Let's pause this book here for now, okay?
I've realized that only a few people—so few that I could count them on my two hands—are genuinely interested in this book. Although the views are increasing at a good rate, which shows that many are reading it, they aren't showing any signs of appreciation… no encouraging comments, no supportive power stones, nothing.
It made me think that maybe I'm not good at writing fanfiction. Of course, I already know I'm not amazing—but at least I believed I was writing at an average level. Now, it seems that might not even be the case.
Maybe my plot isn't strong, or maybe my MC's character just isn't likable. That's understandable too. In our world today, perhaps 25% of people are genuinely good, 65% think they are good but carry many flaws, and the remaining 10% lean toward villainous thoughts. Among that 10%, how many are really reading novels and fanfics? Most are probably busy plotting how to cause chaos, overthrow systems, or harm others. Villains usually don't have time to read novels.
Considering my fanfic has a villain MC, most of the audience naturally comes from that 65% group. But even then, due to other factors, that number is pitifully small. That's my logical explanation for why people don't seem to appreciate my story.
But then again, logic doesn't always reflect reality. Maybe I really am not good, and maybe my plot truly isn't appealing. Maybe this whole time I've just been misunderstanding things.
Still, when I see brain-dead fanfics climbing the rankings, I can't help but doubt myself. Are there power stone bots at work here?
Sigh… let's put that doubt aside.
Anyway, for the sake of my fragile heart, I'll try writing another fanfic with a new plot—this time toning down the villainy, aiming for a gray character, and avoiding R-18 chapters. Maybe that way, more people will appreciate it.
Dear everyone, please understand—I'm still a child when it comes to writing. I need affirmation from others to build confidence in my fanfiction.
That's it. See you later.
