Opening her front door, Natsuki let out a long sigh.
No matter how you looked at it, Flandre's rampage had been a disaster.
She wrecked part of the city, knocked out the local security forces in a shockingly violent fashion, and then unleashed a barrage of attacks that looked like they would engulf all of Itogami Island.
Natsuki never wanted to face an enemy like that again.
Though definitely not on par with the Three Progenitors, the destruction that little vampire could cause when she went berserk was terrifying.
That girl needed serious discipline, Natsuki thought to herself.
Fortunately, everything was resolved quickly, thanks largely to Ren's indirect intervention.
He healed the people Flandre had nearly killed and erased their memories of the incident. With Remilia constantly engaging Flandre, there were surprisingly no casualties—only structural damage.
It was the one thing that let Natsuki breathe a sigh of relief.
"But still… If I'm not home, will these people tear my house down?"
Even though that mysterious man was present, Nagisa couldn't help but worry.
There were just too many mysteries about him. His power was unknown. He claimed to be Remilia's master, though she insisted she had no idea when their contract was formed.
Nagisa had inferred all this from their conversation.
Also, that man wielded a pure form of light energy…
And strangely, those two vampires didn't have familiars.
"Really… I've run into a whole bunch of weirdos this time..."
Sighing, Natsuki opened the door and found Ren and Remilia quietly sitting inside.
Only Flandre remained asleep nearby, still unconscious.
According to Ren, the mental strain from her destructive urges had overwhelmed her, and on top of that, Ren's light power had harmed her too deeply. She'd probably stay asleep a while longer.
"You're back… Miss Natsuki."
"Cleaning up after your mess was a pain. Considering how much trouble I went through, can you all please tell me exactly where you're from? There aren't monsters like you on Itogami Island."
"That's harsh. I'm still human, you know."
"If humans in this world were all like you, the Three Progenitors would be out of a job."
Though she wasn't sure how Ren's power compared to the Progenitors, the way he casually suppressed Flandre was unforgettable. He might not be as strong, but he wasn't far off...
Of course, that was just Natsuki's guess.
For Ren, dealing with a Progenitor would just be a matter of one slap or two. Whether he used full power or not depended on his mood.
"Wait, you said Three Progenitors? So this world really has True Ancestors?"
Remilia's eyes widened in shock.
In her world, True Ancestors once existed, but they vanished long ago. By the time she was born, her kind was already declining—a fact she only learned later.
She had led the last of the vampires into Gensokyo.
During the Vampire Incident, she and Yukari Yakumo made a pact: they purged unstable vampires who caused chaos in Gensokyo. That incident was the true reason behind the formation of the spell card rules by Yukari and the Hakurei Shrine Maiden.
The Scarlet sisters were likely the last vampires in Gensokyo now.
As for the outside world, Remilia had no idea.
"This world…?"
Natsuki immediately caught the implication in Remilia's words.
So these two vampires weren't even from this world?
In this world, like in DxD, the existence of other worlds was already part of the established lore.
Summoned beasts, after all, were creatures brought forth through massive magical rituals—from other worlds.
"So you're saying… you all came from another world?"
Natsuki looked curiously at Remilia and the girl lying nearby, Flandre.
If they were vampires from another world, then it kind of made sense they didn't have familiars.
After all, the systems of another world could be completely different from this one.
Remilia straightened her posture and walked up to Natsuki.
After observing her closely for a moment, Remilia found herself liking the girl more and more.
Probably because she didn't need to drag over a chair to see her eye-to-eye, like she did with Ren.
"My name is Remilia Scarlet, a descendant of the Dracula clan and mistress of the Scarlet Devil Mansion! That girl lying there is my little sister, Flandre Scarlet. Now, show me the respect I deserve!"
Remilia extended her hand toward Nayuki, her expression brimming with arrogance.
She even floated into the air just so she could look down on Nayuki from above.
Natsuki: "…"
She stared silently for a moment, then waved her hand.
Ripples of space spread out, and a thoroughly confused Remilia was once again suspended upside down and tied up.
Seeing this, Ren's eyes lit up, and he quickly stepped forward to take pictures.
"Waaaaaahhh! You insolent witch! How dare you disrespect the great Lady Remi! I am a devil who manipulates fate itself! Believe it or not, I'll make you unlucky for the rest of your life!"
"A devil who manipulates fate? Aren't you a vampire?"
Natsuki raised her brows, full of curiosity.
"Remilia is a vampire, yes, but she also has devil blood… a half-vampire, half-devil hybrid."
Ren answered first, and Natsuki immediately showed an understanding expression.
"I see, that's how you could tell I'm a witch?"
"Well, duh. Even if we're from different worlds, I could still smell the devil scent on you. Did you make a pact with one? Witches in this world are really weird. You're nothing like Patchy."
Remilia said all this while struggling against the chains. Her constant squirming made her look like a wriggling caterpillar.
"Mmm… Big sis…"
Just below Remilia's head, Flandre murmured in her sleep. Her cute little face wrinkled slightly.
Her eyelids fluttered open slowly, and her blurred vision gradually cleared.
And then she saw… her caterpillar-like big sister right in front of her.
In an instant, Flandre's eyes lit up with excitement. "Whoa! Big sis turned into a caterpillar!"
Without a second thought, she leapt into the air, grabbed Remilia by her feet, and began shaking her gently.
"Big sis is so cute! Totally lost all your dignity! This is exactly how you should be! Normally you're always sitting up high pretending to be all serious. So boring! If you've got time to act tough, you should spend it playing with me!"
Remilia: "…"
She had been happy to see her sister wake up, but now her soul left her body.
Today, a little vampire girl had her dreams completely crushed.
