Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 - An adventurer's party, a journey, and a magisteel golem.

...1 year and 5 months later...

The more your level increased this past year the more sub-quests you got. And so your level increased as well. This was great considering there was still one quest you needed to complete before you turn 10 and go on an adventure to get your spirit. The quest in question was, of course, the one that would allow you to gain Extra Skill [Magic Sense]. You only needed to gain a little more XP to actually hit level 50, and today was the day!

[Congratulations! Quest Complete.]

Sub Quest - A lesson in Cooking Nr.172

You and your mother want to cook something together.

- Help your mother cook (1/1)

Reward:

3XP

Claim Rewards?

[Yes] [No]

You had completed this quest an hour ago. The reason you waited to claim it was because you wanted to test out the skill in the peace and quiet of your room.

Y/N: (Finally. Waiting so long for things to happen has become rather tedious. YES!)

You claim the 3 XP and the ring of your level increasing echoed in your mind.

[Level Up]

Before going to claim the skill you checked your current status.

Y/N: (Stupid you even give me an option here, YES!)

[System Notification]

Extra Skill [Magic Sense] acquisition successful.

The skill instantly began to take effect. Your world seemed to expand and you could feel everything around you. The light waves in the room, the sound waves from your parents cleaning dishes downstairs, all thanks to the magicules swishing around and interacting with reality. All of this was being converted into data you could understand without having to use your normal five senses.

Y/N: (No wonder a normal human couldn't handle this... even I have problems doing so right now. But I can feel that that's just a matter of practice.)

You smiled and lay down on the bed. The next thing was actually getting to go on an adventure, and that would happen in about 6 months. Until then you'd spend time getting used to this new skill.

...6 and a half months later...

The busy sound of people walking on the streets to get to wherever they needed to go. And the place you needed to go to was the guild headquarters. As you were ready for the trip now, Guildmaster Fuze apparently found a group of strong adventurers that could get you there. Today was the day you set out to the Republic of Ulgracia, so you were going to meet up with Fuze so he could introduce you to this adventurer party.

Turning a corner you were standing right in front of Bulmund's Free Guild branch. Adventurers were coming and going, some in groups and others not. The building was fairly tall, which was to be expected from something as prominent as the Free Guild. With a deep breath, you stepped upstairs leading to the entranceway, and went into the building.

It was pretty nice inside the building too. There was a big bulletin board on the wall with all the different quests for adventurers. There were also counters with secretaries handing out rewards for quests and confirming accepted quests. You were probably supposed to talk to one of those, so you walk up to a free space at one of the counters.

"Hello. How can I help you, sweetie? Are you lost?"

The greeting was less than ideal, and you kinda cringed at that, but you understood the fact your body was still only 10 years old. You subtly shook your head and sighed.

Y/N: "Hello, ma'am. I'm not lost, I'm here to talk to Guildmaster Fuze. My name is Y/N Mythrize."

"I see? Let me check."

She seemingly took something out of a hidden storage behind the counter and flipped through what you believed to be a book. It didn't take long until she found what she was looking for.

"Ah yes, here it is. I'll go get him."

"That won't be necessary."

You looked at where the second voice was coming from, and sure enough, Fuze had just appeared behind you.

Fuze: "I'll take things from here. Good work."

The secretary nodded and bowed a little.

"Of course, Guildmaster."

Fuze: Nods back and turns to you. "C'mon, kid. I hope you're ready." Starts walking.

You smirked and pointed your thumb to the backpack you were carrying.

Y/N: "As ready as I'll ever be, sir! My mom made sure of that." Follows him.

...

You both made your way through a corridor, up some stairs, and to a fairly big room. The room had a table in the middle with a couch on either side of it. Fuze sat down on one of them and beckoned you to sit beside him. You put down your backpack beside the couch and did just that, with an appropriate distance of course.

Fuze: "The party should be here any second. ...Those idiots are late almost every time..."

Y/N: ""Idiots"?"

Fuze: Sweat drops a little. "Listen, kid, uh... This party might not be the perfect strong and reliable group, but they're the best I've got. So please don't tell your mother."

Y/N: "Oh, it's fine. As long as I get what I'm searching for, everything's dandy! And on top of that, I'm no snitch."

Fuze: Phew. "Thanks, kid. What are you searching for, anyway? I didn't ask last time we met."

Y/N: "That's a secret!" (I can't tell him why, it'd be way too risky. Ever since I got the knowledge that the book about the Dwelling of the Spirits I inspected is ancient, I inspected the other books too. About 10% of the books were written in the same ancient text, and these books happened to contain the most crucial information about the workings of this world. I don't know where they come from or how they got into the library, I'll have to investigate that too.)

Fuze: "If you say so."

Just then you both heard a knock on the door, which was opened shortly after. Three people entered.

"Excuse us.~"

"...We're pretty late, aren't we? Sorry..."

They were a colorful trio, to say the least. Two guys and a girl. The first of the guys had a sword on his back and looked like a young man with medium-length hair who was seemingly just before his prime. The second guy had a tall and strong build with short hair, which was complimented by a goatee. Then the last one was a young girl with blonde hair who had some form of markings under her green eyes and was wearing a blue tie-on headband. None of them had heavy armor and wore clothes more suited for travel.

(Screenshot taken from season 1 episode 6. WEBNOVEL NOTE: It depicts Kaval's party. More infor here: https://tensura.fandom.com/wiki/Kaval's_Party.)

Fuze glared at them before letting out an annoyed sigh.

Fuze: "Sit down, you three."

They did as told and sat down on the other couch.

Fuze: "Kid, this is Kaval's Party. Or as I like to call them the Three Fools of Bulmund. Kaval, Ellen, and Gido."

Y/N: Smiles. "Nice to meet you!"

Kaval: "... What's a kid doing here?"

Ellen: Gives Kaval a slap to the back of his head. "That's not nice to say and you know that!"

Gido, the one with the strong build and the goatee, simply sighed due to the two.

Fuze: "Get your shit together, you three. Anyway, this is Y/N Mythrize. I've already informed you about the mission, so you should know what the goal is."

Kaval: "Wait, this is the person we're supposed to escort to Ulgracia?"

Y/N: "Yes. Ulg Nature Park specifically."

The party looked perplexed. They all turned toward Fuze for some form of explanation.

Fuze: "I don't know why either. Point is that this mission is very important. You get Y/N to and back from Ulgracia without any harm coming to him. If he doesn't make it or is hurt, once you get back I'll make sure to punish you accordingly." (If I even have enough time before Mrs. Mythrize hunts me down...)

Ellen: "W-well. It's nice to meet you too, Y/N."

Kaval: (I was hoping the person we need to escort would at least be some form of merchant who had experience. But a kid? We don't know how to take care of a kid, what are we supposed to do?!)

Fuze: "And don't worry about him too much, he packs a punch. Give him enough to eat and drink, protect him if you encounter a strong monster, and he'll be fine. I have also prepared a carriage for you which should have enough food for both ways. I'll be leaving now, make sure to plan well enough."

He stood up from the couch and made his way to the door, exiting the room. This leaves you alone with Kaval's Party.

Kaval: "So let me get this straight, we're supposed to get a child all the way through the Kusha Mountains, along the Jura Forest, and through Sarion just for him to find something at a park... Nothing against you kid, but what the hell?!"

Y/N: "Yeah, well... If you put it like that it sounds kinda stupid. But trust me, it's important."

Kaval: "Important for what?"

Y/N: "For me!"

As Kaval sighed Gido had already taken out a map and placed it on the table.

Gido: "It's best if we just go and complete this quest. Maybe the kid will tell us what he's searching for on the way."

Y/N: (I won't. I can't let the information about chosen heroes become public. It isn't common knowledge for a reason, so I'm not gonna mess that up by saying something I shouldn't.)

You four started to plan out the trip using the map.

...Later...

You all came up with a good route for maximum efficiency. You had stocked up on knowledge about trips, good travel ways, and the geography of this world before coming here, so the team was surprised by how much you knew. And now you're sitting in a carriage pulled by two horses, currently driven by Kaval. There were boxes with food, which had some form of ice magic on them to stop the food from getting bad. You had left Londo about two hours ago. But that was basically nothing considering that the time needed for one way was an entire week.

Since the three of them were already worried about having to take care of you, you made sure to not complain in any way. But there was another thing you were thinking about, and that's revealing your ultimate skill to them. Not necessarily the fact it's ultimate, but more so that you get stronger the more monsters you kill. You hadn't killed one yet, but if they could get a strong monster hurt enough so you could get the last hit, your level would skyrocket!

Y/N: "Hey, I have something to tell you guys."

Kaval: Chuckles from the front of the carriage. "Are you finally gonna tell us why we're doing this?"

Y/N: "Hah, you wish."

Ellen: "What is it?"

Y/N: "I have a skill that, uh, how do I explain this..."

The more you thought about it the weirder it became to tell someone about level mechanics that haven't played a game or have never seen anything close to it. But after a second you figured it out.

Y/N: "It basically boosts my strength permanently. But the way it does that is by gaining something from killing monsters until it has enough to elevate itself to the next stage of power."

Kaval: "So you..."

Y/N: "So I was hoping that you'd let me get the last hit in if we encounter a monster."

Gido: "I'm sure we can do that."

Ellen: "Mhm!" Pats your head. "We'll make sure that skill of yours gets strong."

Kaval: "Is that why the Guildmaster deemed you special enough to hire us for this job personally?"

Y/N: "It's part of it, but mostly because I managed to hit him in the face."

The whole group was surprised at that.

Y/N: "He wanted to test my strength! But he was going easy on me and I took advantage of that. After that he told me he was impressed and said I could ask him for a favor, so here we are."

Kaval: (What kind of monster is this kid? I'm sure Fuze was letting his guard down, but still, it's kind of terrifying.)

This conversation kind of broke the dam between you and the group, and what followed was cheerful chatter. The way was proving itself long, but the talking made it more bearable. You also had some fun encounters along the way. Let's take a look at those, shall we?

...Encounter 1...

You were currently traveling through the mountains and you had one day of travel behind you.

But then...

The carriage stopped.

Ellen: "Hey, why-"

Kaval: Whispering. "Shhhh! Come, take a look at this."

You, Ellen, and Gido made your way to the front and looked forward. In front of the carriage, a little distance away from the horses was a metallic slime. It didn't seem to be moving.

Ellen: Whispers. "A metal slime?! Aren't those super rare?!"

Y/N: Whispers. "Wow..." (I wonder how much XP it gives?)

Gido: Whispers. "They're known to be extremely fast as well. You don't want to get hit by one coming at you."

Y/N: (Okay, I won't be able to kill it, but can I get some skills off of it? Temporary Replication!)

Your eyes began to glow a yellow gold and you began to see its skills.

(X) Body Armor

(X) Physical Attack Resistance

(X) Cold Resistance

( ) Corrosion Resistance

( ) Darkness Attack Resistance

( ) Earth Attack Resistance

( ) Electricity Resistance

( ) Gravity Attack Resistance

( ) Heat Resistance

( ) Light Attack Resistance

(X) Self Regeneration

( ) Spatial Attack Resistance

( ) Water Attack Resistance

( ) Wind Attack Resistance

Y/N: (What the hell am I looking at?! Jeez!)

You quickly copied the ones that will hopefully prove the most useful, which you did by marking them (the X). You only marked four since you made sure to copy your father's Future Attack Prediction beforehand.

What you noticed after was Kaval pulling out his sword while Gido tried to stop him, to no avail. Kaval jumped out of the carriage and was about to strike the slime.

Y/N: (Idiot.)

At supersonic speed the metal slime jumped against Kaval's stomach, making him fly back. And with the same speed, the slime disappeared behind the endless stonewalls. You and Gido face palmed as Ellen quickly rushed to Kaval to heal him.

...Encounter 2...

It had been 5 days of travel. You were now making your way through the Sorcerous Dynasty of Sarion. The way was fairly peaceful, you hadn't come across any more unwanted monsters blocking your way. But you were still near the Jura Forest, so what happened next was to be expected. You were attacked by a pack of three Leech Lizards. They looked similar to the Jurassic Park version of the velociraptors, except for their scales which were more smooth and skin-like.

But they were no match for the three experienced adventurers. They killed two of them but managed to hold one down for you to kill. Kaval gave you his sword.

Kaval: "Here you go, kid."

You raised the sword and cut the lizard's head clean off.

[+173 XP]

[Level Up]

Y/N: "Heh. Not bad, not bad at all."

...Encounter 3...

It was nighttime. You had traveled for 6 days and were almost at your intended destination. There was a fire sizzling. Gido, Ellen, and Kaval were already asleep. You of course were trying to sleep too, but then you noticed a presence with [Magic Sense].

Y/N: (Is that a monster or something? What could be there?)

You got up and silently grabbed Kaval's sheathed sword. Then you made your way through some bushes until you found what you picked up on. There was a white direwolf, probably an albino, lying on the ground while breathing heavily. The red spots on its fur suggested that it was hurt. You could also feel no other presence nearby, so you didn't know what to make of this.

Y/N: (Aww, it seems to be in pain... poor thing...)

But then the wolf noticed you and growled.

Y/N: "Whoa, easy!"

It didn't listen and activated one of its skills.

Common Skill - Coercion

A shockwave erupted from it as it howled at you. You needed to steady yourself as you began to be pushed back.

Y/N: (This pressure is insane, what the hell?!)

You collected all your strength and began to walk forward against this thick wall of sound. The closer you came, the more desperate the wolf grew and tried to push you away the best it could. But as soon as you were standing right in front of it it stopped its skill, laying its head down on the ground and closing its eyes.

Y/N: (I know what this is... when pray has no more strength to run or to fight back they usually lay down and accept death. This is so sad, I don't want to kill it now! ...Wait. Maybe I could make it my pet? Yeah, that's way better!) "Don't worry, I don't plan to hurt you."

You sat down next to it and began petting its fur. It looked at you with the corners of its eyes, unsure of what to do.

Y/N: "It's gonna be okay." (The others should be awake due to that skill, and they should find me any second now. They could probably heal it up.)

But what you didn't expect is for a system notification to pop up.

[System Notification]

[Albino Direwolf] is trying to use Intrinsic Skill [Thought Communication].

Access blocked by System Skill [Stat-Driven Mind].

Allow access?

[Yes] [No]

Y/N: (Eh? It's trying to talk to me? Sure...? Yes.)

The voice was feminine, so you quickly concluded that this wolf was a female.

Y/N: "You didn't seem like you deserved to be killed. You hadn't done anything to me, really."

Y/N: "Not physically, no. As I see it, you were trying to push me away, which's understandable."

<... You... aren't making any sense...>

Y/N: "Oh well, I never really did."

...

Y/N: "I'll take care of you, don't worry."

The wolf let out a growl.

Y/N: (Yeeah, didn't think of that... I'll have to change my plans a bit.) "I was thinking more along the lines of partners, but oh well. I'm still gonna help you, my friends are gonna be here any second and they'll heal you up. After that, you can choose to go away."

<...>

The wolf had cut the telepathic link.

...

After waiting in silence for a bit you heard bushes moving in the distance.

Kaval: "Kid, where aaare yooouuu?!"

They were searching for you.

Y/N: "Over here!"

The sound of the bushes rustling and other plants being pushed away came closer until the party came into view.

Kaval: "Jeez, kid, you gave us a scare! We heard the howling and we thought something happened to- ... Is that a direwolf you're petting?"

Y/N: "Yes."

The group stared in disbelief and the wolf just huffed.

Y/N: "She's hurt and doesn't have a pack anymore. Could you heal it?"

Ellen, Kaval, and Gido looked at each other confused before Ellen stepped up and used Recovery Magic - Heal. In no time the red spots on the white wolf's fur vanished and it was completely healthy again. It stood up and looked at the group.

Y/N: "As I said. You can leave now, we won't hunt after you."

She sat down and looked away.

Y/N: "...You want to stay?"

Another huff, but this one seemed a little more embarrassed.

Y/N: "I'd be delighted to have you come with us! Just follow me."

You stood up and began to walk back to where you had set up camp for the night, and the wolf followed close behind. But you made sure to give Kaval his sword as you walked past him.

Kaval: Whispers to the others. "Did that kid just tame a Direwolf?"

The others nodded, just as surprised as he was.

So everyone, including your new companion, went back to sleep near the carriage.

...

And those were the most important things that happened. Now it was the seventh day, Gido was currently driving, and you were nearly at your destination. You were currently sitting in the carriage with the white wolf having her head resting on your legs while you scratched her behind the ears. She seemed to enjoy it quite a bit.

Y/N: "Hmm... I can't just continue just calling you "wolf". Maybe I should give you a name? But what to choose..."

Kaval: "Kid, I'd wait until you got what you're looking for. We can't have you collapsing so close to our destination."

Y/N: "True..." (And I read that a monster increases in power based on how strong the one that named them is. So it'd be beneficial for her too if I wait until I get a spirit. ...If I get one in the first place.) "Sorry, your name has to wait a bit."

The wolf just huffed in response, signaling that she didn't care.

Gido: "Hey. We're getting close, do you at least have a landmark we should look out for?"

Y/N: "A tree. Like a pretty big one."

Gido: "Is it the one in front of us?"

You raised an eyebrow and looked out the front of the carriage. There was one tree that was noticeably bigger than all the other ones. The locations matched pretty well, so it was a possibility.

Y/N: "I think so."

Gido: "Alright. It shouldn't be long until we get there."

...An hour later...

You finally arrive at the foot of the tree. And sure enough, it had a big door inside of it. This was it.

(Source: https://tensura.fandom.com/wiki/Dwelling_of_the_Elementals?file=Episode_22.png

Replace Rimuru and the others with you and the group.)

Everyone was staring at it in awe.

Kaval: "Damn. This is what you wanted to find?"

Y/N: "Yup. But you lot shouldn't go in."

Kaval: "What?"

Ellen: "But we came all this way for this! Shouldn't we at least be allowed to see what's behind it?"

Y/N: "Maybe, but behind that door is a secret you all shouldn't know about. I came here because I need to go in there and obtain something. And I want to do it alone. Give me your sword, please."

Kaval: Hands you his sword. "But why, kid? You know we're here to help you, right?"

Y/N: Chuckles. "Because I'm selfish. Don't think too much into it."

You walked up to the door and looked back to the others.

Y/N: "I don't know what's gonna happen in there. If I don't come out till tomorrow it's probably safe to say I'm dead or something similar. You all wait here."

The party sighed and the wolf looked away. You also quickly activated Temporary Replication to replace Cold Resistance with Common Skill [Coercion].

Kaval: "Alright, guys. Let's set up camp and wait for him to return."

You smiled and looked back to the big door. Then you pushed your body against it, and it actually opened pretty easily, almost as if it did so by itself, letting you stumble inside.

...

The door promptly closed behind you once your body was in. You also heard a ding in your mind, signaling that a quest had just been completed.

Y/N: "Right! I forgot I had that quest."

Your level was promptly raised to 58, and you now had 309 Stat Points. And now with that done you looked around. The walls were similar to the door, and the floor was made out of some kind of magic. You spent some time walking through the weird corridor, hoping to find what you're looking for.

But as you went further away from the door you suddenly heard giggling all around.

Y/N: (Creepy...)

"Would you look at that! A child has found themselves walking through here. How did you even find this place? Didn't your parents tell you not to run away?"

The laughing stopped as you stayed silent and looked around, but you didn't find the source of that voice. It was directly projected into your mind, similar to the wolf's Thought Communication.

"Now listen here, child. I don't want to be responsible for your demise, so I'll let you go. Better take this chance because I'm only gonna give it to you once!"

The door that was previously a long way back suddenly moved behind you.

Y/N: (She's letting me go? Probably thinks I'm a child in need of rescuing or something.) "Nah."

You begin walking again.

"W-what? Listen, I'm telling you to go. You should really accept my kindness, be grateful I'm even considering letting you go!"

The door moved behind you again. You continue walking, unbothered.

Y/N: "And I'm telling you no. I know what I'm here for, and I intend to get it."

"Oh. So that's how it is."

The laughing started again.

"You're no normal child, are you? No. You're something special, I can feel it. This is great! You're actually the first one to try out my new test! [Small World]!"

The hallway around you suddenly changed with a fit of blue and white light, in front of you the weird magic floor became a set of stairs leading to some room. Stepping up those stairs to inspect the circular room you saw a... robot? You didn't know what to exactly call it. You stepped further into the room with an uneasy feeling, and the exitway disappeared as soon as you got in.

"Now better get ready, it's time for your test!"

The weird metallic golem or whatever it was suddenly started to move and stood up, its singular eye glowing an ominous red. If you didn't have the certainty of [Retry] you'd probably think you're about to die.

The Colossus dashed at you with amazing speed, but luckily you managed to dodge just in time for you to not be hit.

Y/N: (This thing is fast, holy shit!)

Now onto the next part. You quickly activate almost all of your buffs.

Unique Skill [Learner] - Parallel Analysis

Common Skill [Strengthen] (STR +10 = 168)

Unique Skill [Overpower] - Stat Overload [Elemental Colossus | STR +30% = 218, AGI +20% = 171], Area of Power

A prominent red mist started to swirl around you. You didn't slack off in the time needed to get to this point, and your proficiency with abilities like Parallel Analysis only got better. The two consciences now work better in tandem and don't need to talk to each other anymore. On top of that they don't have a set role, and work more the way that one covers the other one's weak spots in awareness.

The Colossus dashed at you with amazing speed, and you dodged to the right. It tried to grab you as you dodged but you were just a little lucky enough for it to miss.

Y/N: (How the hell can I even damage this thing? That doesn't look like normal metal. As long as I'm unsure if I can cut through it somewhere I'm not gonna use Kaval's sword.)

The Colossus jumped high into the air and aimed to land at you, but you just got out of the way by jumping back. The shockwave coming from its collision with the floor made you fly away even further. You managed to realign yourself in the air and land with your feet. You didn't waste any time and used the dust cloud obscuring the Colossus's vision to jump into the air and land on it.

Y/N: (Knowledge Absorption!)

A wave of yellow energy traveled over the Elemental Colossus originating from where you touched it. And as it did, information on its functions and mechanisms manifested in your mind.

Y/N: (So it's made out of magisteel, which is very tough to get through. And it uses spirits to work? Interesting. But I don't see any weakness I could just exploit! Damn it!)

As soon as the Colossus noticed you were on its back it tried to grab you, but its bulky structure made that kind of hard for it to accomplish.

Y/N: "Hah! Having trouble, big guy? Too bad that speed and strength aren't very useful if you can't get to your opponent!"

The colossus stopped and got ready to jump.

Y/N: "Uh oh..."

It started to jump up very high and down violently, and you were doing your best to hold on. But eventually, because of the smoothness of its magisteel, you lost your grip and flew off of its back. And once you were shortly before colliding with the floor you saw one of the Colossus's fists about to collide with you.

Y/N: (Shit!)

As you collided with the fist and then the wall you activated one of the skills from the metal slime. Body Armor instantly made scales manifest where the fist was about to impact, and on the back to dampen the collision with the wall. It worked mostly, but its durability instantly dropped to 32 out of 100, so you couldn't even take two full punches.

You stepped out of the crater in the wall caused by you, checking your health while dusting yourself off. The wall behind you reconstructed itself once you exited.

HP (12982/15000)

Y/N: (Only one punch by that thing, blocked by body armor and reduced by Physical Attack Resistance, did that much damage... how the hell am I supposed to beat this? Should I have waited longer to come here?)

Temporary Common Skill - Self Regeneration (Regenerates 20HP/s) (98/100)

Another skill from the slime started to work on your HP stat, slowly bringing them up again.

"How interesting! Even after that you still aren't hurt. Impressive."

Y/N: (I guess that's how it looks on the outside. Thank god for Pain Nullification or I'd probably be screaming my lungs out right now.)

"It seems I went too easy on you. Then let's turn up the heat a little, shall we?"

Y/N: Sweatdrops. "A-actually the heat right now is just fine, thank you. You shouldn't turn it up."

"Haha! I'll do it anyway!"

You got ready to dash out of the way again, but you also decreased Stat Overload to 1%. You figured out a few months ago that you can change Overpower's buff while it's active, through which you could decrease it when you're idle or increase it to 99% at the impact of a punch. But as punishment for doing this Punishment Phase would take the highest percent you used and use that as debuff for the entire duration. The thing was that this took immense concentration and control, which you didn't have. But the situation right now pushed you to do it anyway.

With increased power the Elemental Colossus jumped up, aiming to land at you. With a surge of Stat Overload and the help of Rapid Learning, you dodged behind it.

Y/N: (Alright, I can't really damage its body... but I can impede it in a different way. I'll have to go for the eye.)

The Colossus turned around while swinging its arm, and you promptly jumped on top of it as it swung. As it looked at where you were standing a second ago, and no impact or something was seen, the Colossus was confused about where you were. You took this opportunity to jump at its head.

"What are you doing?!"

As soon as you grabbed onto it you started to punch its one eye, which didn't get damaged but it confused the Colossus enough for it to stumble back. Then you got a good grip on its eye.

Y/N: "You're very strong, I give you that, but can you hit your target when you can't even see it?!"

Unique Skill [Overpower] - Stat Overload [Elemental Colossus | STR +99% = 334, AGI +1% = 144], Area of Power

With strength buffed to its maximum you slowly but surely pulled out its eye. The Colossus managed to grab onto you and throw you away, but as you were still holding on to its eye it got ripped out too. You threw the eye away, the once ominous red vanishing. The Colossus was now going around aimlessly.

"No! Damn it! To your left! No, ugh! The other left!"

You looked at it for a few seconds, amused.

Y/N: "It seems it isn't as good now, is it?"

The Colossus turned to you. It could still hear. And it didn't waste any time completely ramming you into the wall.

Temporary Common Skill - Body Armor (0/100)

Temporary Physical Attack Resistance (46/100)

HP (4320/15000)

Coughing you exit the wall again. As soon as you did you were met face to face with a punch from it.

Everything went dark, and you died.

Unique Skill [Retry] - Return by Death (30Sec)

You gasped and began to breathe heavily as you remembered memories of a future that didn't happen. 50 magicules vanished into nothingness. Retry had activated, you were sure of it. All because of a stupid comment from you. You assessed the situation you were in right now, and you instantly dodged and jumped on a swinging arm.

Y/N: (I- I'm here again. Okay... Just calm down. I'll be more careful this time. Just deep breaths.)

You jumped and grabbed its eye again, and the same things happened. The pulling out, the throwing away. But this time you didn't say anything. You made sure to be as silent as possible.

"Are you really just gonna stay there silently?"

You didn't answer. But after a little more time, the Elemental Colossus started to understand the instructions of this disembodied voice and was now charging at you with incomprehensible speed again.

Y/N: (Shit!)

You tried to dodge and leaned to the right. Closing your eyes you waited for death again. But it never came. The wind caused by the intended punch only went past you. Opening your eyes you could see that due to you leaning in the right direction it had missed by one to two centimeters (around 0.39 to 0.79 inches).

Y/N: "It missed?"

"It missed?"

[System Notification]

It missed.

Unique Skill [Thread of Fate] acquisition successful.

Y/N: (NOW? SERIOUSLY?)

The hand of the Colossus that was originally meant to punch you grabbed you instead and lifted you off of the ground. You gulped as it lifted its second arm too, setting out to punch you.

"Wait."

The Colossus stopped.

"You know, little boy, you're impressive. I didn't think someone like you could manage to survive against my Elemental Colossus for this long. And I acknowledge your potential. It'd frankly be a waste to kill you."

Y/N: "Uh, thank you?" (Where the hell was this before I died to it?)

Then you saw a little yellow ball of light descending from the ceiling, and as it got closer and stopped right in front of you, you could make out a person. She was as small as a pixie, which is small enough to for example rest on a flower, and her chest was flat too. Her features included things like a black dress with golden accents, four wings with two on either side, golden eyes, and blonde hair done in pigtails. Some other lights were floating around her too, as if they were attracted by her, but they didn't have a body like she did, if they had one to begin with.

"That's right, be thankful! You're standing in front of the one and only Demon Lord Ramiris!"
