Chapter 82 - 82

As Cyclops finished speaking, several physically mutated mutants stepped forward and began to chop down branches with their abilities. These mutants, who had been imprisoned by William Stryker for an unknown period, particularly understood the importance of unity.

Even though these mutants didn't fully agree with Charles's earlier decision, they knew that the most important thing at the moment was to find a way to leave this desolate wilderness.

Soon, the mutants who could walk helped each other, while those who couldn't, or had injuries, were carried on their backs, creating a scene that resembled a group of refugees.

"Jean, I will come back for you!" Cyclops took one last look at the gradually calming water in the distance, silently swore an oath in his heart, and then led the group of mutants away.

Much later, as the group left the wilderness, Charles slowly woke up. However, Magneto and Mystique showed no signs of waking. Magneto was severely injured by the hidden move Huang Wen had left behind after forcefully using his abilities.

Mystique, on the other hand, had been acupunctured by Huang Wen, and it wasn't yet time for the pressure points to release. Most importantly, Mystique was a physically mutated mutant and did not possess any special powers, nor could she break through the internal energy Huang Wen had left behind with her abilities.

"Where's Jean?" Charles, after waking up, scanned his surroundings, his expression changing slightly, and he quickly asked Cyclops.

"..." Cyclops glanced at Charles but said nothing. Unlike Jean Grey's sacrifice in the original story, this time, if Charles hadn't chosen to align with Magneto against Huang Wen, Jean Grey wouldn't have had to sacrifice herself. Therefore, Cyclops and the others felt a bit uncomfortable at this moment.

"Jean was swallowed by the torrent trying to save us," Ororo sighed heavily, her eyes red, and said, "All of us were saved by Jean. All of us owe her our lives..."

"Jean..." Charles slowly closed his eyes, trying to sense Jean Grey's presence, but he scoured the entire Alkali Lake where they had been and found no trace of her. This made Charles's heart sink slightly. "Ancient One said before that we should leave quickly. Was it because of Jean? Has the power within Jean awakened?"

"Professor, since you're awake, what should we do next?" Ororo, seeing Charles remain silent, looked around at her exhausted companions and asked, "Are we just going to walk all the way back to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters? We don't even know how far that is..."

"We'll take a car!" Charles looked at the still unconscious Magneto beside him and made a decision in his heart. "Then, we need to deal with the aftermath of Nightcrawler's assassination attempt on the president, and minimize the impact of this incident. After that, we'll talk about what happens next..."

"A car? Where would we get a car?" Ororo was momentarily stunned. She looked at the expectant gazes of everyone around her and whispered, "Professor, there are no cars in this place..."

"No, the car will be here soon." Charles, after making certain decisions, seemed to regain his confidence, smiling calmly. He didn't notice that Cyclops's expression darkened slightly upon seeing his smile.

Not long after Charles finished speaking, everyone indeed heard the sound of a car, and it was heading towards their muddy location.

It was a bus, large enough to accommodate everyone, and even had reclining seats for resting. However, the bus driver's eyes were vacant, clearly under Charles's direct control.

Soon, everyone boarded the bus. Once inside, they all breathed a sigh of relief, collapsing into their seats, their faces etched with exhaustion.

"Erik, don't worry, you'll be fine." Charles looked at the unconscious Magneto beside him, a thought flashing through his mind. "I will definitely make you recover!"

Huang Wen was unaware of the X-Men's predicament.

He was currently on the second floor of the Wing Chun Martial Arts School, teaching Huang Liang to practice martial arts. Huang Liang had already mastered the entire set of Wing Chun, meaning he had reached the proficient level.

Although this level was still not comparable to Huang Wen's master level when he first transmigrated, it was more than enough to deal with the boxer Terry. Therefore, Huang Wen began to teach Huang Liang the Sunflower School martial arts of Bai Zhantang, including finger strength training, preparing him for the future Sunflower Acupoint Tapping Hand.

It was already past eight in the evening. Some of the apprentice-level students had already left, but students like Jack and Max, who were either more diligent or had ulterior motives, had not yet departed.

"Ding! A large number of unfamiliar individuals have appeared on Chinatown's surveillance. According to analysis, they are carrying a significant amount of firearms and firepower!"

Just as Huang Wen was still instructing Huang Liang, a notification sound suddenly came from Huang Wen's watch, causing his gaze to narrow, and he subconsciously released his perception.

"Hmm? Gang members? Is the Star Gang here for revenge? Doesn't seem like it. These guys don't have the same style as the Star Gang at all!" Huang Wen detected the aura of thugs, a hint of doubt flashing in his eyes. However, since there was a large amount of firearms and firepower, he couldn't just ignore it. It wouldn't be good if the neighbors or students in Chinatown were injured.

"Sniff! Sniff!" Logan, who was in the living room watching SpongeBob with Yuriko, suddenly twitched his nose, followed by his ears, and then immediately stood up. Yuriko also stood up, looking a bit puzzled.

"Can't you sense it?" Logan was momentarily stunned and asked Yuriko, "You didn't inherit my and that bastard's sensory abilities?"

Yuriko also didn't speak, just shook her head, indicating that she hadn't inherited their beastly sensory abilities, or rather, from the moment Yuriko was born, she lost her self-judgment ability, and her beastly senses should have atrophied because of that.

"Master, what's wrong?" Huang Liang looked at Huang Wen, who had stood up, and stopped, somewhat puzzled.

"Come on, let's go downstairs. Someone's coming to cause trouble." Huang Wen shook his head. "You come down too, but be careful. Don't make a move until I say so."

"Yes! Master!" Hearing that someone was coming to cause trouble, Huang Liang wasn't nervous at all; instead, he was subtly excited. After all, he was a hot-blooded young man. After practicing martial arts for so long, he hadn't had a single opportunity for real combat. Now that he finally had a chance, Huang Liang was naturally a bit excited.

"You sensed it too?" At the stairwell, Logan looked at Huang Wen and asked with a frown, "Who is it?"

"A group of gang members, coming aggressively. I don't know which gang is coming to cause trouble." A hint of disdain flashed in Huang Wen's eyes. "Let the students evacuate the neighbors first, so as not to harm the innocent..."
