"Well, you're safe now," Chen Fan said to Lucy behind him. "Consider this your good fortune, and a reward for not snitching on me on the way here." He then walked into the guild, leaving Lucy with a complicated expression.
Later that afternoon, almost everyone from Fairy Tail went looking for Loke because he had suddenly left without a word, only leaving a note that he was quitting the guild. Everyone went to search for him, and of course, Chen Fan went too.
But Chen Fan wasn't searching aimlessly. He waited outside Lucy's house. When she came out, he followed her. They arrived at Karen's grave, which was surrounded by a great waterfall. The night sky here was incredibly bright. From a distance, Chen Fan watched Lucy and Loke from a secluded corner.
It wasn't long before the Celestial Spirit King appeared, and Lucy successfully made Loke her Celestial Spirit. Having used too much magic, Lucy fainted. Loke was then sent back to the Celestial Spirit World by the King.
Suddenly, the Celestial Spirit King spoke. "Powerful being from another world, is there anything you wish to convey?"
Hearing this, Chen Fan no longer hid. He emerged from the shadows. "Yo, hello," he greeted with a smile. His face then turned suddenly dark. "How can you be so sure I'm from another world?"
"Your soul's aura is different," the Celestial Spirit King replied.
Why do these old guys love to be so mysterious? Chen Fan thought to himself.
With a sigh of resignation, Chen Fan said, "Alright, I have nothing to convey. You've been alive for many years, do you know what happened on July 7th of the year 777?"
"No."
"How cruel!" Chen Fan raised his middle finger, losing interest. After all, those things weren't important to him, he was just asking for Natsu and the others. He walked to Lucy, picked her up, and carried her out of the cave.
Suddenly, Chen Fan stopped, without turning around, and said, "Oh, and don't tell anyone that I'm not from this world." He stomped his foot.
The sound of the waterfall suddenly went silent. Time in the surroundings seemed to have stopped, the air becoming still. All that was left was the rhythmic sound of Chen Fan's footsteps, "Tap, tap."
After Chen Fan's figure vanished, the waterfall flowed once more. Seeing Chen Fan disappear, the Celestial Spirit King also let out a breath he had been holding. Perhaps others couldn't feel Chen Fan's power, but he had clearly felt a great pressure from Chen Fan's soul. He stared in the direction Chen Fan had gone, then his own form slowly disappeared.
After Chen Fan flew in through Lucy's window, still carrying her, he gently laid her on the bed. Lucy's unconscious face was slightly flushed, but her eyes were tightly closed. It was clear she wouldn't be waking up anytime soon. However, no scene from a third-rate romance novel unfolded. After setting Lucy down, he simply jumped out the window.
Seeing Chen Fan seemingly running away after doing something bad, Lucy sat up in a rage and hit the side of her bed. "Ow, that hurts!" She blew on her hand, then suddenly smiled, buried her head in her blanket, and fell asleep.
The next day:
"You're a Celestial Spirit?!" Natsu exclaimed dramatically.
"Loke?" Happy was also extremely surprised.
"Yeah, that's right," Loke said, awkwardly scratching the back of his head.
"I knew there was something weird about you," Natsu said, circling Loke as he observed him.
"I didn't feel anything strange!" Gray sighed.
"But you're not an ox or a horse," Natsu said, confused.
Loke explained, "Natsu, the Celestial Spirit Virgo that you know also has a human form, right?"
"No, she can turn into a gorilla."
"Yeah, that's also true."
Lucy turned her head to Natsu. "Loke is the Celestial Spirit Leo."
Not far away, Chen Fan sat and smiled as he watched them. Mira set a beer down in front of him. Chen Fan looked up, surprised.
Mira leaned in and whispered in his ear. "You knew from the start, didn't you, that Loke was a Celestial Spirit."
Chen Fan smiled, leaning even closer, and whispered, "Don't you think your actions are a little bit tempting?"
Mira's face immediately flushed red. "Go to hell!" She glared at Chen Fan, playfully angry.
Suddenly, Mira said, "Now that this mission is over, you can finally rest, right?"
"How would I know! I'm not the Master, I want to rest too," Chen Fan said, flopping onto the table.
Natsu yelled, "Chen Fan, hurry up! Loke got us free tickets to the Lizard restaurant, he wants us to relax!" After shouting, he went back to his discussion with Lucy.
"Oh, yeah," Chen Fan replied. He went back to his thoughts. Mira spoke again. "Now you can rest here, right? This isn't work, you don't have to go."
"I can't! The guild is being renovated, a lot of work is waiting for me," Mira said in a pouty tone, as if to say, 'Choose, you go or you stay here.'
"What are you guys waiting for? Do you want me to leave you behind?" Erza's dominant voice boomed.
"So fast!" Lucy and Gray complained.
Chen Fan looked up and saw Erza already wearing a swimsuit and shorts, with a swimming ring around her waist, pulling a cart full of large and small bags. Chen Fan broke into a cold sweat. After all these years, he still wasn't used to Erza's huge bags, as if she were moving house.
"Why are you still sitting there? Hurry up and come with us!" Lucy yelled at Chen Fan.
"Oh, yeah," Chen Fan said, looking at Mira with an apologetic glance, then followed. Mira stomped her foot in annoyance.
"Mira-chan, beer over here!" Macao yelled.
"Get it yourself! I'm off today," Mira said, throwing her towel onto the counter and leaving.
Macao was surprised and patted Elfman, who seemed to be sleeping behind him. "Elfman, what's wrong with your sister? Why is she so angry?"
Elfman didn't even lift his head. "She probably had a fight with Boss Chen Fan. Don't worry, she'll forget about it by tomorrow."
"Oh, I see." Macao turned to Wakaba. "It's nothing, Chen Fan got caught cheating on Mira. Come on, let's keep drinking."
It was a good thing Chen Fan wasn't there, or Macao would have been beaten to a pulp.
