Ficool

Chapter 40 - Chapter 40: Daily Shop

After a brief setup, Geeta opened the match recording.

Both teams' lineups were fairly standard, mostly featuring Pokémon with Paldean flair.

"Isn't he a Gym Leader specializing in a single type?" Rika quickly noticed this point and her eyes lit up.

Due to factors such as learning costs and breeding difficulty, the vast majority of Gym Leaders—even Elite Four members—were experts in a specific type.

A young Gym Leader confident enough to handle multiple types was already someone they should pay more attention to.

"However, I feel like I've seen that opponent's ID somewhere before…"

Rika casually mentioned it but didn't dwell on it, continuing to focus on the ongoing match recording.

The opening clash was between Talonflame and Staraptor.

Even though Larry wasn't particularly familiar with Flying-type tactics, his basic skills were solid.

At the start, he used Staraptor's Intimidate ability to force the opponent into making a switch.

"To play birds in front of Larry is a bit like teaching a master carpenter how to swing a hammer."

Rika thought silently.

However, the subsequent brilliant exchange between the two sides quickly overturned her thoughts.

The opponent not only refused to switch but also successfully predicted Larry's Roost command with Taunt, leaving Staraptor in an awkward position.

If this move still had some luck involved, perhaps it could be dismissed as a fluke…

But the near-simultaneous switch decision that followed was undoubtedly a complete grasp of the opponent's intentions.

Rika's eyes instantly cleared.

To continuously predict Larry's commands—this person doesn't seem simple at all!

"Interesting."

Geeta's lips began to curl upward.

But she didn't rush. Instead, she continued to observe quietly, arms crossed, waiting for both sides' next moves.

The further they watched, the more intense Rika and Geeta's expressions became.

After clearing out Oricorio with Maushold, which posed a significant threat to Talonflame, the situation returned to a near-mirror image of the opening matchup.

This time, however, Larry appeared to be struggling, unable to withstand the opponent's relentless assault.

With Bulk Up's slow stat boosts and Roost empowered by Gale Wings, this Talonflame gradually became the overlord of the battlefield.

In the end, as expected, it swept through the remaining five Pokémon, sealing the victory.

The match recording lasted only a few minutes, quickly reaching its conclusion.

And after watching the match, their expressions shifted from initial relaxation to one of astonishment.

"Where did this little monster come from…?"

Rika was stunned. She hadn't expected anyone to defeat Larry so effortlessly.

Even though Larry wasn't particularly skilled with Flying-types, he still possessed the tactical foundation of a seasoned Elite Four member!

However, looking back at the entire match, the most glaring difference was clearly in their fundamental strength?!

Larry didn't lose due to his own mistakes—he simply hadn't anticipated the opponent's tactical setup, allowing himself to be led around by the nose.

"Wait… Azure Wing…"

Rika suddenly remembered something and immediately pulled out her phone.

Upon opening Poké TV, everything became clear.

"So it's that tutorial streamer who suddenly appeared in the last couple of days!"

She had only glanced at it during her free time, so she only vaguely remembered the name.

But the tactics he demonstrated were ones even Elite Four members and Champions could learn from, earning praise even from Hoenn Champion Steven.

"I didn't expect him to be a local from Paldea…"

Unlike Rika, who looked astonished,

Geeta's lips curved into a smile, her eyes burning with anticipation.

Had he turned the suffering from that accident into nourishment, spending half a year at the Gym to achieve sudden enlightenment?

With this mindset and strength, if properly nurtured, he would surely become a pillar of Paldea in the future.

"I remember… the Sunshine Gym is supposed to participate in the year-end qualification assessment, right?"

Geeta suddenly turned to Rika.

"Coincidentally, Brassius from Artazon has requested an extended leave to gather materials. He probably won't be able to serve as a Victory Road assessment Gym Leader next year."

"Why don't you go check things out a few days early?"

---

"Achoo—!"

After ending the stream, just as Aiden was about to stand up from his seat, he suddenly sneezed for no apparent reason.

"Guess I really need to keep warm—I'm sneezing now…"

Aiden scratched his head and prepared to put on a jacket.

[Stream Ended. Growth Points Earned This Stream: 817]

The familiar text once again appeared before his eyes.

Since taking Iono's advice and incorporating more Paldean elements into his streams, the rewards from the past two streams had begun to grow exponentially.

Previously worried about scraping together 50 points, he now found himself flush with resources.

Truly a reliable senior!

As his points accumulated, an obvious question arose.

Aside from the Travel System, there needed to be a way to spend these excess points—but it seemed the system only offered berries…

Surely it couldn't just be a berry stand!

Just as Aiden was feeling perplexed, the system text changed once again.

[Cumulative Growth Points Exceed 1000. Daily Shop Function Unlocked!]

?

So there really are good things?

Eagerly, Aiden focused his mind and entered the system shop.

Aside from the neatly arranged rows of berries and TMs, a new icon indeed appeared in the upper right corner.

Daily Shop.

Upon entering, four cards of different colors immediately refreshed before his eyes.

It felt reminiscent of the gacha games from his past life…

Suppressing the urge to comment, Aiden flipped over all four cards in one breath.

[TM 083 - Ally Switch (Purple)], [Fresh MooMoo Milk (Green)], [Choice Specs (Blue)]

And…

[Efficiency Pill (Gold)]

Wow, a golden legendary!

A familiar old man's voice seemed to echo in his ears as Aiden stared blankly at the four cards.

He was intimately familiar with Ally Switch, but the issue was that it was primarily popular in doubles battles, and its practical applications still needed exploration.

Moreover, the price tag of 5000 was beyond his consideration.

As for the MooMoo Milk and Choice Specs, those weren't worth considering at all.

For him, anything that could be directly bought with money wasn't worth exchanging for points.

Thus, there was only one choice left!

[Efficiency Pill (Gold): Take just one pill, and you can complete any task or study with high efficiency!]

[Price: 900 Growth Points.]

Though it was only one pill, it conveniently fit within his acceptable price range…

And Aiden was certain he'd seen this item before.

If he wasn't mistaken, it was probably one of Doraemon's magical gadgets, right?

He never expected to obtain something of such conceptual power.

Once again, Aiden's perception of the system expanded.

So you're also a growth-oriented system!

Since it existed in the Pokémon world, this item should also work on Pokémon training, right…

Thinking this, Aiden didn't hesitate and pressed the purchase button.

Buy it now!
