Black Vegito's broken, mangled body writhed madly on the ground while grotesque noises spilled from his severed limbs.
With his last bit of strength, he managed to cast a healing spell on himself.
A faint green glow slowly kindled in his hand and an inexplicable comfort spread through his ruined flesh.
Bit by bit, his tattered body began to knit back together. Slowly, he stood, his eyes burning with rage.
He muttered through clenched teeth, "Heh... lowly Saiya--"
But mid-sentence, Black Vegito suddenly froze in his place.
His heart lurched into his throat as a massive hand clamped over his mouth, cutting off his breath. His eyes darted wildly around.
He twisted his head with all his might, trying to see who it was. Before he could, though, a chilling whisper brushed against his ear:
"Shh... Don't speak, or you'll die."
Though the intruder's Ki was clearly being suppressed, the overwhelming pressure emanating from him was unmistakable.
For once, the defiant Black Vegito fell silent.
Whoosh!
With a flicker of shadow, Black Vegito vanished without a trace. A cold glint flashed across Gogeta's eyes as he looked warily toward the ruins.
He was sure he had sensed something flicker just then.
But whatever it was, it disappeared just as quickly. He spread his awareness to probe the area but found nothing.
'Was I imagining it?'
"Daddy! Let me introduce you to this world's mom!" Bulla suddenly interrupted his thoughts. "Oh, but... strictly speaking, I guess I shouldn't be calling you Daddy. After all, you're a fusion of Daddy and Goku Ojisan. Maybe I should call you Gogeta Ojisan instead."
"Or maybe we should wait until you defuse before seeing Mom," Bulla muttered to herself, caught in her own little tangle.
Gogeta only smiled faintly and said, "Heh, that's fine. After all, I'm neither Son Goku nor Vegeta. I'm someone else entirely, born from their fusion, with a will of my own. But even so, you are all still my children."
Then, he scratched his head before asking. "Though, it is strange. Why haven't I defused yet?"
Trunks shot him a sidelong glance before asking, "Um... Gogeta Ojis San? How long were you and Broly trapped in that space-time rift?"
Gogeta thought inwardly, 'as expected, Trunks really is the sharpest of them all.'
He replied, "Not long. I think it was only about ten seconds, maybe a little more."
Trunks rested his chin on his hand, deep in thought.
"Could it be that the rift in space-time extended the duration of the fusion? You only felt a few seconds, but for us, almost three days passed."
"What?!" Gogeta's face drained of color in shock. "It's already been three days?"
Seeing his reaction, Bulla quickly explained everything that had happened over the past few days. In turn, Gogeta told them everything that had happened on Earth.
"So Trunks is the one who killed the Dark Man from our timeline? Hmph, well done!" Gogeta gave him a big thumbs-up.
Trunks grinned, baring his teeth. "Honestly, that guy wasn't all that strong. Compared to the monster you defeated, Uncle Gogeta, he was nothing but a speck of dust."
Then, his gaze shifted to the unconscious Super Broly, who was lying where Gogeta had put him down.
"Two Brolys, twins, even. How are we supposed to tell them apart in the future?"
Bulla chimed in: "Oh, come on. Isn't it obvious? Just tell them apart by appearance! The one wearing armor is the older brother, and the one without is the younger brother."
Bulla's explanation made Trunks feel like she was stating the obvious. Anyone could tell them apart by appearance. But what if they called out "Broly"? Wouldn't both of them respond?
Trunks suggested, "Once we return, I'm going to learn the Devil Sealing Wave. If we seal one of them, it'll be easier to tell them apart. But before that, let's call the younger one Z-Broly."
"Since 'Z' is the last letter of the alphabet, it can represent 'the smallest.'"
Everyone agreed with Trunks's idea. This way, the two Brolys could clearly be distinguished. Just then, as they were chatting, a group of figures began slowly approaching them from the distance.
"Hey! Mom from this timeline is here! Gogeta Oji San, look!" Bulla was the first to notice them and spoke.
She pointed ahead, and Gogeta followed her finger.
Future Bulma was flying toward them, leading a group.
"Mom! Over here! The bad guys are already taken care of. I have a surprise for you!" Bulla waved excitedly as she flew full speed toward Future Bulma.
"What surprise?" Future Bulma's face lit up with a smile.
It seemed the crisis had been resolved. Trunks had delivered on his word, as always. Her eyes curved into slits of happiness as she looked toward Trunks and the others.
But then, suddenly, her gaze locked onto a stranger.
"Ta-da! Mom! Guess who this is?!"
Future Bulma lifted her head to look at Gogeta. Her expression froze. For a moment, she couldn't put her feelings into words.
The man before her bore a striking resemblance to both her deceased husband and her dearest lost friend.
Not entirely one or the other, but a perfect blend of the two.
Son Goku and Vegeta fused into one!
"Hello, Bulma of this world. My name is Gogeta." Gogeta greeted her calmly.
That single line shook Future Bulma to her core.
It wasn't one voice; it was two voices overlapping with each other: Son Goku's and Vegeta's voices were perfectly merged into one!
A thousand words welled up in her chest, but she couldn't bring herself to say anything. Suddenly, her eyes brimmed red with tears.
Nearby, Videl and Mai were equally shocked.
As a fused being, Gogeta had his own identity.
But he simply couldn't handle this kind of emotional situation.
So, he turned his head and patted Trunks on the shoulder.
"Trunks, if I remember correctly, you know the 'Forced Spirit Separation technique', right?"
"I don't know how long it'll take me to defuse naturally. Why don't you just separate me now?" Gogeta said, casting a side glance at Future Bulma.
Romantic entanglements like this? He wanted no part of them. It would be best to leave Vegeta to handle it after the defusion. After all, the battle was over.
Trunks instantly understood Gogeta's predicament and nodded.
"Of course, Gogeta Ojisan. I'll help you."
He placed a hand on Gogeta's shoulder and activated the Forced Spirit Separation technique.
Son Goku and Vegeta reappeared before everyone's eyes in a miraculous scene.
"Damn it! Finally, it's over!"
A roar of anger suddenly rang out.
"I thought I was going to be stuck with you forever, you bastard!"
The moment they separated, Vegeta started cursing at Goku.
