Chapter 5 - 5

After finalizing the plan, Xu Mo closed his eyes.

He began sifting through the vast amount of cultivation techniques in his mind, intending to select a secret art that would increase his power output amplitude.

Fortunately, these cultivation techniques were like glowing orbs, floating in his consciousness.

Xu Mo would only receive the information about a technique when he examined it.

Otherwise, this immense amount of information would have already caused his brain to explode.

After about ten minutes, he chose a blade technique called Lei Dao (Thunder Blade).

Though it was called a blade technique, it was actually a power exertion skill.

Lei Dao (Thunder Blade) was part of the Nine-Fold Lei Dao (Thunder Blade) and, after being refined, was divided into thirty-six layers.

Each layer cultivated would double the force exerted when using the technique.

Once fully cultivated, it could unleash thirty-six times one's original strength.

This meant that with his current 600kg of strength, cultivating the first layer would allow him to exert double the power, or 1200kg. If all thirty-six layers were mastered, his power output could reach 21600kg.

This was the effect of skill.

Moreover, this skill was not limited to blade techniques or attacks.

It could amplify the power exerted by any part of the body.

Since there was no combat blade available, Xu Mo directly used his hand as a blade and began practicing.

He practiced for an entire night.

"Too difficult!"

Looking at the faint light appearing in the sky outside the window, Xu Mo couldn't help but exclaim.

After a night of practice, the first layer of Lei Dao (Thunder Blade) still hadn't reached the introductory stage.

However, he was not discouraged.

After all, it was a secret art that could double his strength; if he could master it in one night, he would be somewhat disbelieving.

He stood up and stretched his body.

Perhaps due to the Super Soldier Serum, even though he hadn't slept all night, Xu Mo still felt energetic.

An hour later, in the dining room, the large dining table was laden with various dishes.

Wanda looked at the dozens of breakfast options on the table with a surprised expression.

"Because I didn't know your preferences, I instructed the kitchen to prepare a little bit of everything!"

Noticing her expression, Xu Mo put down his milk and explained.

After hearing this, a hint of emotion flashed in Wanda's eyes, but thinking of his madness last night and the faint pain still radiating from below, this emotion quickly vanished.

Hypocrite!

With a blank expression, she picked a plate of toast and fried eggs from the table and silently began to eat.

Xu Mo, meanwhile, pulled over a napkin and wiped his hands.

He took a bank card from his pocket and handed it to her.

"There's 100 million U.S. dollars in here; it's more appropriate for you to give it to Pietro!"

After speaking, Xu Mo turned and walked out.

Wanda's eyes flashed with surprise when she heard the figure.

"Such a large sum of money?"

She and Pietro only earned less than two thousand euros each month.

This money was almost equivalent to their combined salaries for three thousand years.

Though she was unwilling to admit it, Wanda knew very well that even if she were sold, she wouldn't be worth this much money. What exactly did he want, to offer 100 million U.S. dollars at once?

Could it be that he genuinely liked her?

How could that be!

She forcefully banished that thought from her mind.

She herself was indifferent to money, but Pietro was different; with this money, he should be able to live the life he dreamed of.

Although Pietro was about ten minutes older than her, due to the differences between genders, she had always taken care of him like an older sister since childhood. Pietro, in turn, almost always listened to her.

"Pietro will probably be so excited he won't be able to sleep after he gets it!"

Thinking of this, the resentment she felt about being forced to marry him unconsciously dissipated a little.

After a moment of hesitation, she still whispered, "Thank you!"

Xu Mo, who was walking towards the door, paused at her words before continuing outside.

"It seems Wanda truly cares deeply about her family!"

Xu Mo, walking out the door, came to this conclusion.

...

In a remote town over a hundred kilometers from New York, Xu Mo drove and stopped in front of a two-story Villa.

The mercenaries he had recruited all had some criminal records, more or less.

So Xu Mo arranged for them to stay in this remote location.

There were nine of them in total.

Normally, they operated in the Golden Triangle, and this time they came to America only because of Wanda's matter.

In the backyard, Xu Mo looked at the nine people standing in a row: seven men and two women.

"For the next period, you will be assigned to Hell's Kitchen and join various gangs. Your goal is to incite conflict between the different gangs!"

Hearing Xu Mo's strange request, all nine people showed expressions of confusion.

However, due to their excellent discipline, no one questioned him.

"Boss!"

Their Captain, Sauron, stepped forward.

"To what extent does the conflict you refer to need to reach?"

Xu Mo gave him an approving look.

"That's what I was about to say. The more intense the conflict, the better—preferably the kind where they fight to the death!"

Seeing the nine people nod, Xu Mo led them to the back of his car and opened the trunk.

Inside the trunk, black briefcases were neatly arranged.

Soon, the briefcases were distributed to the nine people.

"These are your starting funds, two million U.S. dollars each!"

"Remember, spare no effort. Within one month, at least one-third of the scum in Hell's Kitchen must die!"

"Understood!"

The nine people nodded.

Xu Mo waved his hand.

"Alright, set off. The gangs you are to join and your forged identities are in your briefcases!"

As they disappeared from sight, Xu Mo sighed.

"There are still too many constraints in this World!"

One must know that in this World, there are not only the Avengers and X-Men but also Sorcerer Supreme Ancient One of Kamar-Taj.

If he caused too much trouble, it would easily attract their attention.

Otherwise, if he directly planted a few mushroom bombs in the Land of the Rising Sun, he surely wouldn't lack points.

With his current financial resources, it wasn't impossible to acquire a few mushroom bombs, but doing so would likely expose him to the scrutiny of various forces.

For now, he could only keep this idea in his mind.

Thinking of this, Xu Mo's gaze once again turned to Dimensional Teleportation in the mall.

With this ability, he could go to Worlds without high-level combat power and plant one there.

Thinking of this, Xu Mo shook his head and drove away.

...

On a mountain road connecting the town to Manhattan, Xu Mo was driving slowly.

Because he was going to see the mercenaries, he drove a casual, ordinary Ford to avoid attracting attention.

The car had just passed through a dense forest.

A police car rushed out of the forest and chased after Xu Mo's car.

Finally, as Xu Mo drove onto a cliffside road, the police car accelerated and abruptly cut in front of his vehicle.

Fortunately, his reaction was quick enough, and he hit the brakes just in time.

Even so, the car swerved, nearly crashing into the mountain wall beside it.
