Chapter 2 - Deaths

When his senses came back, Leon realized he was lying on the floor. Classmates were in the same situation.

But other than him, everyone seemed unconscious. As he expected, there were men in armor in this place. The room seemed like a chamber from some medieval castle. Suddenly one of the unconscious people stood up.

"Where am I?" It was the class teacher.

She quickly got the gist of the situation and instantly attacked the armored people.

"Who are you? Do you know the consequences of your actions?"

Other than Leon no students seemed to have regained consciousness. He decided not to stand up just yet. Instead he looked at the Simulator.

[LIFE SIMULATOR – v1.0]

[Notice: Emergency Activation Triggered]

[Life Simulator was prematurely activated before reaching the required threshold.]

[Currently Available Simulation:

A sharp pain shot through his head, his pupil dilating, Leon felt as if time had once again slowed down.

[Age 17: I regained consciousness inside a castle and noticed my class teacher fighting armored people.]

[Instead of helping, I made my mind to run away when I got the chance.]

[I decided to watch the battle secretly while playing unconscious.]

[For some reason the class teacher appeared to be weaker. She was a level 3 Esper with alteration type Esper ability. She should have been able to turn this whole area into her domain with a flick of her finger but she was barely managing to make anything at all.]

[Meanwhile students also started regaining consciousness. Some tried to fight the armored people but they were also beaten unconscious. I noticed my classmates also seemed to have weakened for some reason.]

[And when the teacher died, the battle was over for everyone.]

[The resisting students were beaten easily without the teacher. The few remaining students who were awake surrendered themselves.]

[This was the moment I decided to run. There was a closed window in the chamber made of glass. I couldn't see clearly behind it but chose to risk it.]

[I dashed toward the window and broke through it.]

[I fell out of the castle from a great height.]

[I fell to my death. Before dying I realized if I was a bit more left I could have landed on a balcony.]

[You died.]

[The simulation has ended.]

[You died at the age of 17.]

Another pain strikes in the head.

[Age 17: I regained consciousness inside a castle and noticed my class teacher fighting armored people.]

[When the teacher died, using the distraction I ran.]

[I dashed toward a window and broke through it.]

[I fell out of the castle from a great height but managed to land on a balcony.]

[From the balcony, the ground was nearly three floors below. I risked it and jumped while reducing the impact by rolling forward.]

[Before I could decide which way to go next I heard something and looked up. Someone had jumped directly from the window I did and landed right in front of me. It's the person in the red cape.]

[I was locked in a stone room with a female classmate.]

[This girl is called Anna. She is from a prestigious family and one of the three top students in class.]

[I realized she was also attempting to escape just like I did but also got captured.]

[I inspected the room. The walls were made out of stone. There was one small window, too small for me to escape. The room had only one bed and Anna took it, while I slept on the floor. There was no negotiation.]

[The next day the some food was delivered. Two pieces of bread and one bowl of soup. Anna looked at it and said there was no way she was going to eat such lowly food and I can eat it if I want.]

[I said I definitely didn't want to use that bucket so I would rather starve.]

[At the mention of the bucket Anna realised the main purpose of having an empty bucket in the cell and her face was something to look at.]

[Until now she looked calm and didn't do anything impatient. But now, she was preparing to break the door.]

[The door didn't look so strong for her to break but no matter how she tried, it wouldn't budge.]

[2nd day passed. I spent most of my time sitting in the same position. Taking small bites from the bread and spending most of the time sleeping.]

[In the meantime Anna became more talkative. Unlike me she walked around the cramped cells all the time trying to find a solution. She tried to break the door a few more times, but it wouldn't break.]

[Although I tried to save energy she always kept asking questions. She thinks that everyone has been kidnapped by a foreign country for some evil motives. Most of the time she asks the same questions about why the rescue was not arriving yet. I knew why but couldn't explain it.]

[I didn't bother explaining. But she kept asking me about myself. Every time I answered with short sentences.]

[On the 3rd day. Anna learned a lot of things about me. I had to answer her questions to shut her nagging. Now she occasionally looks at me with pity.]

[She promised when they returned to school she would definitely treat me well. For some reason her words made me feel happy even though i was not so sure if we would be able to return.]

[At night, Anna asked if me if I already asleep. I responded with a groan. A few hours later she asked again but I didn't respond.]

[Late at night, Anna slowly got down from the bed. She looked at me, lying on the floor. She lifted her right hand and her whole arm turned into a crimson blade. She slowly said sorry. And stabbed at me.]

[The blade almost managed to stab me but I moved at the last moment, dodging the blade, locking my legs around her neck. In the next moment I stabbed her eye with my pen.]

[Anna screamed. But then her blood flowed into my body. Her blood melted my flesh, dissolving it immediately wherever it touched. I saw Anna pulling out the pen. Red blood from my body flowed toward her.]

[And the last thing I saw, my blood was used to heal her.]

[Freaking beast.]
