Chapter 97 - A light of hope.

"Not you again!" Screamed Hazelwitch as she saw two very familiar wolves standing in her shop.

"Ava? Ava?" She looked around frantically. "Where'd she go?" She asked herself.

"We saw her outside..." Ronald tried to tell but was cut off.

"And who asked you?"

"Hazel..."

"No! You do not come here asking for things that you can not understand. I will no longer help you! Period."

"Valac!" Alfa said, and it somehow caught her attention.

"What?"

"We need to summon him," Alfa continued, and Hazelwitch went white.

"I was right! You are going crazy without your mate! As I had mentioned before, only a dark witch can help you, and I do not know any but one; Arya. But she's still going through the initiation process." Hazelwitch said immediately.

"There must be...."

"Oh, you do not speak to me, Ronald! I regret the time I promised to help you once. Once. I promised to help you once, and that once is over. Now, get out!" Hazelwitch said, realizing that she had helped them twice.

"You had promised to help once, but that one problem isn't fully solved, meaning..."

"It doesn't work like that!"

"Look, Hazelwitch, if you don't want to help us, we understand, but if Arya is successful in her mission, not only my pack, but every supernatural creature will be in danger; including witches," Alfa said, his voice full of hope and guilt.

Hazelwitch stopped for a few minutes, thinking about what he said. He was saying the truth, if they don't stop her from making that third sacrifice, everyone is doomed.

"I honestly don't know how to summon a demon, but maybe his mate can," Hazelwitch said thoughtfully. "But you must tell her to be very clear about the reason she's calling out to him. Whatever you do, do not surprise him!"

Alfa and Ronald looked at each other. Why hadn't they thought of this? Natalie can call out to him, and she doesn't need any forbidden rituals to do that. She can just say his name and he'll come to her.

"Thank you so much, Hazelwitch. We will take your leave now," Alfa said, hope shining bright in his blue eyes.

"Do you think this is a good idea?" Ronald asked as he reversed the car and drove for the parking exit.

"No. But we don't have a choice!" Alfa said honestly.

After getting on the main road, Ronald turned towards Officer Pete's house. Alfa had banished Kimberly from his pack, so he knew that it would be wrong to call them back, so he made a decision to visit them instead. He only hoped that they would cooperate with him.

After driving for some time, they finally arrived at their house. Ronald parked from across their house on the parking area, and both got out and headed for the front entrance.

Kimberly opened at the third ring of the doorbell. She stood at the door wearing a loose fitting blouse and a sweatpants, staring at the two men outside the door, clearly contemplating whether she should step aside and let them in, or slam the door at their faces.

"Who is it, Kimmy?" Came a man's voice from behind Kimberly. Pete's face appeared at the door, in full police uniform. It seemed he was just going to work.

"What are they doing here?" Pete asked, looking at his wife.

In normal circumstances, he would have whispered, but he knew they would be able to hear him anyway.

"We need your help," Alfa spoke first.

"Was I talking to you?" Pete asked, pointing a finger at Alfa. Alfa remained silent. "I didn't think so!"

"Kimmy?"

"I don't know, hon. I didn't ask!" Kimberly replied, her eyes still fixed on the two unwanted visitors.

"You know my number. Call me if you need to!" Pete said, clearly talking to Kimberly, but his eyes were on Alfa and Ronald. He then kissed his wife on the forehead and went outside.

All three stared as Pete's patrol car went down the road, disappearing in a corner.

"So...?" Kimberly said, folding her arms.

"We need your help... As a matter of fact, we really need Natalie..."

"Don't you dare pull my children into your mess. Because of you, I've already lost one daughter, and I will not lose another one!" Kimberly's words were stern and clear.

"Please, let me explain!" Alfa tried to plead, but by the way Kimberly was looking at him, it was clear she wouldn't listen.

"I don't care what happened. I will not let you manipulate Nats into doing your bidding," she spat.

"I'm trying to save Arya!... "

"Look, Alfa, I will no longer get involved in your business. You are the one who banished me, remember?"

"If you would have listened to me and not left her alone, none of this would have happened," Alfa said, staring Kimberly in her eyes.

"If you would have given me one chance, I could have tried to get her back," Kimberly shot back.

"And now I'm giving you that chance. Please help me bring her back. If she makes her third sacrifice, we will never get back the same Arya."

There was a long pause. Kimberly wanted to refuse with all her heart and every fiber of her body, but something in the way Alfa said that made Kimberly rethink her decision.

"What do you want from Natalie?" She asked after a long stare.

Alfa took in a deep breath. Ronald mindlinked him, 'Should we tell her the truth? I mean, what if she says no.'

'We don't have a fucking choice. Natalie needs to know what's happening and why we want her help, and Kimberly is the one who can explain the exact situation to her.' Alfa replied through the link.

"If you two want to talk amongst yourself, why don't you get the hell off my property and talk to each other," Kimberly said, as she tried going in and closing the door.

Alfa grabbed the door and held it open, being careful not to push too hard. If the door even cracks, Pete will make sure that they rot in jail.

Kimberly stopped and opened the door again. "Ready to actually talk to me now?" She asked.

"Please hear me out before you say anything. I need her to summon Valac," he said, and instantly heard Kimberly's heart race. "But... but it's only so he can give me a way to reverse Bella's hibernation!" He said before she could scream.

"What? Why him?" Kimberly asked.

"Because he is the one who put Bella into a dormant sleep, and he can reverse what he did. I don't know how to summon him, and according to someone we met, only a dark witch or his mate can call him. Arya is the only known dark witch alive, and Valac's mate is Natalie," Alfa explained as best as he could.

Another pause.

"But won't he get mad that Natalie has called him because of you?"

"Yes! That's why I need Natalie to be clear that I have to talk to him. Natalie will know how to pass this message through to him."

"What if he appears before Natalie could explain that to him?"

"Natalie will call him to talk, I won't be there. She will explain that I need to talk to him and that he can set a time for us to meet and tell me what he said."

After an even longer pause, Kimberly finally said, "Okay. I'll call Natalie here tomorrow and talk to her. But her decision is final!"

"Thank you," Alfa said, and both men walked back to their car and drove off, with a light of hope inside them. Maybe it's not too late to save her after all.
