charged again.
BAM!!
He slammed his forehead violently into Black Vegito's. His face twisted with fury, spittle flying as he roared,
"I'll never let you kill Big Sister Bulla!!!"
