Chapter 29 - Renzo VS Drevyn (Filler)

Episode 29 (Filler)

A beautiful day—birds chirping, sunlight blazing bright, a cold wind brushing through the air. The atmosphere outside was calm, peaceful… but inside Renzo's house, it was nothing short of war.

"AHHH! I'm sorry mom, please forgive your son!" Renzo screamed, sprinting across the living room. His mother, brandishing a steel pan like a war weapon, stormed after him.

"No matter how much we scold you, your grades are always buried underground level!" she yelled furiously.

CLANG!

The pan smacked Renzo's head mid-run, yet he still kept dashing frantically in circles.

Meanwhile, his younger brother, Taro, sat cross-legged on the sofa, watching the chaos unfold like a spectator at a gladiator arena.

"I wonder what would've happened if dad was here… maybe it's actually good for brother Renzo that dad's out of the city," Taro muttered.

"Oii Taro, help me! Mom's gonna kill me!!" Renzo wailed, still trying to escape.

His mom lunged, caught him by the collar, and began raining blows.

DING DONG!

Taro casually turned his head. "Oh, someone's at the door."

"Renzo, go check who it is," Mom barked, gripping the pan menacingly.

Renzo, still rubbing his fresh bumps, limped to the door, twisted the knob, and—

"Drevyn—Hello! How are y… huh? Renzo, what the hell happened to you?"

Renzo stood there, wrapped in fresh bandages like a badly wrapped burrito, bruises glowing purple across his face.

"Nah, I'm absolutely fine. Why do you think so?" he grinned painfully.

Drevyn narrowed his eyes. "…Okay, no need to explain. I get it."

Renzo laughed awkwardly. "So anyway, what brings you here?"

"Just thought I'd drop by. Vaelis is stuck cramming for a test, Kaelion's out at his relatives, so I was bored… but instead of fun, I find you looking like a crushed biscuit."

Renzo shrugged. "Just my daily routine, nothing new. Wanna come in?"

"Of course. But tell your mom—no food. She never lets me leave on an empty stomach."

They walked inside.

"You were watching movies?" Drevyn asked.

"Yeah. That's when my mom decided, 'Oh, it's been days since I last beat Renzo!' And… well, you can see the masterpiece on my face. My mom's an artist, clearly," Renzo sighed.

Drevyn burst into laughter.

They sat down, Renzo flicked on the fan. Moments later, Taro entered with tea and biscuits.

Drevyn groaned. "Man, I told you I won't eat!"

Taro grinned. "Don't be shy, we all know you're a foodie."

Just then, Drevyn's eyes caught something on the wall. "Ooooh, that's the poster of the new superhero movie! That's badass! Can you give it to me?"

Renzo clutched his chest. "Nah. Never happening."

Taro chuckled, "Brother Renzo may be strong, but he still gets beaten up by mom. Makes me wonder… could he even defeat you, Drevyn?"

"Hah!" Drevyn scoffed, waving a hand. "Not a chance. He's a coward."

Renzo cracked his knuckles. "Come here then. I'll show you who's a coward."

Taro lit up. "Ohhh, we're getting a fight scene!"

With a flash, they activated the game system, teleporting into the battlefield.

---

Battlefield: A deserted school.

Renzo blinked. "Wait—why is it a school? How are we supposed to fight here?"

Drevyn smirked. "See, Taro? He's scared already. Doesn't matter where we fight, he'll always be a coward."

Renzo's eyes narrowed. "Tch. I'm not scared of you. I'm stronger than you think."

"Relax. Our levels are nearly the same. You've got no chance."

"We'll see. This corridor will be your defeat."

System Voice: The first one to get knocked out loses.

Renzo: "Ready?"

Drevyn: "Always. 3—"

Renzo: "2—"

Drevyn: "1—"

Taro: "START!"

Renzo bolted forward, sprinting with insane speed. His feet hit the walls—left, right, left—before he launched off with a flying kick.

BAM!

Drevyn blocked with his arms, grabbed Renzo by the collar, and slammed him into the tiles. The floor cracked under the impact.

He stepped back, raised his right hand. With a whoosh, a massive black rifle materialized, glowing with eerie purple patterns.

In an instant, energy pulsed at the muzzle.

BOOM!

TRISHHHHH!

The charged pulse ripped through the corridor, the air itself bending around it.

Renzo ducked at the last second, zig-zagged across the floor, and shoulder-bashed Drevyn straight into a wall.

THRAASSSHHHH!

CRAAAACK!

Debris exploded everywhere, dust filling the corridor. Renzo searched. "Where is he?"

From behind the rubble, Drevyn emerged, blood trailing from his lip. He smirked.

"This is a school, you idiot. And you've already trashed it."

His aura flared.

"Elemental Style—Flame Version. Flare Clone!"

A burst of fire erupted beside him, twisting into humanoid shape. Arms, legs, head—soon it was a burning replica of Drevyn, faceless, glowing with heat.

Both Drevyn and his clone lunged forward, fists flying like machine-guns. Renzo twisted and dodged, weaving through the storm, but blows still clipped his ribs and jaw.

Left hook—right hook!

Renzo caught both their arms, locking them in place.

"HELICOPTER TOSS!" he roared.

Spinning faster and faster, he swung them like ragdolls. Air sliced, the ground shook. He hurled Drevyn across the schoolyard and smashed the clone against the wall. The clone fizzled, disappearing in smoke.

Renzo leapt high, spinning his whole body like a drill. He crashed into the ground, tunneling below. The tiles cracked open like eggshells.

Drevyn spun, confused. "Where—where is he?!"

CRACK. A sound behind him. He whipped around, flames blazing in his palm, and blasted.

FWOOM!

But it was just a trick. The real Renzo shot up from the opposite side, aiming for his back.

Drevyn's instincts kicked in. He spun mid-air, unleashing another flame blast. It connected—

BOOOM!

Renzo went flying across the corridor, smoke trailing.

He coughed, pushing himself up. "Tch. If I waste any more time here, my mom will beat me even harder. We'll finish this fight another day."

Drevyn smirked, brushing ash off his shoulder. "Hah. Thought so. You're still a coward."
