Zack was walking to the Undertown Alley as locals called it, he was currently listening to Nick's explanation about the place
'That place is the hotspot for all shady activities... of course there are a few beyonders running rampant down there... but most of them are closely monitored and some of them are even our informants, so no one should cause too much trouble for you'
Then Chris enquired 'wait... isn't that a bit suspicious? I mean a girl reporting her family missing in a place known for beyonders, what if we're already in a trap?'
Arthur piped up 'well, there are quite a few apartments on the outer parts, and Leah verified that her house is decently far away from the inner area'
Zack cast a glance at Arthur behind him, Art was also accompanying him in this mission, although he preferred to stay quiet, acting his role as a Spectator down to the core.
Zack tried to figure out what would have happened to Elysia's family...
'so, we're looking at a beyonder case related to the black market here?'
They had already been informed that this case had a high chance of being a beyonder case as according Leah, a sequence 7 of the Seer pathway, who tried to divine the family's location ended up with nothing.
'hmm.. could be but it could also be a rampager'
A cold silence hung in the gray fog's transmissions, they had seen how scary a beyonder losing control could be from Kevin.
In a few moments, Elysia them led to the front of an very, very old building, the wood seemed to decay, and as they climbed the stairs the wooden floor creaked
Elysia stopped in front of a door that was locked as she took out a bronze key and slid it through the keyhole, and with a click the door creaked open, the inside was..
"empty?... there's barely anything here"
The room had a double bed in one corner, with a mattress that was rolled up and placed nearby, on the other corner there was a kitchen area that had a single burner and a basket for plates, there was a broken table just below the window in the room along with two chairs.
Elysia sighed and said with a shiver in her voice "it wasn't like this when I got here, there were a lot of broken and damaged things which I ended up throwing out before I realized that my parents and brother had not returned for a long time"
Zack looked at Art, Art observed the room and turned to Elysia "you should leave for a few moments, we'll take the investigation from here" then he bowed and said "thank you for your assistance and calmness in cooperating, most don't have such steadiness, we'll find your family mam"
Elysia seemed to hesitate for a moment but decided to leave the room.
Zack watched her close the door behind her as he turned and pulled out a paper and a pen from the inner pockets of his coat.
He then pondered for a moment before writing a statement
'The current location of the family that lived here'
He pulled one of the chairs and sat on it before repeating the statement two times, he then used cogitation to sleep as he had a vision
He saw decaying wood and creaking wood steps that he turned towards, he saw a familiar figure he had seen a few minutes ago, Elysia, then the vision shattered as he woke up with a frown.
Art looked at him and asked "what happened?"
Zack replied "when i divined the current location of the family that lived here, it pointed to Elysia"
Art pondered and said "well, she is part of the family that lived and she was closer, so maybe that's why your divination went off track, try a more precise statement"
Zack nodded and changed his statement to 'The location of Elysia's missing family members'
As he repeated the statement seven times and dozed off he saw a thick boundless gray fog that stood in front of him like a wall.
'divination interference? but from who? and why is it this gray fog again?'
Then the gray fog within him surged towards this wall and seemed to act like a key opening it, however immediately the gray fog that dispersed from the wall surged towards him using illusory whispers to attack his mind, however compared to last time this wasn't as serious and he could handle it from his previous experience as he focused on what he saw past the gray fog...
His eyes widen 'a ritual?! for an evil god?!'
Past the gray fog he could see three people standing around an altar as they seemed to mutter something, one was a tall young man with black hair and a small build, the other man was old, around his fifties with white hair mixed with his black hair, and lastly there was a woman with brown hair and deep blue eyes.
As Zack thought about what the ritual could be, the trio suddenly turned in his direction as he felt a chill up his spine and stopped the divination without hesistation.
He looked at Art and said "i-it's bad"
