"You won't make it home... unless you decide right now."
That sentence...
A voice from my dream last night.
A voice that sounded like... my future self.

Kim Jungwok Ends His Vacation
Kim Jungwok ended his overseas vacation earlier than planned.
Not because of any urgent matter, nor due to external obstacles—
But because of a strange feeling that had haunted him since morning.
If he didn't return home soon… he might be sleeping outside tonight.
Chuckling lightly to himself, he got into the taxi, dragging his suitcase.
"Airport, ASAP," he said to the driver.
Even in the taxi, his mind couldn't rest.
His eyes stared blankly out the window, as the sounds of the foreign city slowly faded away.
"I warned myself from the future… a disaster is coming in five days."
"But the first to be affected… is my son, Kim Dohyun…"
"What does this mean? Will he be kidnapped? Or worse… become evil?"
Jungwok took a deep breath. He closed his eyes, trying to erase the dream from his mind.
Not now.
He had to believe… that everything was fine.
"What matters right now... is whether he's eaten or not,"
he whispered with a small smile, trying to calm himself.

Back in Korea
The Seoul sky looked brighter than usual.
Jungwok's steps felt light, but something strange lingered—
A creeping sense of relief.
He didn't go home immediately.
Upon arriving at the airport, several well-known Hunters were waiting for him.
Familiar faces. The kind seen often on TV.
They greeted him warmly.
But Jungwok simply stared at them with a blank expression.
Silently, he activated his signature skill—Demon Eye.
As their stats appeared before him, a sneer tugged at the corner of his lips.
"Weak... far too weak..."
"Is this what passes for a famous Hunter?
If they faced a level 5 demon, they'd die before they could even scream."
He slowly shook his head and walked away.
There was no time for chit-chat.

The Bakery He Missed Most
That afternoon, he arrived at the place he had missed the most—
A small bakery on the outskirts of town.
The scent of warm dough and the soft ring of the doorbell welcomed him—
Warmer than any hug.
And there, standing in front of the shop, were the two figures that made his heart tremble:
Kim Dohyun, his son, and his beloved wife.
Without thinking, Jungwok ran toward them.
His steps grew faster, his breath heavier.
But he didn't care.
As he embraced them—
The world seemed to stop spinning.
He cried.
Not because of sorrow… but from sheer happiness.
Though he had only been gone for three days, the longing felt like years.
And in that embrace, all his worries, nightmares, and visions of disaster… disappeared.
For a moment, it was just the three of them.
One family.
One place… where everything felt peaceful.
---
A Quiet Night… Before the Storm
Night fell.
Kim Jungwok sat outside with his two wives, Shaara and Liriena, gazing at the stars.
Suddenly, Shaara kissed him on the cheek, surprising him.
"Darling, why are you so quiet? You don't usually act like this, right, Liriena?"
"Yeah. You're usually playful with Dohyun."
"It's nothing, love. I'm just thinking… watching the stars."
But just as he was about to head inside, his eyes caught something—
Far beyond the atmosphere…
Something was approaching Earth.
"What is that...? Is this what the future me was warning about?
The disaster… and Kim Dohyun…?"
He ignored it and went to sleep.
That night, another dream came.
He was in an underground station—dark and silent.
There, a system interface appeared before him. Faint text glowed in the air:
"S****... A****... M****... D***... T..."
Jungwok tried to read it—
But before he could finish, the alarm blared, waking him up.
"Damn it! Why did the alarm go off?! I was so close!"
"I saw another man… standing with five others.
They were in a meeting, but I couldn't hear what they were saying…"
He shook his head.
Four days left. The disaster was coming.
That day, he took his family out to camp and play.
He wanted to make memories.
Shaara, Liriena, Kim Dohyun, even Solfyrion joined for a photo.
That night, everyone slept peacefully.
Jungwok once again stared at the stars.
"What do these dreams mean?
And that system… from when I was sucked into the train?
The disaster is coming.
And the answer I'm looking for... lies within it."
---
Five Days Later – The Day of Disaster
Kim Jungwok had been prepared since morning.
Solfyrion looked into his eyes and asked,
"You sense something, don't you?
What kind of disaster are we facing?"
"Yes… it will happen today.
But I'll protect my family. With everything I have."
"Haru, you're in the Demigod realm.
How could you possibly lose?"
Jungwok simply smiled.
And then—
A massive portal opened in space.
A colossal creature emerged and declared,
"Humans… I shall devour your Earth.
I am the Monarch, one above the gods."
His voice was soft, yet it echoed across the entire Multiverse.
Kim Dohyun trembled and hid behind his father.
But Jungwok remained calm, gently stroking his son's head.
"It's okay, son. I'm here.
Watch your father… fight."
Shaara, Liriena, and Solfyrion were all paralyzed with fear.
"Are you crazy, Jungwok?!
That's a being above the gods!"
"Please, darling… don't go.
What will happen to us if you die…?"
Jungwok turned to them, smiling peacefully.
"It's okay. I have to go."
He broke his seal.
His hair turned white.
Kim Dohyun's eyes turned grey.
"Father… Father is a Demigod…"
"Yes.
This is the true strength your father has kept hidden."
Jungwok jumped—and appeared in the Monarch's realm.
"So… a human has finally reached the realm of the gods."
The Monarch grinned.
And so… the battle began.
Jungwok unleashed his skill:
"Demonic Magic: Demonic Shot 9th!"
The dimensional fabric tore. Gods fled.
And humans stood frozen in awe.
"This is terrifying… a battle that can tear apart the universe?!"
The Monarch retaliated:
"Dimensional Splitting Magic!"
Jungwok couldn't dodge—
His arm was severed.
But he laughed.
"Hahahaha!
Good, Monarch! Let's fight to the death!"
He drew the sword Liriena gave him—
And donned the armor Shaara made.
The battle reached its climax.
"Let's finish this, Monarch!
Which one of us… will die today?!"
The Monarch smiled.
"Chrono Dimensional Rupture: Eternal Collapse!"
Jungwok unleashed his final technique:
"Swordsmanship + 9th Dimensional Splitting Magic!"
The collision obliterated space and time.
And then—
Kim Jungwok opened his eyes.

[Final Hook – The Mystery of Volume 2]
He wasn't in a hospital.
Not at home.
But in the underground station—
Dark. Cold. Empty.
"What…? Wasn't I just fighting… the Monarch…?"
Before him, a glowing blue screen appeared:
[Congratulations! You have successfully completed the Tutorial.]
[You are qualified to receive the Defeat Fate System.]
[Would you like to claim your reward?]
Kim Jungwok stared at the screen.
His eyes widened.
His hand slowly reached forward.
"Tutorial...?
So everything until now…
wasn't even the beginning?"
