Having gotten sleep just a few minutes ago in the whole night, Aria is woken up by a bang on the door.
Her eyelids feel heavy, her body sinking deeper into the bed as if it refuses to let go of the tiny sliver of rest she managed to steal.
She has barely slept even thirty minutes, and that short, restless sleep came only after a long night of twisting and turning, her mind consumed by one thought that refused to loosen its grip... whether she is pregnant.
The worry sits on her chest like a stone, and it hasn't left her for a single heartbeat. The uncertainty, the fear, the thought of carrying the child of a man who is about to marry another woman.. it all presses down on her until sleep became almost impossible.
When she finally slipped into unconsciousness, it wasn't peace that claimed her, but exhaustion.
And now the morning has ripped it away.
