Chapter 24 - Chapter 24

"Oh... Is that so, Happy? Watch me," Lucy told Happy, as if a brilliant idea had sparked in her mind, a cunning glint in her eyes.

After speaking, she awkwardly walked to Chen Fan's side, "Brother Chen Fan..." Her voice was high-pitched and drawn-out, sending shivers down everyone's spines, an overly artificial tone.

Natsu walked to Lucy, touched her forehead, and said, "Lucy, you're not so hungry that you've gone crazy, are you?" His expression was worried.

"I don't want to hear that from you," Lucy said, swatting Natsu's hand away in annoyance.

"Brother Chen Fan, I'm so hungry, can you give me something to eat?" Lucy asked, her eyes wide, trying to look innocent, a sweet yet deceptive smile.

"Of course, little sister Lucy," Chen Fan said, an inappropriate smirk on his face, indicating that he knew what was going on, a cunning smile returning Lucy's.

The conversation between these two disgusted everyone, a large sweatdrop appearing on their heads. Chen Fan pulled out a tempting chicken leg, steam still wafting from it, and handed it to Lucy.

Erza watched from the side, her eyes filled with burning resentment, as if witnessing the greatest betrayal, a fire of jealousy blazing in her gaze. Chen Fan thought, 'Oh no, a woman's jealousy is so terrifying, even the Fairy Queen isn't immune!'

Erza's resentment spread far, surprising Natsu and Gray, who were beside her. They didn't know who had offended their Fairy Queen this time, but that terrifying aura made them instinctively move away, feeling a chill down their spines.

Chen Fan quickly ran to Erza's side and pulled out another pile of food, its aroma wafting into the air, but Erza completely ignored it. "Hmph..." She even turned her head and snorted, like a pouting little girl, her lips pursed.

Suddenly, Natsu pointed in a direction and said, "A village!" His eyes sparkled, a new hope.

"If it's a village, there should be food!" Makarov and the others said in unison, then ran at high speed, leaving long trails of dust behind them, as if energized anew. Only Chen Fan slowly packed his belongings behind them and walked leisurely, a faint smile on his lips.

Seeing that everyone had stopped in front, Chen Fan stepped forward and asked, "What's wrong? Why are you all standing here?"

Chen Fan looked at Erza. "Hmph." Erza turned her face away, an annoyed snort. It seemed women were truly difficult to appease.

Seeing this, Chen Fan felt a bit awkward. He then looked at Natsu and Gray. "Hmph, hmph." Both turned away, snorting at each other. With no other recourse, Chen Fan shifted his gaze to Makarov and Happy. "Hmph."

"Hmph."

Finally, Chen Fan turned his gaze to Lucy. Lucy was about to explain to Chen Fan when she suddenly felt a chill. She looked around and saw everyone except Chen Fan staring at her with dark, threatening eyes, which startled her. She lowered her head and whispered, "I don't know," her voice barely audible.

Seeing that he was completely unpopular at that moment, Chen Fan didn't bother anymore. He found a nearby table, sat at the edge of the village cliff, took out red wine and food, and began to eat calmly, while watching Makarov and the others in the village below, who had already started making a racket, their voices faintly audible from a distance.

After a while, he was somewhat tired, so he lay down and fell asleep, also blocking out the noisy sounds from the village.

When he woke up, he found that all his food had been eaten, not a single bit left for him. Seeing the people whose mouths were still greasy, he said, "Who ate all my food?" His tone was flat, yet there was a hidden note of danger.

"We don't know," several voices said in unison, their tone feigning innocence, yet there was a tremor in their words. Their skin was still quite thin, and their faces reddened with embarrassment, avoiding Chen Fan's gaze.

"Alright, I didn't say anything. You don't need to be so nervous. Let's go. Now that you're full, you should have the strength to return." He looked up at the sky and said with a hint of emotion, "It's been a long time since I came back. I'm a little homesick." His wistful tone infected everyone around him, a rare and melancholic moment, a silence filled with meaning.

Everyone fell silent, the atmosphere turning poignant, a faint sadness enveloping them. Seeing this, Chen Fan realized he seemed to have said something inappropriate. Chen Fan stroked his chin and muttered to himself, "I wonder if my Mira and Retribution chins miss me?"

The initially somewhat melancholic atmosphere was utterly shattered by Chen Fan. A cluster of '#' symbols appeared on Erza's forehead, signaling her boiling anger, tiny wisps of steam perhaps visible from her ears.

With a "bang," she punched Chen Fan in the back of the head, sending him tumbling to the ground with a THUD, then walked forward with steady strides, an aura of fury radiating from her. The others, seeing that the Fairy Queen was angry again, dared not speak to Chen Fan and quickly caught up, leaving Chen Fan sprawled behind.

Looking at the people ahead, Chen Fan truly didn't know how long he could remain like this. He felt rather emotional in his heart, a complex surge of feelings.

Suddenly, Chen Fan turned around again and said in a low voice, his tone calm yet terrifying, like a final warning from an elite soldier, his red eyes glowing sharply. "I hope you truly turn over a new leaf and do nothing that harms Fairy Tail. Otherwise, I don't mind killing a few more people." His calm tone was even more chilling than a direct threat, a cold promise.

But quickly, Chen Fan turned back, a brilliant smile returning to his face, and yelled ahead, "Wait for me, Xiao Shasha!" As he spoke, he dashed towards Erza, as fast as lightning, leaving a trail of mist behind him.

The one called by Erza's made-up name trembled again. She quickened her pace and yelled back at Chen Fan, "I told you not to call me Xiao Shasha, Xiao Shasha! Why don't you listen?! You're not allowed to call me that again, or I'll kill you!" She walked even faster, trying to get away, a panicked yet annoyed expression on her face.

"Then how about Xiao Ai'ai?" Chen Fan asked, not giving up, his voice still cheerful.

"No!" Erza replied firmly, her voice piercing.

"Then Xiao Lu'lu?"

"Also no!"

"Then call me..."

"Ah... I won't listen, I won't listen!" Erza covered her ears with both hands, shaking her head desperately, and said, her pace growing faster and faster, until she finally started running, with Chen Fan behind her, leaving a long trail of dust on the road, a comical chase scene.

Makarov and the others also laughed happily, enjoying the sight. Only Chen Fan and Erza could make her so helpless, and it was only at this moment that they could see another side of the usually serious Erza, her adorable childish side.
